In this metagame, whenever you add one of the "accessories" below to a Pokemon, you transform it. Each item adds or changes the secondary typing and carries a 50 base point bonus and a 10 base point penalty. Like with Mega Stones, the items cannot be removed. Otherwise abilities and movepools stay the same.

This will be OU-based with standard clauses. Future bans and unbans will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, determined by the co-leaders.

Also keep in mind all other items are usable. Leftovers, Choice items, Focus Sash, Mega Stones, and whatever else you want are still great additions to any team!

Accessories:

  • The items function like Mega Stones: they cannot be removed.

  • They DO NOT add the 20% type bonus anymore. Remember: new STABs gain 50% in power already.
  • The accessory will display in battle as [Accessory Name] under the Pokemon.
  • Pokémon holding Accessories can gain 1 additional move of the corresponding Accessory's type.

Maybe this is just me, but this sounds like an OM rather than a Pet Mod. :P
Still is neat though.

P.S: If you need a co-leader, I’m happy to help.

Sets in a bit

No sets soon because I'm on mobile :'/, but I have a suggestion: we could make shiny Pokemon to get the item's type as a primary typing instead of as the secondary, then more things like Stakataka or another mons with a better secondary typing than their primary one could abuse the new mechanics.

Yung Dramps

Ability: Berserk
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Adamant Nature

Hell yeah, with either Charcoal or Dragon Fang, now Serperior has an actual Special Attack and great dual STABs. Not much else to say.

Oh wow sounds a lot like the plate typing idea that I posted in the oms, only difference is the items give stat boosts, anyhow im glad it exists in one a form somewhere

Don't have time right now to post 300 sets as I usually do but I'll give some initial thoughts

Sharp beak sounds a bit overwhelming, instant +30 speed makes any mon a great revenge killer and boosts their attack too while gaining a great offensive high powered stab in bb sounds overwhelming for offense, same goes for electric. maybe tone down the speed boost a lil?

Normal ghost bewear sounds interesting as a spectral thief user, especially with fluffy weakening knock off and phys attacks

Poison fairy to Toxapex with 50/172/162 defenses, how fun, poison fairy nidoqueen is also pretty nice with 90/112/110 defenses

Too many mons can abuse bolt beam oh god, koko is better again as always

Check out the Pet Mod discussion thread. I was an old OM from Gen 6 that was discussed to be brought back as a Pet Mod

Magnezone @ Charcoal
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Substitute / Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Searing Shot / Blue Flare
Magnezone has arrived to shit on Steel mons for leaving set up sweepers room for coverage options outside of Fire or Ground.

Mimikyu @ Black Belt
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shadow Sneak / Shadow Claw
- Mach Punch / Close Combat
- Drain Punch
- Swords Dance
Now it has an actual Attack and Speed stat, all with an unresisted STAB combination and a great ability to set-up on Disguise.

Clefable @ Metal Coat
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Scald / Waterfall
- Gyro Ball / Earthquake
- Recover
- Toxic / Curse
Why the hell do i want to die? Thanks to god that the Magnezone set of above can easily deal with these, but they're still a pain on the butt for setup sweepers.

Shedinja @ Metal Coat
Ability: Wonder Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
IVs: 0 Def / 0 SpA / 0 SpD
- Sunsteel Strike
- Will-O-Wisp / Swords Dance
- X-Scissor
- Protect / Swords Dance

Only 1 weakness + SSS for like.. other Shedinjas n' stuff I guess.

Reuniclus @ Charcoal
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Mind Blown
- Thunder

Mind Blown with no recoil, lmao.

Excadrill (M) @ Hard Stone
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Poison Jab / Rapid Spin / Filler

Gains Rock typing, which means you get more spdef in sand, aswell. Edge/Quake with Diamond Storm is pretty cool since you can potentially gain defence. The lowered speed kinda sucks, but oh well.

Celesteela @ Cherish Ball
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 112 Def / 148 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Moonblast / Flamethrower / Heavy Slam
- Moonblast / Flamethrower / Heavy Slam

Disgusting.

New Stats: 125 / 200 / 110 / 130 / 80 / 95

Kyurem-Black @ Soft Sand (Dragon / Ground)
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thousand Arrows Precipice Blades
- Dragon Claw
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt

Obligatory "Kyurem-Black gets good STAB lol" set. But jeez, this thing is nuts. Base 200 Attack, with STAB, on the most spammable move in the entire game? That's absolutely ludicrous. Its Speed stat is still mediocre at best, even with the potential Speed creep this metagame may see, but with power like that, I don't really think it needs much else to see some use.

EDIT: Okay, they banned Thousand Arrows after I made this post, and I can understand why. That doesn't change the fact that Ground is still an incredible offensive typing, and Kyurem-Black still gets incredible coverage off of Precipice Blades.

