[OVERVIEW]

Elekid is one of the fastest Pokemon in LC, with an amazing 20 Speed as its most remarkable feature. It also has good Attack and Special Attack base stats, which can make Elekid an strong offensive presence, with good STAB moves like Thunderbolt and Volt Switch and coverage options like Psychic, Cross Chop, and Fire Punch in its arsenal. Sadly, Elekid doesn't have much going for it defensively, which means it faces competition from similar Electric-type attackers Magnemite and Chinchou. As a frail attacker, Elekid's role is straightforward, but it relies on outspeeding and KOing its foes, which it sometimes struggles with due to its decent but not stellar attacking stats, especially when facing Ground-types.

ability: Vital Spirit
nature: Timid / Hasty
evs: 240 SpA / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Volt Switch is Elekid's primary attack, which allows Elekid to act as a pivot and provides decent offensive potential because of Elekid's passable Special Attack stat. Thunderbolt is a more powerful STAB move that doesn't require Elekid to switch out and deals a lot of damage. Psychic is one of Elekid's main coverage moves, allowing it to hit most Fighting- and Poison-types Pokemon super effectively. Hidden Power Grass is used for hit the Ground-types and Chinchou, which can easily survive Elekid's other moves. Cross Chop is another option that Elekid can use to act as a mixed sweeper, hitting Munchlax and Steel-types like Ferroseed.

Set Details
========

240 EVs in SpA are used to maximize Elekid's offensive capacity, and 236 EVs in Speed maximize its Speed. If Cross Chop is used, 12 EVs in Attack raise Elekid's Attack by one point. Vital Spirit benefits Elekid's Foongus matchup, blocking Spore. Life Orb boosts the power of Elekid's moves. 9 IVs in HP give Elekid 19 HP, which minimizes the recoil of Life Orb. A Timid nature is used to reach a 20 Speed, outspeeding every unboosted Pokemon and tying with Diglett, but a Hasty nature can be used if Elekid is running Cross Chop to avoid lowering its Attack stat.

Usage Tips
========

This set relies on not taking any hit, as Elekid's low bulk makes every attack dangerous, so Elekid shouldn't switch into an attacking foe. Due to its incredible Speed, Elekid can act as a revenge killer. To increase the efficacy of this set, Chinchou and Ground-types should be removed by Elekid's teammates. Chinchou, thanks to Volt Absorb, can switch into Elekid's STAB moves and recover part of its health, and many Ground-types can stomach Hidden Power Grass, as it has low power. Strong priority attackers should also be removed, as Elekid's low bulk leaves it susceptible to priority moves. Elekid should take advantage of predicted switches by using Volt Switch to gain momentum or by using Hidden Power Grass if you predict a Chinchou or Ground-type to switch in.

