New Speed Tiers Here!

Approved by TDK, thanks to p2 for some of the format/old speeds that still are relevant taken from here. Do note that I've taken all of the Mega Evolutions that have not been found yet out of the Speed Tiers, but if they're found at a point, then they will be re-added.

Modest Scarf Xurkitree reaches 397.5, just enough to outspeed base 130s (Tapu Koko). Probably worth consider over Timid as M-Lopunny & M-Manectric (base 135 speed) is gone and the next significant speed mark is base 150s, which you can't reach even with Timid anyways.

Idk if it's worth mentioning but Lycanroc midday form has 112 base speed (like Scolipede) and Sand Rush. Therefore under sand with no boosts he gets all the way up to 710 speed with a + nature!

Probably worth investing more into attack then considering none of his checks are really up there.

210 / Rotom-Wash / 86 / Neutral / 8 / 0

8 Spe EVs really needs that 8 EVs to outspeed Crawdaunt in order to use WoW on it. Strange that this mistake is made over and over again: Rotom-W really needs to use WoW or an Electric attack before being hit by Crawdaunt's Knock Off.

Probably worth adding Zygarde-10%

361 / Zygarde-10% / 115 / +Spe / 252 / 0
329 / Zygarde-10% / 115 / Neutral / 252 / 0

Not 100% sure how common adamant is but definitely works with CB. Also, if Dragon Dance is usable with this thing, never tried it personally, then +1 could be worth adding

Might be worth it but

+1 252+ Speed Porygon-Z (90 Speed btw) reaches 459

+1 212+ Speed Porygon-Z reaches 442 (outspeed +0 Pheromosa by 1 point)
Some of the EVs are used for a little defense investment purposely to anticipate Genesect not gaining +1 Attack through Download boost.

Volcanion and Magneton should have the same speed because Magneton is no longer reduced by 1 due to HP Fire as well.
Done.

Disregarding for the time being because Crawdaunt is hardly used right now, they (Crawdaunt, not Rotom-W) ran +Speed fairly often at the end of ORAS, and Rotom-W spreads will probably settle a bit once time elapses, but for now, I'm just listing max and min speed (if an OU moderator finds this pressing, they can add it, but I find it unnecessary for the time being, at least).
Probably worth adding Zygarde-10%

361 / Zygarde-10% / 115 / +Spe / 252 / 0

Added +Spe to the 115+ list, but Adamant isn't going to be added b/c Adamant is dumb to use on Zygarde-10%, imo.

Added the max+ +1 and max+ +0 Porygon-Z, not going to add any other spreads quite yet.

it looks like other talon mentions were removed, so you should probably snag this one, too, unless it's for a fast band set or something.

Mega Aggron is listed despite being unavailable.

I'm in favor of inclusive lists and all, but are the base forms of Diancie, Ampharos, Lopunny, Gallade, and Manectric very important to keep listed? Considering their lack of megas, I have my doubts any of these Pokemon would see serious use on a competitive team.

Also, pre Mega speed no longer applies due to the new mechanics. Diancie I could see potentially not evolving to take a hit, but Lop is pretty irrelevant now. Plus the unreleased Mega stone thing Disjunction mentioned

Done (deleted Diancie b/c it's nonexistent right now, but if regular Diancie somehow gains usage, I will add it). Note that I kept all of the mentions of regular Sharpedo as it has Speed Boost and the mega evolution doesn't always happen instantaneously, let alone quickly/the first time it is in the game.

Other things I added (if I don't specify, assume only +Spe): +2 Tornadus (Tailwind), +2 Sharpedo (Mega) with +Spe and Neutral, +2 Charizard (Mega-X) with +Spe (252 and 184 Spe EVs) and Neutral, +2 Landorus-Therian with +Spe and Neutral (252 and 232 Spe EVs), +2 Lucario with +Spe and Neutral, +2 Sharpedo with +Spe and Neutral, +1 Latias, +1 Sharpedo (Mega) with +Spe and Neutral, +1 Landorus and Thundurus-Therian, +1 Charizard (Mega-X) with +Spe (252 and 184 Spe EVs) and Neutral, +2 Aegislash with +Spe and Neutral, +1 Sharpedo with +Spe and Neutral, +2 Omastar with +Spe and Neutral, +1 Zygarde, +1 Heracross, +1 Dragonite, +1 Tyrantrum, +1 Bisharp, +1 Breloom, Zygarde-10%, Mienshao, Charizard (Mega-X), Hydreigon with +Spe and Neutral, Zygarde with +Spe and Neutral, Roserade, moved the group of Pokemon that creeped to 264 Speed to 266 Speed because Neutral Xurkitree hits 265 Speed, and moved group of Pokemon that creeped to 220 Speed to 222 Speed because Neutral Tyranitar and Celesteela hit 221 Speed.