New Stats: 89 / 165 / 85 / 105 / 75 / 125

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Ascent
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn

I honestly feel like Sharp Beak and Magnet will be pretty nice for their boosts alone, and this is just an example for how they could work. Landorus-T's already great Attack stat gets buffed to levels that rival some Megas, and its Speed tier went from something that required boosts to something that would probably hold up quite nicely even with the Speed creep this metagame will most likely provide. If Steel/Flying becomes a common typing in this meta, that might be problematic, but Gravity and Smack Down are still decent enough options. I'd also expect a Defensive set for this thing to pop up somewhere, and its typing could be better for that, but options are a bit more limited (Ground would always be primary, but Grass, Normal, and Fairy are your only other options).

New Stats: 55 / 120 / 95 / 50 / 95 / 101

Mimikyu @ Black Belt (Ghost / Fighting)
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Shadow Sneak
- Shadow Claw
- Swords Dance

Mimikyu's biggest problems in standard play are a lack of a strong STAB move due to Play Rough not hitting Steels and Shadow Claw being week and mediocre Speed. HJK is an incredibly strong move on its own, and Shadow Claw deters Ghosts from coming in. Its Speed still might be a bit mediocre for this metagame, but having a stronger Shadow Sneak helps. Probably not going to be too great, but it will definitely have a niche in this metagame.

EDIT: Alright I started typing this a while ago, then had to leave, but now I'm back and someone else has posted this same set. HJK is probably what I'd think would be the best move for Mimikyu for being stronger than Close Combat and the damage reduction being minimal, as well as Mimikyu being able to survive SOME priority attacks otherwise.

New Stats: 73 / 95 / 62 / 123 / 66 / 152

Greninja @ Magnet (Water / Electric)
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt / Volt Switch / Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- U-turn / Spikes

The whole point of this set is to show that Greninja basically gets one move and some stat changes of choice. He doesn't even really need the move a lot of the time, since its coverage is so great, but I felt Magnet would still end up being the best item for it due to the crazy Speed buff. Ash-Gren can probably run something similar, but obviously needs to be more worried about its typing.

New Stats: 83 / 89 / 61 / 188 / 86 / 93

Xurkitree @ Twisted Spoon
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Agility
- Tail Glow
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Honestly just a meme. There are better stallbreakers out there, so I don't see this getting much use, especially since it's still too frail to do anything against offense. Maybe it could be okay against balance? I dunno.

New Stats: 74 / 94 / 146 / 74 / 131 / 10

Ferrothorn @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Strength Sap
- Stealth Rock / Spikes
- Toxic / Thunder Wave
- Power Whip / Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn honestly doesn't really need a different typing to put in work. It's such a great Pokemon as it its, one of its biggest problems in vanilla is that it can be pretty easy to wear down. Well, now, it can get Strength Sap, the most annoying move in the game and something that could easily turn it into a blanket check to a lot of physical attackers. The other three moves are pretty customizable, since Ferrothorn has a lot of options that it can still use here. Also, unfortunately, its primary typing is Grass, so it can't really change to any other typing without just getting worse, and Steel doesn't really offer many new moves for it to use.

New Stats: 255 / 5 / 30 / 75 / 160 / 45

Blissey (F) @ Cherish Ball (Normal / Fairy)
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Charm / Heal Bell
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss

May not be as good as Chansey, but it may find its use on some teams. Since Chansey can't change its typing without giving up Eviolite, Blissey gets to shine, with actually usable Defense considering its HP and a great defensive typing that's only weak to two rather uncommon offensive typing. The rest is standard, but Charm could be nice to weaken physical switchins.

New Stats: 107 / 139 / 154 / 53 / 78 / 69

Buzzwole @ Metal Coat (Bug / Steel)
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- King's Shield
- Lunge
- Roost
- Ice Punch

Okay now that this thing's SpDef isn't 100% garbage and it can get a good typing, Buzzwole looks interesting. The last moveslot is filler, but King's Shield seems really interesting to force some 50/50s, similar to Aegislash. Lunge also lowers Attack, but I guess Leech Life could be used too. I just see the utility of lowering Attack without King's Shield being a bit more appealing.

May post more later, this meta is fun to theorycraft about.

Banned deucer.
This is how Magearna was born...
clefable.gif First the Clefable the mother of Magearna
New Stats
95 HP
70 ATK
98 DEF
95 SPA
115 SPDEF
60 Speed

Clefable @ Metal Coat
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Stealth Rock

First thing I saw in this meta game was unique types. Steel/Fairy is a p unique type with only 3 mons getting the type.
This is the Spdef tank of the two eating up hits and throwing toxic's at the opp while soft boiling back up to full hp.
If they go into a psychical attacker well...lets look into the dad.

