NOC Dragon Ball Z NOC - Day 4

K so we ultimatumed and some people want a vegeta claim, some don't. We're never going to get an agreement here. I think all the relevant points have been laid out. Being risk averse seems really silly in a game where 3 kills go open season on us. Ultimately the final decision lies with Vegeta on what to do here, and I'm ok with that.

However I'm pretty sure we're all agreed on a conservative attitude with respect to every other role in the game. So I'm considering this matter settled and I don't think we need any more ultimatums on it.

Sam's method of game theory based scumhunting continues to baffle me. I get that he doesn't like the psychology but the role based shit does not replace normal scumhunting in any way, only adds to it. Mafia will not win by pushing town to adopt antitown strategies but instead by effectively hiding the motivation behind their lynches and concealing the dirty information that they have.

I've been keeping up with the thread but I'm not in the best place to make a big informed readslist right now.

Tldr I think claim discussion isn't going anywhere further on vegeta and I think we're good on everyone else.

Yeah so I think if we're going to have Vegeta claim when they're being lynched, the first mafia we lynch is going to auto-claim Vegeta and then eventually get cc'ed, causing the 50/50 that would make us use our reviver? So I suppose if we're supporting a pre-lynch Vegeta claim, we're also assuming that worst case scenario we're using up the reviver (obviously, best case that wouldnt be so, but exploring all options that definitely one that we want to keep in mind).
I also think it's worth looking for posts that might be signaling for the androids, but not centering the conversation on it until there are android kills (will there be a special flavor that lets us know that the androids killed someone?)
I agree on LW RE: his claiming rules since we're probably only getting 2 townclaims so those would be the best roles to claim (inspector w/ scum result or vegeta being lynched)

i thought i'd have more here but it turns out the only posts i actually wanted to say anything about were lightwolf's rip me

Let's vote BT off

Vote Blue_Tornado
Why? Not opposed to it.

But y'all voting people saying "he look scummy so we get him" that ain't no way to lynch. Do you want non-town dead or do you want someone not on your scumteam dead? Cause I don't want another dumb mislynch here and it seems like some people are rather indiscriminate about who dies.

rssp1 please put your reads on every player itg, even if it's just 'null, haven't seen any posts yet' for a few of them.

Jalmont I listed B_T as one of my strongest scum reads a while back so while I will unvote vote Blue_Tornado, but I would like to see you give opinions on the rest of the playerlist as well.

@us
ill write reads on every player but atm i have townread on blazade slight townread on you yeti and haruno idfk read on lw and then a pls notice me senpai read on billy because he ignored me after i responded to him :(
ill elaborate tomorrow (i'd say if needed but obviously its needed)
the rest dont jump out in my mind atm but im sure ill get something on them if i look closely

No Blazade the point is twofold:
A. Force the mafia to talk about their teammates and give a real read on them
B. Villagers have something to go back to in future days regardless of alliance and thus the posts will gain more usefulness as the game goes on

Why do you think it's unproductive?

how is it "distracting" to see what everyone thinks of everyone else? getting relationships and connections between players solidified is an important part of scumhunting. you can't determine slight biases in the lategame if the earlygame data isn't there.

suspicious af post from blazade.

to be fair massive readslists do clog up the thread so it's good to have them when there's really no other conversation going on
which I do suppose is happening right now

Because when you post a lot of extremely weak or even blatently null reads those reads are proportionally less helpful looking back. Post as much as you can, but make sure it all counts for something over trying to make sure you check the boxes and the list is complete is my philospophy. Also it gets to the point where a lot of people start to meld into similar lists or more likely everyone jumps on a contentious opinion anyway.

Dropping this before it derails further.

Lol I'm definitely not doing a reads list on everyone, that's the definition of unproductive. Blazade is completely right here. It's just an easy way to make me look good even if I don't have anything substantive to say about the person. As much as I want to earn Yeti/US points, I'm going to have to stick with my principle on this one and refuse.

There are certain players that I'd like to talk about though. I'm going to get to that when I finish gathering my thoughts of what's going on and what not.

"Day 1 will last roughly 90 hours without extension and will end at 10 PM PDT, Saturday (3 PM on Sunday, UTC +10, for the host)"

never mind ive been tricked
unlynch

As a person who actually played some noc in the past when some smogoners decided to go troll mafiascum forums(good old hilarious times) yeah, just requesting read lists is unproductive, and posting tons of reads especially on 1/3rd of the game doing nothing just clogs up the game. If people have opinions on someone, they should post about that someone, not the whole game, otherwise important insight may be lost in a see of nulls.

Frankly I'm actually gonna do something that's not just arguing with US about meta. Yeti and US have been both fixated about making people post, in yeti's case also idlers, very much idlers. Requesting people to do stuff is fine, but seemingly it has been the only discussion besides the meta one, and even it is devolving into meta.

US if you found B_T scummy, then make an elaborate post on it, have people discuss this suspicion, not just post a short one liner after a very short paragraph on him in your read list, instead of only actually jumping on him when someone else decides to vote them. And no I'm not just saying instead of asking for reasds you spam people with posting a read on B_T. Make a damn argument, people will reply to that themselves, pester idlers on the side. Yeti, same argument, if you want idlers back in action, create a discussion by elaborating on your biggest scumread.

Also to clarify, I'd love if people reread the thread, look for stuff that may not have seemed suspicious at the start, I will certainly doing that, and is what I meant by posting a list. List in this case is a massive LW style quoting everything I find noteworthy and explaining why I think it's noteworthy SUPER POST.
