Volcanion will probably get released just before S&M. Japan will probably get it with the movie

Actually, what about Floette-E?!?
This is exactly why I'm hesitant to say it's gen 7. We don't have enough info on the games, yet we're still missing a huge bunch of lore from Zygarde's involvement in the games. It's anniversary year so I'm just assuming something fishy is going on.

They also said Black Kyurem and White Kyurem were new Pokemon. Johto is considered its own region though it's only slightly to the left of Kanto (and shares the same Pokemon League). Pokemon's term for "new" is very loose.
Johto isn't a very apt comparison because it actually is Gen II with completelh new mons. I'll give you Kyurem.

Kurona, at least my observation is based off of evidence.

That too. I know Volcanion will get released but I didn't want it to be as an after thought.

There's a building in the UK that resembles this right?

I think this might be a possibility.

Pokemon GO is only going to have the original 151 and is aimed more at the masses, I think. There won't really be any story since it's a mobile game with exclusively multiplayer in mind.

The names "Sun" and "Moon" are making me nervous for the games. I don't know why, though...

Oh f*** no. Not those games. NOT THOSE GAMES! ANYTHING BUT THOSE!!!

On the flip side, I like the fact that the Gen 1 Pokemon will be transferable through the Bank, though I have the feeling they're gonna patch the glitches. RIP Mew glitch, and rip army of level 255 Mewtwos.

Guys can we stop with the one word shit posts... They add nothing.

I'll be talking to Karxrida and Codraroll About the future of this thread or whether we will make a new one for Sun/Moon.

The official Pokemon site had updated and we have confirmation of new regions and new Pokemon.

http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-video-games/pokemon-sun-and-pokemon-moon/

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are coming out for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family in holiday 2016, with a new world, new Pokémon, and new adventures to discover! Watch the first teaser for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon at the top of the page.

Other people have posted this, but it does look like a direct to Gen 7 movement.

Uhhh, really solid evidence for it being gen 7, outside of the New Pokemon thing:

"Using Pokémon Bank, you'll be able to transfer Pokémon you've caught in the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow into your copy of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y can also be brought into Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon in the same way."

While that could just mean generic transfer a la between XYORAS, it kind of sounds like Bank will be the method of moving Pokemon, which was gonna happen in the new gen anyway. But it suggests trading (and therefore battling) doesn't happen with them. Hurrm. Now I'm kinda sad? I liked Kalos a lot and wanted to visit it again :o

Is anyone actually going to be disappointed if this is Gen VII?

As of October of this year, Pokemon X and Y will have been released 3 years ago, and do keep in mind that ~3 years is how long generations typically last (Gen 1 1996, Gen 2 1999, etc.) Going by Japanese release dates, Generations III and IV are the only exceptions with roughly 4 years each, but point being, I feel like we should be on the new-gen lookout after about three years from the start of the current gen.

I'm looking through the list of Gen I TMs and see some humorous things:

1. Double-Edge Pinsir
2. Pay Day Mewtwo
3. And of course, Fissure Machamp

Double-Edge Pinsir has been a thing since Move Tutors in FR/LG/E. It's never been considered great since it has compatibility issues with Close Combat and Quick Attack.
The only notable TMs that weren't either rereleased later as TMs or Tutor moves are Fissure, Pay Day, Horn Drill, Mega Kick and Mega Punch, Razor Wind and Tri Attack (and Bubblebeam, I guess).
