Zero, they made them just so that you can't participate (lol I didn't get ANY of them either, I saw the Jibaku Groudon and FDS Palkia giveaway happen right in front of me, but didn't take it lol) =D

Another question. How do people have more than 6 lines in their sig?
LOL, I actually fixed my wifi last night but that Lugia giveaway was already over by then too. xD

For Focus Punch, the move fails (makes user flinch) if they are dealt damage. If you use it on a switch in or while recovering, Focus Punch is good. That's why Gengars sometimes carry it.

Does Clefable's "Magic Guard" negate the "Clefable is fully paralyzed! It can't move!" effect from Paralysis?

I just had a battle with Clefable vs. Lanturn and easily went 30+ turns without ever getting said message. If there's a 3/4 chance of not getting it, then (3^30) / (4^30) = 0.01786% chance of not being fully paralyzed once in 30 turns.

I believe those are the correct calculations. Can anybody confirm this?

For the record, here's Magic Guard's description:
Magic Guard said:
Spikes, Stealth Rock, Burn, Poison, Leech Seed, Hail, Sandstorm, Nightmare, Bad Dreams, Life Orb's 10% recoil damage, and regular recoil do no damage to this Pokemon. Struggle's recoil, however, will still damage a Magic Guard Pokemon. Note that this Pokemon can be Poisoned or Burned, but it will not take any damage. Burn's attack drop will still apply. Leech Seed will neither damage a Magic Guard Pokemon nor heal its enemy.

Such impeccable luck seem to be impossible.

Improbable. Shit happens in Pokémon though. Magic Guard JUST guards against damage. It's still epic though.

Paralysis is a 10% chance (Serebii's "status" page, as well as most of their dex, sucks). .9^30 is a 4% chance of never parahaxing. (Also, in your calc, it should be 1%, not .01 percent. I'm guessing you forgot to multiply times 100.) I hope I helped.

Hrm, isn't paralysis a 25% chance? There's no way it's 10%, that's for sure. :|

And no, I definitely did multiply by 100.
0.75^30 = 1.7858 x 10^-4 = 0.00017858 = 0.017858%

I understand it's improbably due to the nature of Magic Guard, but as I said, those are some crazy odds.

What would happen in this situation
Deoxys A sent out
Deosxys S sent

Deoxys A is holding a Focus Sash

Deoxys S uses knock off (a critical hit)
deoxys F looses 150%

now would the focus sash save deoxys f from being koed immediately or does the affect of knock off work before the focus sash

First, the Sash is used. Then, Knock Off checks if Deoxys-A has an item. As the Sash was already used, it doesn't find anything to remove and... Deoxys-A survived your attack and you're screwed.

Okay this Celebi sucks, but I still wanna use it! I need a good ev spread for it.
Moveset:
Psychic
Leech Seed
Calm Mind
Recover

216 Hp nets me 368 Hp, which nets me a clean 23 HP every turn.
212 Spd Lets me outspeed Adamant Garchomp at a sexy 305
Now I don't know what to toss the last 82 evs into...

Hasty
Hp:4
Atk:8
Def:25
Sp.atk:28
Sp.def:11
Spd.:20

Without the 82 evs,
Defense is a crappy 206
Sp. Atk is a useful 233
Sp. Def is a meh... 216

With 82 evs...
Defense is a better 224
Sp.atk is a respectable 253
And Sp. Def which will be boosted with calm mind later, would be a very nice 236.

Please help me decide where to distribute the final 82, or help me come up with a much better spread....Please!

Can someone explain to me how does exactly the cloning code work? I want to know if my failures are either because the code is wrong, or because I didn't really get how to use it...

Mario, I don't own an AR, but recommend you ask FDS (link to his profile is in my thread in the Hall of Recognition). He is the best cloner on Smogon hands down, and will probably easily teach you how! =D

who is the strongest user of focus punch? (assume there all hiting the same pokemon (non ghost bold/252def) and run adamant/252atk

Deoxys (attack)=highest base attack at 180
Machamp = highest STAB punch at 130
Hitmonchan = 105 base but has iron fist

Can someone go in more detail about the move "Me First"? When you select the move do you get to choose a move right after? Can you use it twice in a row? Or do you waste a turn using it and you go first the rest of the battle.....

wow...now i suddenly feel sorry for blissey :(

ty mario

me first requires you to be faster then your opponent for it to work
yes you can choose a move right after as long as your not carrying a choice item
on shoddy it wont let me use it twice in a row (kinna like fake out)

245 speed is more realistic...And with this nature, Celebi reaches 247 speed on its own,

152 Hp gives me a modest 352, and a clean 22 leftovers
118 Sp.Def gives me a workable 245
240 Def is 260, which is very nice.

Is this a useful spread?

I was wondering if it would be better to have Ice Punch over Ice Beam on the Hasty Mewtwo in my Sig, as it is Choice Banded, no EVs in Sp. Attack and a low Sp. Attack stat.

I'd go with Ice Punch since its Sp.Attack IV Is Very Low.