Team Options
========

Elekid appreciates the momentum given by slow pivoting, best provided by teammates such as Mienfoo, Vullaby, and, in some cases, Pancham and Alolan Meowth. Grass-types in general are good partners, as they can check Chinchou and the Ground-types that threaten Elekid. As such, Pokemon like Foongus and Snivy are recommended to use with it. Foongus can tank hits from many Ground-types and cripple them with Spore, and Snivy can act as a speed check with Glare, taking out every Ground-type foe with Leaf Storm. Entry hazards are more important for Elekid, as they can force switches, and the residual damage helps Elekid to knock out many Pokemon. For Stealth Rock support, Onix and Ferroseed are good choices, with the former acting as a utility lead and the latter beating some Ground-types and Shell Smash users such as Omanyte, Tirtouga, and Shellder. Dwebble and Omanyte provide Spikes support, and Mareanie can set Toxic Spikes, doing status damage to ease Elekid's job. Elekid needs Knock Off support in order to function, as many Ground-types can otherwise take Hidden Power Grass. Due to its shared checks, Pawniard is a good choice, as it can help wear down Ground- and Fighting-types. Z-Memento is useful when Elekid is weakened and it's still needed to take down some of the opponent's Pokemon. Diglett and Cottonee are the best options for this. The recoil of Life Orb can put Elekid in a bad situation sometimes, and if there are hazards set on its side of the field, Elekid is left at a disadvantage. Hazard removers like Staryu and Vullaby are useful, as they prevent Elekid from taking more residual damage. If more safety against Ground-types is needed, Slowpoke can take every hit from them thanks to its good defensive stats and Regenerator. As Chinchou and other Electric-types still hinder Elekid, trappers such as Diglett can trap them and knock them out with safety.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A physical set can be used, but it's easier to wall, as some Ground-types like Mudbray can take its hits and KO it in response. Choice Scarf can be used as a niche set for outspeeding all opposing Choice Scarf Pokemon, mainly Doduo and Gastly, Vullaby after a Weak Armor boost, and Chlorophyll users, thus providing a surprise factor; however, Elekid really misses the power from Life Orb as well as the ability to switch moves. Quick Attack is an option for revenge killing, but Elekid is fast enough to revenge kill by itself. Thunder Wave cripples opposing Pokemon, but Elekid hardly ever uses it, as it's already faster than most of its foes. Brick Break can be used over Cross Chop in the mixed set, as it has more accuracy, but it is noticeably weaker. Ice Punch and Icium Z can be used for the physical set, but aside from dispatching some Ground-types, it's often a waste of its item and a moveslot. Fire Punch can work over Psychic or Cross Chop as an alternative to beat Ferroseed faster, but Cross Chop already does enough against it. Substitute can be used to take advantage of a switch from the opponent to safely knock more Pokemon out, but due to Elekid's low bulk and the Life Orb recoil, it isn't worth it over another coverage move.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Chinchou**: Chinchou walls Elekid completely and can switch into Electric-type moves thanks to Volt Absorb, but it should be wary of Hidden Power Grass.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Drilbur and Mudbray are only 2HKOed and 3HKOed by Hidden Power Grass, respectively, and they KO Elekid in return. Hippopotas, though little more uncommon, is only sometimes 3HKOed and knocks Elekid out with Earthquake. Lastly, though it's very uncommon, Numel takes any of Elekid's attacks well and it can KO it. Diglett can sometimes handle Elekid, but it relies on a Speed tie. Trapinch reliably traps Elekid, as it can take its hits with ease.

**Bulky Special Pokemon**: Munchlax can deal with non-Cross Chop variants with ease due to its monstrous Special Defense. Spritzee also can take hits very well thanks to its good Special Defense.

**Strong Priority**: Due to Elekid's low bulk, many priority attacks like Quick Attack from Doduo or Sucker Punch from Pawniard can leave it in range of a KO.

[OVERVIEW]

Mention that because of its poor bulk, Elekid is very susceptible to priority moves
Mention that 20 speed ties for fastest in the meta
I wouldn't call Elekid's attacking stats "great" - maybe change this to "good".
Building on this, maybe add that because of Elekid's frailty, it relies on outspeeding and KOing opponents, which sometimes it struggles to do due to its decent but not stellar attack stats.
I'm not really seeing how Elekid is super trappable...Diglett has to rely on a speed tie, and Elekid can switch out on Gothita with Volt Switch. Trapinch can be an issue I suppose, but I'm not sure that's enough to merit this line being in the overview.

[SET]
I'm not convinced Substitute is still good in this meta due to the decreased prevalence of Pawniard. If you feel strongly about this, feel free to convince me otherwise.

Make sure you mention that Volt Switch is what gives Elekid the ability to act as a pivot
Thunderbolt doesn't hit anything that resists Volt Switch, I have no idea what you meant there.
If you keep Substitute, mention that it can also be used to bypass Sucker Punch
Hidden Power Grass is only needed for Chinchou, not Water-types in general

Set Details

I don't think Static really benefits Elekid, since it rarely survives Physical hits. I'd say something like Static can paralyze Pokemon that attack Elekid, assisting its team in the long run.

