Huh? I'm pretty sure you do get a ribbon for any rank of contest. And even at the lowest rank there'll be people at the entrance giving you random items for contest completion."Congratulations! You won a Contest! You can now participate in the Super Rank of this type of Contest!"
"Wait...I don't get any money? An item? Not even a ribbon?"
"Nope, you just get to do a Super Rank Contest. Have a nice day! Oh, and Lisia is waiting for you upstairs!"
I just found the people giving you items. That's something, I guess. Still, no you do not get a ribbon, at least not at first.Huh? I'm pretty sure you do get a ribbon for any rank of contest. Not in ORAS. In the original RSE you got a ribbon per level per contest type. In ORAS only ribbon is for the Master rankHuh? I'm pretty sure you do get a ribbon for any rank of contest. And even at the lowest rank there'll be people at the entrance giving you random items for contest completion.
Good to know! I gave up after X/Y.This was fixed in ORAS.
this is stupidFor people in North America, Europe and Australia; if you signed up to the Pokémon Trainer Club Newsletter before June 1st, you will receive a serial code for Mew. The Mew is identical to the 20th anniversary one from February, and if you got said 20th Anniversary February Mew, you cannot receive this one.
There's been a few before that were like that. I mean there were a number that weren't able to get it the first time. It's easier to reuse the same wonder card than make a new one I guess. Plus it stops people from being busy.this is stupid
this is stupid
Oh definetely, I love that part. I just wish people who got it before could get it again.Although I agree it's stupid to just recycle events, especially if they're not available to everyone. However, I did actually miss out on mew the first time around, so I'm not going to complain.
You should put a trigger warning on this post because you just reminded me of the pains I go through with training slow Pokemon against the high level Audino in the Giant Chasm.Well, it's not a minor complaint.
But it is little.
And it is something I can only really define as a thing.
I really hate Emolga.
Now yeah usually this is a no-go and a stupid thing to do here - complaining about one Pokémon in particular is pretty pointless off of the one thread dedicated to that which I'm pretty sure has been dead for eons anyway. But see, I'm not complaining about Emolga as a Pokémon. As a Pokémon I don't really care about it. It's just another shitmon pikaclone that's cute and happens to have a semi-unique typing; if you like it, cool, I don't give a fuck
So what am I complaining about? I'm complaining about it as a gameplay element. I'm complaining about it in Pokémon Black and White. BW is a fun game. Has some negatives but it's just as good as any other Pokémon game. One of the bigger positives about it within the franchise as a whole is that after Gen 4's slogginess, it introduced a lot of convenience and quality of life features. Things like TMs being infinite and a better organized bag were a great help, and the game ran much smoother with an improved framerate, well-designed flowing areas and graphics and the battles flowing far better than just showing one thing at a time. It in general felt like they had learned the limitations of the DS from their time with Gen 4, and since they couldn't do anything really significant until a new console, they might as well improve the UI.
And then the game comes to an absolute grinding halt when suddenly a ton of trainers, including a gym leader, and even the shaking grass with the grinding 'mon Audino have a 5% chance to spit out an ungodly demon with static, double team, and high speed in a game where a lot of Pokémon are actually kind of slow.
I honestly believe fighting Emolga is one of BW's greatest flaws as a game. That's how bad it is. It is RNG fuckery at it's worst; it could only be worse if it had Swagger or something. The only time it could possibly be fun to fight is if you find something that's both faster than it and has a non-contact move that can OHKO it. That's at least kind of satisfying.

You mean healing pulse central? It was honestly fun.You should put a trigger warning on this post because you just reminded me of the pains I go through with training slow Pokemon against the high level Audino in the Giant Chasm.
Audino was DAMN good at their job of being EXP pinatas. I loved it when I needed to EV train a Pokemon in HP.You mean healing pulse central? It was honestly fun.
I bet this has been said a million times already, but I gotta say it: fuck that quicksand in the battle resort, I can't imagine how much longer that's made breeding while watching netflix -_-
You know what was a really nice breeding spot? Skyarrow Bridge. Just take a batch of eggs, bike back and forth for a few laps, you'll hatch those eggs in no time. Sure you got to fly back to the Daycare once all the eggs hatch but that's just a mild inconvenience. The only better breeding spots I could think of would be if the treamills in Brawley's Gym in ORAS worked.
New annoyance: Why didn't the treadmills in Brawley's Gym work? It would have actually given me a reason to revisit a Gym.
Actual new annoyance: The Gyms are such interesting places its kind of disappointing there's nothing to do there once you beat the Gym Leader. Surely there must be a secondary function added to Gyms, even if they just have the trainers reset daily (and of course added more of them and leveled accordingly).
Don't you know about the path around the island that lets you loop it indefinitely without needing to change direction/inputs? Or are you using the Circle Pad instead of the D-pad when using the path and accidentally going off course?I bet this has been said a million times already, but I gotta say it: fuck that quicksand in the battle resort, I can't imagine how much longer that's made breeding while watching netflix -_-

Yeah, but I don't have to pay attention AND I don't have to do the following:I bet this has been said a million times already, but I gotta say it: fuck that quicksand in the battle resort, I can't imagine how much longer that's made breeding while watching netflix -_-
Sorry, but I'm not quite understanding your gripe in Number 2 or 3. You have to stop and pay attention to check IVs and then release them either way, the only difference being flying which... takes seconds and is as distracting as checking IVs in the first place. It's slightly more convenient having the IV checker right next door, yeah, but it's not exactly anything significant. 1 I can at least understand because you have to spend the time actually getting to the center and positioning yourself.Yeah, but I don't have to pay attention AND I don't have to do the following:
1) Oh, I have five eggs, I better fly to Lumoise City to bike in circles.
2) Oh, my eggs have hatched, I better fly to Kiloude City to check IVs.
3) Oh, either none of these are what I need, they are improved breeding stock, or I need to breed the next thing, better fly back to Route 7.
Rinse, lather, repeat.
Is it pointless? Oh hell yeah, but everything else outweighs the cons and the time is probably more even thanks to the aforementioned changes.
Also, that moment you realize that you've never used the first Day Care in ORAS and probably never will.
New thing that annoys me:
Why isn't the IV checker in the Day Care center? In other games, I guess I understand since it's always by/in the Battle Tower/Froniter/Subway/Maison, but with ORAS having that second Day Care in the Battle Resort, it would have been nice to put them him in the same building.
Minor gripe, though.

I honestly find Route 7 to be amazing for hatching eggs. Never even used Lumiose City once.Although it's not that terrible time-wise, the continuous flying is just annoying. I personally don't even fly to lumoise to hatch eggs, I just use route 7. It's really not that bad.
The route does not hit the quicksand, hence why I'm asking. He specifically stated the quicksand to be the problem
