Nah, he created chance after chance but Higuain missed them all. Plus, we know Messi performed in decisive games for Barca (CL Final, for example) unlike Higuain who missed when it mattered (Penalty last season for Napoli, and Finals in tournaments)

Higuain has never shown up in big games though. I still remember when he ran off to celebrate in the world cup before realizing his goal had been ruled offside.

Messi to retire from international football?

Can we finally say that Spain's golden years are beyond them now?

Doubt it, the youth coaching system is pretty good in Spain as far as I know, and the league is head and shoulders above the rest right now. Spain is in the middle of a generational shift, and the best part about losing today is that Del Bosque will finally be sacked - this was long overdue.

As long as the manager favours the old guard or is biased towards Real Madrid and Barcelona players only then yeah, I agree.

Player choice wasn't the only issue, lack of tactical options and adaptation is what brought Spain down in the last 2 tournaments.

Make no mistake congratulations to Iceland, they fully deserved it.

I think...I think I might be done with the England national team now. Or at least while Roy is at the helm.

Is it just me or do England just love not being associated with Europe these days?
