Pokémon GO

Got my last Omanyte, so I evolve it in Lord Helix !

Need 20 candies for Dragonite, and of course damn LAPRAS !

All the eggs groups were changed ... ?

try an Ice Biome or a water Biome.
whichever clown passed this feature needs to be fired:
I see a gym, 1 Lapras inside (no battle animation) capture the pokemon nearby.
still no battle animation
select Magnaton
attack gym... someone already attacking it (no animation...)
Magnaton fainted
Jolteon Fained
Vaporeon Half HP
I got ONE attack off then battle ended.
seriously? who decided that this BS was a good idea? I am getting low on revives, and this BS after I crash attacking another gym, and have to heal the pokemon after timing out.

Alright, so the new things are

1. CUSTOMIZATION OPTION
Yep, time for more outfits. I play on iOS so I couldn't get it earlier, but I saw some who used Android apk appli had quite interesting outfit choices. White lower outfits, finally.
This also include Skin, Shirt, Pants, Hat, Shoes, Eyes, Gloves, Socks, Belt, Necklace, and Glasses.

Some will be unlocked after certain level or medals achieved. Some others will be for sale for coins.

Oh, and I saw someone hatless.

2. NEW BERRIES
They are: (I forgot what are those called in Jap)
+ Pinap - Doubles Candy obtained when next catch is success.
+ Nanab - calms down Pokemon, making them move slower, easier to hit with balls.
Pinap will be very useful when encountering something like Chansey. Even better when it's Halloween or Valentine where Candy is doubled by default for event.
I have practiced against Golbats, caught Dragonite successfully several times (9:10 or perfect record), and have lots of greater balls already. Think I need only like 10 in case of rares. Although then again, there will also be new ways Pokemon resist catching attempts, so this is for that.

3. EVO. ITEMS
Apparently discovered by mining before. Will be available on Stops. Now Onix?, Scyther?, and Seadra will be useful, and Slowpoke will have branch evolution into King. Will be interesting with possible different movesets. My only problem is them taking bag spaces, I'll have to adjust my bag....

... still hoping Espeon and Umbreon won't depend on Random Number Arceus....

4. SHINY POKEMON
Let's see which is more important this time, perfect Pokemon or Shiny Pokemon. And the cries of those who get Bulldoze shiny Arcanines and the likes.

5. NEW BADGES
Remember, we have no Dark Pokemon yet in Gen1, although at least we had Steel and Fairy already. Also, Johto badge; Pokedex completion is separated for each generation, apparently. Let's get catching again.

6. New Musics
... eh, I'm already content with listening to core game musics on other appli when opening GO....

7. Throwing changes
Apparently someone said Dragonites are closer now. And balls are now projecting further. Good thing since I don't like those faraway mon or those whose throwing range is absurdly limited (I hate you, Ptera).

There'll be more things... I heard of Hidden Power on Unown.
I'll see if I don't just set a 21-hr alarm and do something more productive this time.

Oh, and Pokemon Box upgrade 50% sale on Feb 16-28. Now if only they also increase limit of full upgrade, hopefully... but this is your chance for those who don't upgrade it to maximum yet.

So I guess the update went live properly now, because I just saw about 5 Gen 2 Pokemon clustered around me the moment I opened the app at the dining hall. Maybe it's me, but Aipom was a bitch to catch. Broke about 12 Great balls and 5 Ultra Balls with Razz Berries

holy shit holy shit holy shit i feel the same hype as when the game first came out

MASSIVE move updates, looks like nearly every move got a base power change. gonna be so much fun to figure out what's good or not again

Oh great, so it happens....

I hate to be that one person, but... on Gym meta right now....

WHAT IN THE DISTORTION WORLD ARE YOU DOING NIANTIC?!?!!

