I don't think we'll be getting a drought of news, things will slow down but I feel every month (near the beginning or middle) they'll releases some news to keep interest in the game. On the month of the games' release they'll probably do some spoiler stuff (nothing too much, maybe early game spoilers) to really get people excited to buy the game in the next week or so.

I'm surprised how Mimikkyu and Kiteruguma are shown in the video, but still not uploaded to the site.
I want to know more about their abilities.

As I said, I think the video was suppose to be our first sneak peak of them THEN CoroCoro was suppose to give us more info on them (and when the site updates they'll include the final bits of information they want us to know about them up, including what their Abilities do). But CoroCoro leaked early so the video now looks more like its confirming CoroCoro isn't making things up. :P

Honestly if they're still gonna give CoroCoro news stuff I think it should be separate from any news GF/Pokemon Company releases on its own. CoroCoro is too unreliable to collaborate a news release with unless the news releases are separated by at least a week or so. Then at the end of the month put it all up on the site.

I suppose Japanese franchises may have contracts/ deals with CoroCoro, or that CoroCoro has some affiliation to them.
I may not be as simple as we think.

Bringing this away from maths, can I just say that I really dislike the "special move" mechanic. It just seems like it will break everything even more. I'm hoping some of them are status otherwise anything not named hyper offensive is going to be crushed with even more powerful moves. If there isn't some way to balance them (meter, one time use per battle, giving up a mega slot) then I'm not sure how much I'm going to like tiers where special moves are a primary, metagame defining feature. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it turns out being broken. Because of this I hope it gets a limited distribution (starters have already been shown to use this, it makes sense for legendaries to use them) because if they become as widely distributed as megas are then the Gen 7 will be a lot less fun for me.

Honestly I have a feeling megas will get scrapped with potential form exceptions (I mean, I only see us getting one bracelet) and in VGCs (the only metagame the company cares about) the megas have only seemed to give us Char-Y Mega Mence and Mega Khan so it wouldn't be that shocking to me. I just don't like the thought of having too much crap lol.

There may only be one bracelet, but it's still possible to fit a small keystone in there (see: Maxie's glasses). And there's a circular indentation on the inner wrist (as someone on this thread noted when the newest trailer came out) that could work.

Besides that, there's the huge publicity megas have gotten. I'm doubting they'll go away - we may not get more, but they likely wouldn't disappear.

Scrap megas? That's a bit far given how much hype megas build. Not adding more would be poor marketing. Although I would be happy if they only added a few (and mabye had less and less per generation) but even so, I can't see megas realistically getting scrapped

Maybe they'll make it so you can disable/ban them for pvp matches.

Hey there where 2 teams with mega gardevoir in the finals if I recall!

especially since Pokemon Go's release will no doubt bring with it an influx of new fans. I'm kinda expecting them to pull on the brakes a little bit, though, which I wouldn't really mind.

Idk about this one. So many people have Pokémon Go because it's accessible, a lot of people may not have enough money to afford a 3DS and a copy of S/M, though I guess they can take the 2DS route.

It'll certainly have some influence and effect. Marketing is Marketing; while Go is a very different type of Pokémon game, the fact is Pokémon has once again become a global phenomenon - that'll boost it's sales in some way. Especially when Go also brought in people who weren't interested in Pokémon before and people who haven't looked into Pokémon since their childhood.

I think about it a bit differently. I agree with Kurona that Pokémon Go will have some influence, but I'm pretty sure that influence will come not from the adults who are now coming back to Pokémon, but from the childs. I know the potential target of Pokémon Go is radically different from the target of the main series, but think of this: if a million kids who haven't played Pokémon before are now in love with the franchise thanks to Pokémon Go, they will want a version with "better graphics, better battles, trading and more Pokémon". I see a lot of kids forcing their fathers into buying them the new games, even the console + the games after this phenomena.

Wouldn't they want Go and Sun and Moon to be connected? Go players who do not have a 3DS would want to buy one so they could do whatever theoretical connecting feature the games had.