227Skarmory_OS_anime_2.png
New Stats
65 HP
80 ATK
165 DEF
40 SPATK
95 SPDEF
70 SPEED

Skarmory @ Cherish Ball
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Roost
- Nature's Madness

Now we already have a spdef tank next thing we need is a def tank!
This eats hits and sets up hazards to chip down the opp, aswell as throwing toxic's too!
While also spamming nature madness to also chip.
also maybe like add a ff with a flying type

Also kyub is really good in this meta (yea just like every other metagame)

Chansey looks fun with evio lol

Forgot to note, Thousand Arrows and Chatter are supposed to be banned from gaining.

Now some sets

Stats: 108/130/131/91/85/95
Zygarde @ Soft Sand
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Ability: Aura Break
Impish Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Substitute
- Coil
- Shore Up

Extremely potent set up sweeper thats pretty hard to break on the physical side.

Stats: 75/100/90/100/90/113
Serperior @ Charcoal
EVs: 50 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Ability: Contrary
Timid / Naive Nature
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- V-Create
- Leaf Storm

Set up at its finest. While other Serp sets benefit from high power dual STAB that double as Nasty Plot, this one utilizes V-Create to fatten up and boost its speed. Look out for Heatran tho.

Stats: 75/115/80/115/70/160 or 75/135/80/115/70/140
Tapu Koko @ Magnet / Never Melt Ice
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Electric Surge
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Dazzling Gleam / Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice] / U-Turn

Tapu Koko has ALOT of great sets in this meta, but I think these are easily its most viable.

With Koko, you can easily run Cherish Ball with Play Rough or give Plasma Fists to Koko with Magnet.

Mimikyu @ Sharp Beak
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Disguise
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Brave Bird
- Wood Hammer

Super fast and powerful. Yay!

An alternative set:

Stats: 110/143/95/100/65/65 or 110/123/80/120/80/65
Emboar @ Hard Rock / Miracle Seed
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant/Quiet Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Head Smash
- Rock Polish / Wood Hammer
- Bulk Up

A solid TR or double dance sweeper.

Really fun meta idea!

In preparation for the upcoming tour, I'd like to revive this thread by posting a few sets:

@

Araquanid @ Soft Sand
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Shore Up
- Liquidation
- Sticky Web
- Toxic

/

New stats: 68 HP / 100 Atk / 102 Def / 60 SpA / 122 SpDef / 42 Spe

Soft Sand is the perfect item for Araquanid to perform as the ultimate bulky tank. By trading a bad typing and a tidbit of Special Defense with a ton of Defense and a much better defensive typing, Araquanid is now more flexible than ever before. Losing Bug means losing weakness to Fire, and gaining Ground gives a useful Electric immunity, while Grass is uncommon besides on Serperior, which you lose to anyway. In fact, Araquanid is the best counters to Mind Blown Charcoal Alakazam, as it takes less than 25% from MB and can survive two Psychics. With 100 Attack and Liquidation, it can easily dent opponents, and with Shore Up, Sticky Web, and Toxic, it can beat offense and stall alike. As always, the popularity and viability of Charcoal and Metal Coat only make this set even more useful.

Of course, Soft Sand isn't the only viable item - Sharp Beak is nice for a bit more offense, letting Araquanid conserve more of its amazing special bulk and giving it access to Roost. Unfortunately the prevalence of Magnet hurts it, though. Silver Powder + Heal Order also sounds nice on paper, but I haven't tested it out.

@

Dhelmise @ Metal Coat
Ability: Steelworker
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- King's Shield
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Synthesis

/

New stats: 70 HP / 131 Atk / 125 Def / 86 SpA / 115 SpDef / 30 Spe

Wow, I've been testing this thing against Abyssal Bot and it's so incredibly powerful. Its bulk rivals that of Aegislash, but its power is incredibly immense. Steelworker + STAB Gyro Ball off of a 131 Attack stat and 30 Speed stat is absurdly strong, heavily punishing the abuse of Sharp Beak, Dragon Fang, and Never Melt Ice. I'm not even kidding, Gyro Ball easily OHKOs every viable offensive Pokemon in metagame that doesn't resist it--that means, "things with investment in 100+ Speed stats and less than 110 / 110 bulk". You don't even need to take advantage of the free Steel move as Gyro Ball and its already existing moves are far more than enough. For shits and giggles I put King's Shield, but now that Knock Off is fairly useless, I don't see it being extraordinarily useful.

@

Crawdaunt @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance
- Crunch

/

New stats: 63 HP / 130 Atk / 75 Def / 120 SpA / 65 SpDef / 55 Spe

Similar to Extreme Killer Arceus, and while frailer, it's much, much stronger. Adaptability + SD + ESpeed is a killer, and despite the prevalence of Steel-types, it picks off offensive Pokemon quite easily. Not as completely successful as the above two sets, but it can pull its weight, and is a great check to hyper offense. Its bulk is quite awful and its typing is bad defensively, but a couple of SD's and you'll cut through the opponent in no time.