Ahem, so they do not change the CP formula, which means Blissey is still as broken as feared. But the problem is now they tweaked the moves' cooldown.
I see they generally reduce the average Quick Move's DPS, while buffing many Charged Move's power.
Thundershock?, Bug Bite, and Fury Cutter? is nerfed with longer cooldown, yet their base power is still the measly same value. Jolteon and Parasect? is now garbage thanks to this with their inability to dodge as good as before. Now I fear for different reason than before, Jolteon can't even win against Vaporeon again, and Gyarados laughs at him while Bite is buffed.
I doubt I could even break through Lv10 gyms now, while before I could with careful dodging and carefully selected teams.

Forget Blissey, I don't think I can't even win against Snorlax because of the average quick move DPS down with less dodging.

Oh, and Confusion? hurts.

There will also be legacy movesets it seems. Arcanine doesn't learn Flamethrower anymore. My Arcanine I prepared to put near grandpa's grave is now a legacy with Fire Fang?/Flamethrower, a good thing.
Dragonite has now lower Dragon Tail instead of Dragon Breath?. And keeps only Hyper Beam? while getting Hurricane? and Outrage? instead of two previous dragon moves. Seems like new Dragonite is nerfed in new movesets compared to previous.
Well, good thing my outstanding low-level Dragonite has breath and Pulse?, will be great now. Nah, Outrage has better DPS, sighs....

Also, I have to readjust my throwing. Curved throws are now projecting much further, I kept failing to do it before. Got to take time until I'm fully used to it again....

that moment where you check the genders of the pokemon and find the 100% Dragonite is Female :D
I had to change some of my lovely Vaporeons' name to males. At least one of the best remains female, but others, I have to swap it.

I hatched 2 Chansey and 1 Snorlax ! WHERE IS MY F***ING LAPRAS ? :(
Lapras doesn't exist at all :'(

You will be very happy to hear that Lapras has been nerfed. They finally applied the CP update to Lapras. Mine went down from roughly 2600 CP to 2200 CP.

Also a list of general changes in the new update: https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/gen-2-data-collection
be sure to buy Pokemon storage upgrades - they're half price until 28th Feb!

Also speaking of move base changes
Confusion went up to 20
Solarbeam went up to 180
Exeggutor is now a behemoth of destruction

In addition to that, it may also learn Water Gun, which is pretty much meh.

Still, it is the best Dragon killer. with the update making the gameplay slower due to cooldown tweak, I don't know what other anti-Dragon I can or will want to use....

Already caught a few new Johto mons... City near me must be in an Swinub biome... There was at least 4 everywhere.

Can't believe how much they are charging for the clothing options... Day light robbery and people will pay it. A Top Hat is 800 Coins... Also someone at Niantic doesn't understand what socks are.

I'm vaguely tempted to drop a tenner on it and get some incubators and a storage deck upgrade, but on the other hand I also like my money going to decent developers and not morons. Still no proper PvP or trading even with this update... And now they've introduced items to evolve certain mons too. The games made these items easy-ish to get... In GO you have to hope Lady Luck is on your side and they drop from a PokeStop. I've only ever seen one Scyther anyway, so Scizor is not looking hopeful for a long while yet.

I just want to complete my dex (bar regionals/legendary)

new gym battle slow attacks can gtfo, seriously, what sort of "balance" is making things attack so stupidly slow? 13 seconds left prestiging against a Vaporeon... unkillable high level Blissey.. (well I killed it but the game decided I had timed out despite it showing the fainting animation..) game now requires being level 35+ to play...

Use Blissey. It counters everything.

It actually does counter everything, but other Dragon-counters include Gyarados (now with Dragon Tail and Outrage, also resists Steel Wing) and Cloyster (about same offence stat, far better defence stat and hence more Potion-effiicient, but may need to dodge depending on Dragonite's level).

Oh, first of all, Espeon and Umbreon work with the nickname Sakura and Tamao.

Secondly, it seems plausibly confirmed that they do not depend on Random Number Arceus with specific way to evolve.
TSR people found that they get their Esp/Umbreon by having walked the Eevee as buddy for 10km and evolve them from buddy Pokemon profile during day/night time.

The 10km will be little hassle, but that they do not depend on RNG, Gracious Arceus yes!
