Playing Devil's advocate here, but does that apply to Deoxys as well if if you are planning on using Deoxys-A?
For personal use I kept my 14/31/31/31/19-21/31 Deoxys. People might say its shit but really 50/20/20 for health and defenses is w/e.
I even calculated before hand if its defenses mattered.
Comparing a 6 IV Naive Deoxys vs. a 0/31/0/31/0/31 Naive Deoxys I only saw 4 instances where a 2HKO became a OHKO.

Giratina (Bold or Careful) using Dragon Tail

depends. If you want to trade then go for closest to flawless. If you don't care to much and want it for personal use then X/31/X/31/X/31 would be fine really. Personally I would go for flawless because those defenses and health could make a difference and even though you think it will be for personal use you never know. Your mind could change and you may need to trade it for something. Better to just soft reset it that's my thought.

LF: HA Timburr or its evos preferably with a Brave nature but it is fine if the nature isn't exact. IVs don't matter either unless you want to go out of your way, thanks. :3
Additionally, I am going to begin breeding again soon I realized that all this time I haven't even got an oval charm so I am trying to fill out my Pokedex now.

Finally, I have another question, Snatch doesn't work on protect/detect right? It seems to work on Spiky Shield and King's Shield (which couldn't block status anyway) according to Bulbapedia but not those two.

That's a toss. Mostly because of that Spd and you should check which IVs are 31 and which aren't. Because a 30 speed IV for example can make the difference between a keep and a toss

Can you even check before beating E4 (first time playing gen VI, no PowerSaves)?
The stats at level 50 are pretty accurate with an IV calculator so you ll probably be OK checking with it.

Also Buckert wrote this guide to help other people Soft Reset for more accurate results.
Your Pokémon has a characteristic and you can check the Hidden Power type in Anistar City to narrow the IVs down.
EVing it with Super Training helps too and allows you to preserve an UT copy, if that matters to you.
Since Yveltal is level 50 you could use a medium bags or level 1 training from Super Training to find out the 30s from the 31s in each stat. Basically if the stat goes up its 31 and if it stays the same its 30. It can also be done with a large bag or level 3 training but instead the stats go up by 2 for 31 IVs and 1 for 30 IVs. I think the same thing can be achieved with a rare candy but I don't remember exactly what level you have to raise it to check.

Ye, I know about that. I'm using his method right now, a speedchecking Healing Wish Gardevoir and a Final Gambit Staraptor.
The stats on this Rash Yveltal are 201/151/115/166/94/119, which correspond to 5x 30-31 and SpD at 4-5. Can't exactly IV check very easily because you're forced into cutscenes before and after, along with a bossfight against Lysandre.
How does EV'ing with ST work? Basically do training then use reset bags or something?

At level 50, 4 evs with raise the stat by 1 if it's a 31 iv (or any odd iv really). So medium bag or lvl 1 training would work
