Gen VII: Pokémon Sun and Moon (New info Post #5834)

So I was browsing NeoGAF, and they found something interesting there!

Apprently, TPC / Gamefreak / Nintendo did something stupid, and put some unused types hidden in the URL of the Japanese Pokemon Sun and Moon page recently, hinting that we might be getting a new Pokemon reveal soon (maybe related to that video corocoro is uploading tomorrow? that'd be a riot lol)

Fighting-type

Worth noting that the Ground-type image is icon 3, right before Fire, while Fighting is icon 6, right after Water. Some people are speculating that these are the dual typings for Litten and Popplio, but I'm pretty skeptical of this claim, since I highly doubt we'd get a starter evo reveal so soon. I imagine that we'll just get a random new Pokemon reveal in the near future or something along those lines.

Are you sure the Fighting-type image wasn't icon 3?
 
I feel so young compared to you all. Makes me more nervous when I mess up on something. >->



BUT ANYWAY since we're saying what we'd like for final evolutions, I think Rowlet would be pretty cool as something like Mothman. Mothman's most likely explanation is simply an owl, so I can see it working.

Definitely going with Litten as my starter. Easily my favourite to look at, although Rowlett's very cute as well.

Why would the Ground type be icon three? Should it not be Icon 4? Or are you suggesting that the type gets reversed???

Surely it would be 1. Grass 2. Flying 3. Fire 4. Ground 5. Water 6. Fighting if it was laid out that way.
 
What do you guys think about the lack of tall grass anywhere in any of the trailers? Do you think Pokemon will just appear anywhere now? That we just haven't seen it yet? That it'll be less clear, such as if you walk on a brown path there will be no Pokemon but the green areas count as "Tall Grass" would?

E: I think we just haven't seen it yet. There are some areas on the map that look like patches of grass akin to a route 1. I guess there was no point showing us video of the player running in grass, since they haven't showed us any other Pokemon we'd run into yet.

Maybe it will be like EarthBound or MOTHER 3, in that they are encountered in the overworld?

I think that the only areas we've seen so far are the VERY early routes that lead from your home town to the slightly larger one where you get a starter.
 
It's a Jigglypuff viewed from above!

Looks kinda like a jackalope. But it's probably just the usual boring normal mammal. Might be cuter than usual this time?

EDIT: I just realised what I thought were stripey twisted ears/horns were probably the trainer's feet. It might have really tiny ears and I wouldn't have noticed. Could be anything.
 
Okay, more detailed post for whatever that thing is. Now what I see is a weird mix of a deer and a rabbit. It kind of has that floof tail, but in the front those could be either horns/antlers or curly ears.

As D_What said, they could jut be the trainer's feet.
I tried watching the trailer again to freeze-frame every second and see if movement would help me discern if they are or not, but it's still hard to tell.

Wow, ok. I took some shots of it myself and tried to zoom it in but gained nothing new. The red is the kid's shoes, so no "twisted ears". Looks mainly like a normal dog, white floof for a tail. May seem to have a "built-in collar" by the black dots on it's neck.

Currently I will be referring to this new mon as "Corgial". Who knows, maybe it'll catch on till we know the real name.
 
I figured it out. We are looking at it entirely the wrong way. Using the arcane arts of, uh, art, and resizing and enhancing the image using legitimate proprietary software tools, I have determined that the following is an entirely accurate and totally infallible view of the mystery Pokemon.

Definitely bug/poison.
 
The dog in the CoroCoro trailer seems to resemble a Corgi, as shockwave527 stated above. However, is it also possible that the dog is a Chihuahua, rather than a Corgi? Only time will tell.
 
Okay, I zoomed in on the image and colored out what I think is part of the trainer:

Looks like a dog-like Pokemon to me.

Hawaii had a native dog species called the Hawaiian Poi Dog which went extinct, but it doesn't really look like this new Pokemon.

It looks to have a fluffy white tail that sticks up and short ears (I think those black spots are just graphical pixiliation and not part of the pokemon). Kind of reminds me of a Pomeranian.
