I like what they're doing. The influx of priority in the past gens threw a monkey wrench into many strategies like Trick Room or Endure/Reversal + Salac Berry. I hope that this gen the latter sees a resurgence after being dead for so long.

Am I the only one thinking it's strange that in the datamining we did not see the TCG pokémon mentioned to be on the box set for Sun TCG?
I think, since ORAS, they learned to clean what we won't be finding on the demo - and since there are events to yet unfold, we might see all these we have found from the mining.

They did find that Pokemon, and an evolution for it as well. Perhaps you just missed it?

That image on the trading cart set was blurry, stretched and out of focus, plus it wasn't the same artist who does the official artwork so of course it would look off.
I hope we get to see their images soon though, the virus?spider thing looks kinda cool, as well as the hakikomori/shut in star fish.

It would be really weird, plus I'm fairly certain it's been mentioned that they aren't actually Pokemon. Kinda weird to catch what is essentially a monster form of characters in the game, no? Don't get me wrong, they look cool, but doesn't seem right to catch them, if that even goes with the lore/story in the first place.
Could be Florges-like. That has many colors and no difference between them.
Because they are very likely to NOT be Pokemon so catching non Pokemon sounds weird.
There's lots of reasons.
Some thought they were going to be these superboss pokemon, similar to the Ba'al from Bravely Default (they at least took a design cue from them).
Others think that the ultra beasts are related to the human characters, and the thought of catching a human being (even if it isn't one anymore) is a little creepy with a side order of unfortunate implications.
Others think that because the designs are so far out there that they aren't supposed to be true pokemon.
These were all just theories though.

There are seven colours of Minior, which match the seven colours of the rainbow. Probably doesn't get any deeper than that.
I think dex numbering has been found and the Lunala's pre evo isnt next to Lunala so might not be a pre evo. Same goes for Solgaleo's. It was a bit hasty to call them pre evos anyway. Could be another Phione situation or a Core/ Cell one.
Nexus , is it the whole dex leak ? People were talking about blank spaces were there instead of sprites in some areas !

I mean just look at them. They don't look like Pokemon, they look like lovecraftian monsters I don't want anywhere near my team. They shouldn't be catchable to keep that air of intimidating boss you have to defeat to save the world.
Not sure why people think that Shiny UB confirms that they will be catchable. Gensect has a shiny and he wasn't catchable in Gen5. Same with Meloetta, Hoopa, Valcanion and many other mythical pokemon. UB's can still be mythical. (I would prefer they be catchable tho, as that is kinda the point of Pokemon. "Gotta catch'em all!" not "Get 1/3 of'em handed to you on a silver platter!").
We actually do have the sprites of Pokémon with gender differences mined. They are in the ZIP-file that is linked in the opening post.
Now that I think about it, it probably isn't a core, since Zygarde's core did not make it to the Dex images. It is peculiar that the prevo is not placed before their final forms, though.
I think the catchable/uncatchable debate is more about obtainable/unobtainable. As in not whether or not the UB will even be usable in battle, traded, stored in the PC, etc.
Speak for yourself i love them all. For me they are a cool concept for a legendary/mythical Pokémon. Just because you can catch them doesnt deprive them from their bossiness
Okay I'm getting tired of this mystery that no one can solve.
GF scrubbed all data of all non-demo related Pokemon out if the game. The models the stats the abilities and etc have been deleted and hidden.
The "sprites" we are seeing are from team preview or something. Those sprites have nothing to do with the Pokemon files. We found them elsewhere in the game. GF hasnt used sprites in years for the in-battle Pokemon. You people know that. These sprites we are finding aware the equivalent to finding a model of a ridable Sharpedo. It's an art asset that is unrelated to the actual catchable Pokemon and therefore was not removed since it's not found in the same place as the battleable Pokemon.
It was an oversight.