Usage Tips
========

Specify what exactly needs to be worn down (Chinchou, Ground types), and why (so Elekid can spam Volt Switch)
Don't switch Elekid into any attacks
Add that the only times Elekid should not be switching or Volt Switching out of battle are when it can KO the Pokemon it is up against, as taking a hit will usually be bad

Team Options
========

Pokemon that give momentum allow Elekid in by pivoting slowly (specify this)
I'd change Snivy and Foongus to Grass types in general, and specify Snivy and Foongus
Elekid likes all hazard support, not just Stealth Rock
You don't just want to list the most common users for any move, but ones that synergize well with Elekid
Not sure why pursuit matters for elekid? It's one of the few Pokemon not revenge killed by Gastly and Abra. I'd take this out.
Add bulky water types which can beat opposing ground types
Add Diglett and specially defensive Trapinch which can handle opposing electric types

- Wild Charge is its principal STAB, and deal a brutal damage to many things.
- Fire Punch is a coverage options for Grass-types such as Snivy, Foongus and Ferroseed.
- Cross Chop is used for Steel-types such as Magnemite and Pawniard.
- Volt Switch gives momentum, which it's important to keep it away from threats. Ice Punch works as an alternative if you want to deal great damage to the Ground-types.

Set Details

- Elekid maximizes its Speed investment, as in the special attacker set, to outspeed all the entire unboosted metagame. The remaining EVs, in this case, go into Attack for boost its acceptable Attack as much as possible. It also runs 9 IVs in HP to reduce Life Orb recoil.
- As in the special set, Static paralyze Pokemon that attack Elekid, assisting its team in the long run.
- A Jolly Nature is used for boost its Speed stat to 20.
- Life Orb boosts the power of its attacks, making them more stronger.

Usage Tips
========

- Don't switch Elekid into anything due to its low bulk and its tendency to get worn down by Life Orb recoil.
- It should be brought in for revenge kill, due to its Speed.
- For make it work, Ground-types that resist its Ice Punch and Chinchou should be weakened first.
- Strong priority should also be removed.
- Elekid can get worn down even more quickly with Wild Charge.

Team Options

- As in the special set, it appreciates the momentum from Pokemon like Mienfoo, Larvesta, Vullaby.
- Grass-types like Snivy and Foongus can deal with the Ground-types that can resist Elekid's Ice Punch.
- Knock Off support is also good, from Pokemon like Pawniard, Vullaby, Mienfoo, Scraggy.
- Hazard support ease Elekid's offensive capacity to take down many Pokemon as possible. Ferroseed, Onix, Dwebble and Omanyte are solid partners for this function.
- Z-Memento support is very essential in this set, due to the double recoil of Life Orb and Wild Charge. Diglett and Cottonee can help it by restoring its health.
- Ground-types like Diglett, Trapinch or Mudbray can take care of Chinchou, as it walls this set even harder.

I think Scarf Elekid does deserve a mention in Other Options, since it finds a niche in its ability to outspeed things like Scarf Doduo, Vullaby after Weak Armor, Shell Smash users and Chlorophyll users. It also has a great surprise factor.
Yeah that's fine actually. No other choice items pls though...

But some disadvantages of using Elekid are that its typing makes it difficult to fit onto a team, being less used than other Electric-types like Magnemite and Chinchou - I don't like this sentence, I don't think it's typing is that bad, - maybe say that it doesn't have much defensive presence which means it faces competition from Magnemite and Chinchou

we decided on discord that the slashes should be:
Psychic
Hidden Power Grass / Cross Chop

change the order of the sentences to reflect this.

slash Vital Spirit with Static, and write a sentence in Set Details about how that means it can switch into a predicted Sleep move from Foongus

whilst giving Pawniard as an example of a steel type isn't bad at all, I'd prefer to use Ferroseed as the example since Pawniard won't really switch into Elekid, whilst Ferroseed will. Also say it is for Munchlax

"This set relies on not taking any hit, as Elekid's low bulk makes that every hit, including priority moves, can be fatal for it, so Elekid mustn't switch." - don't say mustn't, just say shouldn't often - Mustn't implies there are no reasons to switch, but there are a few, such as predicted sleep or paralysis move and very weak resisted hits.

