If the leaked pics are real, I'm still Team Litten, even though Green Archer is badass, I like the wrestler and I'll like it even more if it's dark/fire, not dark/fighter. Throw in some good stats and it can be good.
 
A quick reminder that just because one part of a leak is announced officially or otherwise proven true, does not mean that everything in the leak is accurate!
A good example of this was one of the leaks regarding Smash Brothers 4; it managed to get a few really odd characters like Wii Fit Trainer right, but also had a few other, wrong guesses with it. So, even if certain aspects of (insert whatever leak here) are true, still take the rest of the leak with a grain of salt, especially if the rest of the leak is really odd (the plot revolves around building your own league falls under this imo. A really odd thing to change up now, for sure, and one that would complicate things unnecessarily)!

What I think happened with Gematsu was of a case of someone getting bad information. Chrom has an ingame model, and there's data for unused icons. There's a chance that the chorus men were considered or even in development at one point. If we get convincing information, this leaker could easily be in the same boat. They could have seen early sketches of an archer, wrestler, and mermaid, but only the archer was kept for example (after all Littlen's personality doesn't really scream wrestler and Popplio doesn't look like it could transition to a mermaid to easily).

One thing I've been wondering is have we already had hints at signature moves for the starters? Gen VI's starters had them, so they might want to repeat the trend. Rowlett could easily get another leaf arrow attack, Littlen's artwork depicting flaming fireballs sounds fishy, and Popplio's circus-ball-bubble-things sound too unique to pass up. My apologies if this has already been mentioned before.

Well, there is the new Leafage move that Rowlet is getting, but I'm pretty sure it's kind of a generic move for all kind of Grass type. Nothing else is known about starters moves (apart from the Fairy Move Popplio learn).
 
I still remember people speculating Fennekin would become a Fairy because of some move it used. Which I recall turned out to be Power-Up Punch.
 
Its Japanese name "Grow Punch" was mis-read as "Glow Punch" which sounds very Fairy-type.

Then again I have no idea how the quadruped fox uses Power-up Punch anyway.

I thought people quickly assumed Fennekin was going to be Fighting. It was グロウパンチ which can be read as Grow or Glow Punch, leading people to also desperately say that it is a Fairy attack when Fairy type was announced. Or so I remembered.

Still, only family of Skitty, Milotic, and Espurr are not Fairy type in any evolution stage and learns Disarming Voice naturally. And Pichu, Whismur, and elemental monkeys by breeding. Although then again there's the "seal's howl to be common feature" argument.

I think I remember seeing images quite a while ago that very much resemble what the leaks state.

I have doubts its real because the video I watched about it stated it was fanart. (To be fair though, my only source is that dude on YouTube with the Zangoose avatar and I'm not sure how reliable of a source he is)

Still though, if these are real (which, like I said, I doubt), I'd still choose Popplio. (I'll choose Popplio regardless of what it evolves into because I really want to try picking a Water starter when picking up a new game because then I can just teach it Surf right away (Waterfall and Dive will likely be reserved for HM slaves though)) The mermaid design looks very majestic to say the least. As for the supposed name for it, Entermaid is entertain + mermaid, as it seems like Popplio is based on circus animals.
 
TBH I'm quite surprised so many people love Popplio's evolutions design. It has quite a lot of fan art and a surprising amount of people love it. Last month when I originally saw these leaks I thought that most people would bash and hate on Popplio's final design because it becomes more feminine, but it seems it has the opposite impact than what I expected. Mainly people hate Rowlet's final design because it seems to have his eyes shaped like goggles or glasses, and people hate Litten's design because it looks like a Fire/Fighting type.

It's not his eyes but some kind of pigmentation of his "skin" that take the shape of glasses, on the top left concept on the picture you can see his eyes are shaped "normally" but his "hood" + this pigmentation mask his eyes.
Litten's "evo" looks like a Fire/Fighting type but could be a Fire/Dark type with a "dirty fighting" theme, Dark moves like Sucker Punch, Foul Play, PayBack work great.

Edit : I'd also liked to discuss about the thing that seems to upset people maybe more than Fire/Fighting -> The fact that all Fire starter ends up on two legs.
If you look at all the other Fire types, you'll see that not a lot of them are on two legs (Magby line, Victini, Pansear line and Darumaka line), so maybe the starters are a mean to produce more two legged Fire types.

Tapu Koko is listed in Serebii as a "Guardian Deity" Pokémon, so I'm personally hoping it's part of a trio akin to the legendary birds. Auto Terrain is a really cool idea, I hope we get an auto Misty and Grassy Terrain ability as well. I'd also like to see more terrain moves as well.

no there are four ilands though. Only believable situation is the fourth is zygarde or mascot-legend