Next thing on the to-do list is to re-alphabetize the list for every speed number as through the extensive editting and remaking for this generation, lots of the orders simply got added onto, changed, etc. and the alphabetization is no longer there.

Please continue to comment with any potential changes, additions, revisions, mistakes, etc. -- thanks everyone!

Can I ask what -spe Tyranitar is for?
Martin is correct - SR mixed Tyranitar often runs -Spe because it's simply the least useful stat on it.

I have alphabetized every single list for Pokemon that share the same base Speed and Speed #. I have also reorganized some of the tiers in order to make it a bit more even and organized. Should be solid overall quality now, but still looking for any potential changes, so don't hesitate to leave your thoughts if you notice anything -- thank you!

Add:

240 / Mew, Celebi, Manaphy, Jirachi, Zapdos / 100 / Neutral / 16 / 0
137 / Rhyperior / 40 / Neutral / 84 / 0 (I normally run this on CB but it's super niche given that it's Rhyperior and all so you could take or leave this)

Remove:

244 / Garchomp / 102 / Neutral / 16 / 0 (This Garchomp spread is super suboptimal 'cause it is really bad if the thing you are trying to check risks outpacing+flinching with a +2 Iron Head)
236 / Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Mew, Zapdos / 100 / Neutral / 0 / 0 (I kind of understand why it's on there, but this feels super redundant to me considering that base 100s never run no speed investment, with them typically going no slower than what they need to creep neutral 70s (16 EVs))

As for the 240 Pokemon, I moved them to 244, as I said before, because Magnezone can now run 31 Speed IV HP Fire (meaning that Max+ hits 240 and it's much more viable as it now outpaces 239s), Max+ Aegi (rare, but noteworthy) hits 240, and +Spe Max Speed Tyranitar and Celesteela hit 243. Once Aegi drops and we see how Mag settles, I'll probably end up moving it back to 240, but for now this whole group is already at 244 and going to stay there for the time being.

Adding Rhyph.

Chomp was one of the 240 Pokemon I moved to 244 for the time being, but I'm willing to remove it outright b/c slow Chomp like this is and has been bad forever, imo, so I'll get rid of it. I feel like keeping the base 100 0 Speed mark in general couldn't hurt, so I'll keep it, but if others want it removed, I'll budge - just seems like a nice reference point.

Do people really memorize all of this? O.O
To an extent, most people remember base speed stats and the corresponding stats and you can kinda work from there. It's more so for perhaps more niche sets that may run a particular amount of speed.

Unless you play often, you wouldn't be expected to remember this all which is why this resource is here!

Generally speaking, there are a few notable benchmarks that people remember; for me these are things like positive/neutral 70s, max 110s, adamant/jolly Tar etc. -- stuff that I commonly creep. That said, generally you shouldn't need to keep checking this in a match, as generally speaking you will know what you outpace just based on what you EV to outpace, and if you are desparate to check something mid-game the teambuilder is typically faster. That said, it's nice to have it all in one place when teambuilding.

Nobody fully "memorizes" speed tiers. What HC and Martin said are correct, for the most part. Generally, you gain knowledge of where the common Pokémon stand and where Pokémon with common base Speed hit when they are fully invested. Generally speaking, common benchmarks and base speeds become common knowledge to experienced players.

While your question is very much valid and I am glad we could answer it (hope it helped!), please direct further questions of this nature to this thread. While Speed Tier discussion belongs here, I would like for most, if not all, of the comments to pertain to improving upon the current Speed Tiers in the OP and I do not want this to get cluttered. Therefore, the questions are best placed in the Simple Questions Simple Answers thread due to that being the purpose of that thread. Thanks for understanding!