"For increase the efficacy of this set, Chinchou and Ground-types should be removed. Chinchou, thanks to Volt Absorb, can switch into Elekid's STAB moves and recover part of its health, and many Ground-types can resist the Hidden Power Grass." - Ground-types don't resist Hp Grass - just say that it has low power so doesn't always do that much to them.

just delete the diglett sentence, i don't believe it's too relevant

"If Elekid can KO the Pokemon its up against, it shouldn't change or Volt Switch, as it wastes the opportunity to ease its partners' work." - this makes no sense, rephrase to, 'Elekid should take advantage of predicted switches by using Volt Switch to gain momentum, or using Hidden Power Grass if you predict a Chinchou or Ground-type switch'

"Hazards are very helpful in Elekid's purpose, as it mitigates Sturdy users and Pokemon that bring Focus Sash." - Hazards are more important for Elekid as it can force switches, and helps it

"Due to its coverage, Pawniard is an optimal choice." - rephrase to "Pawniard is a good choice, as it can help wear down Ground-, and Fighting-types."

"Z-Memento is important" - Z-memento isn't exactly important, it's just useful. rephrase to reflect that

"Staryu and Vullaby are needed" - again, not 100% needed, but just very useful.

"Trapinch is a recommended option, as it can take care of Diglett, and prevent the speed tie." - remove this sentence, diglett has a lot more uses than trapinch so I would never recommened Trapinch over it.

"Choice Scarf can be used as a niche for outspeed all Scarf Pokemon, principally Doduo and Gastly, Vullaby after a Weak Armor boost, and Chlorophyll users, being a surprise factor, but it can be revenge killed easily by a trapper like Diglett." - remove the bold - change to: ", but Elekid really misses the power from Life Orb, as well as the ability to switch moves."

"Chinchou can deal with the physical set with no problem" - the physical set doesn't have an analysis, so don't bother mentioning that

SpDef Eviolite Mudbray avoids the 2HKO from HP Grass

just move the diglett mention to the ground-types section - however mention that it's not that reliable since it relies on a speed tie. Gothita isn't the best at trapping elekid, since it has to have a scarf, otherwise elekid volt switches out, so just remove the trappers section. In fact, Trapinch is the most reliale trapper to Elekid so mention that.

"Munchlax can deal with the special set with ease due to its monstruous base Special Defense, but it should be careful if it is the physical set." - change to: "Munchlax can deal with the special set with ease due to its monstruous base Special Defense, but it should be careful of Cross Chop."

change all this and then it's 3/3

Just as a note, try to avoid using words like 'Must' and 'Need' if they're not 100% necessary

Foongus can tank hits from many Ground-types and cripple them with Spore, and Snivy can act as a speed check with Glare, taking out every Ground-type foe with Leaf Storm. Entry hazards are more important for Elekid, (AC) as they can force switches, and the residual damage helps Elekid to knock out many Pokemon. For Stealth Rock support, Onix and Ferroseed are good choices, with the former acting as a utility lead (RC) and the latter one beating some Ground-types and Shell Smash users such as Omanyte, Tirtouga, and Shellder. Dwebble and Omanyte provide Spikes support, and Mareanie can set Toxic Spikes, doing status damage to ease Elekid's job. Elekid needs Knock Off support in order to function in order, as many Ground-types can otherwise take the Hidden Power Grass. Due to its shared checks, Pawniard is a good choice, as it can help wear down Ground- and Fighting-types. Z-Memento is useful when Elekid is weakened and it's still needed to take down some of the opponent's Pokemon from the opponent.

=============

A physical set can be used, but it's easier to wall, as some Ground-types like Mudbray can take its hits (RC) and KO it in response. Choice Scarf can be used as a niche set for outspeeding all opposing Choice Scarf Pokemon, principally mainly Doduo and Gastly, Vullaby after a Weak Armor boost, and Chlorophyll users, thus being providing a surprise factor; however, Elekid really misses the power from Life Orb as well as the ability to switch moves. Substitute can be used to take advantage of a switch from the opponent to safely knock more Pokemon out, but due to its Elekid's low bulk and the Life Orb recoil, it isn't worth it over another coverage move.

Checks and Counters
===================

Lastly, but the though it's very uncommon, Numel takes any of Elekid's attacks well and it can KO it.
