[OVERVIEW]

Normal
========

Chansey is one of the best walls in Monotype, and it is mandatory on balanced Normal-type teams because of the roles it provides. It has Eviolite to boost its bulk, Natural Cure to act as a status sponge, Soft-Boiled for reliable recovery, and access to useful utility moves such as Stealth Rock, Toxic, and Thunder Wave. Chansey forms potentially the best defensive core in the metagame with Porygon2 and Staraptor; this core is further supported by Ditto and strong priority users like Diggersby that prevent most forms of offensive counterplay. Unfortunately, Chansey saps any momentum due to its cripplingly low Speed and nonexistent offensive presence. It's also susceptible to stallbreakers such as Mew and is reliant on Eviolite, which means it'll be disadvantaged by Knock Off users like Bisharp and Trick users like Latios. Chansey's lack of an offensive presence causes it to be setup bait for Pokemon like Taunt Gyarados and Refresh Mega Altaria. Defensive Pokemon that Chansey struggles to break, such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn, can also freely set entry hazards against it.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock lets Chansey slowly wear down threats like Mega Pinsir and Dragonite. Soft-Boiled gives Chansey form of reliable recovery. Seismic Toss lets Chansey damage Taunt users like Mew and allows it to wear down offensive threats like Keldeo on the switch in. Toxic lets Chansey wear through walls like Mantine and Porygon2.

Set Details
========

Eviolite amplifies Chansey’s bulk, allowing it to check special attackers like Tapu Koko and Greninja much more comfortably. 248 HP and 252 Defense EVs and a Bold nature maximize Chansey's physical bulk, allowing it to take on physical attackers like Choice Scarf Tapu Bulu and Crobat, and it boasts naturally high Special Defense. Natural Cure cures Chansey of any status as it switches out, allowing it to switch into status users like Zapdos for its teammates.

Usage Tips
========

Prioritize setting Stealth Rock, especially against types like Fire and Bug where its very important to chip threats like Heatran and Heracross, respectively. Play safely with Chansey in matchups like Bug, Dragon, and rain Water so that it can check Pokemon like Volcarona, Hydreigon, and Kingdra more consistently. For example, if Chansey has switched into a Hydreigon, play safely and heal instead of trying to cripple a switch-in with Toxic so that you can check Hydreigon more reliably later on in the game. It's also very important to heal consistently against pivot-centric types like Electric that chip Chansey down quickly and force it out with powerful wallbreakers like Alolan Golem. If given the opportunity, surprise Pokemon like Zapdos and Mantine with Toxic on the switch in. Play aggressively against Taunt users like Mew by switching out to something that can handle them on a predicted Taunt. Utilize Natural Cure to absorb status for teammates like Porygon2 and Staraptor. For example, if Porygon2 is matched up against a Celesteela, scout for a potential Toxic by swapping out to Chansey. Use Chansey as a defensive pivot, tanking hits from Pokemon like Tapu Koko and Mega Diancie throughout games. Play cautiously against Trick users like Latios and Knock Off users like Gliscor and Mandibuzz, as if Chansey switches into a Trick from Choice Scarf Latios it becomes into a liability, and if it loses its item to Knock Off, it becomes more vulnerable to attackers like Greninja.

Team Options
========

Porygon2 acts as Chansey's physically defensive partner, capable of taking on Pokemon like Mega Scizor and Victini. Staraptor checks Fighting-types like Heracross and removes problematic entry hazards like Toxic Spikes for Chansey. Mega Lopunny beats huge threats such as Mega Sableye that Chansey struggles with. Ditto helps mitigate Chansey's weakness to setup Pokemon like Dragon Dance Mega Altaria. Diggersby breaks through walls like Ferrothorn for Chansey and can handle defensive cores on types like Water and Poison that Chansey struggles with. Porygon-Z is a late-game cleaner that takes advantage of Chansey's ability to chip down the opponent's team with Stealth Rock and Toxic and can break through walls like SubToxic Zapdos that Chansey could potentially struggle with. Choice Specs Meloetta breaks walls like Clefable that are unafraid of Chansey's Toxic. Mega Pidgeot helps against Steel teams by beating Pokemon like Ferrothorn for Chansey; it can also deal with problematic Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and revenge kill Fighting-types like Keldeo and Mega Gallade.

Other Options

Normal
--------

Thunder Wave lets Chansey cripple Pokemon like Mega Pinsir and Kommo-o so that slower teammates like Diggersby can outpace and KO them. Aromatherapy lets Chansey act as a cleric but usually isn't worth it because Chansey can absorb status with Natural Cure. Wish lets Chansey heal teammates but isn't very useful because some of its teammates like Staraptor and Porygon2 already have reliable recovery. When running it, Chansey also has to give up important utility like Toxic.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Keldeo and Terrakion outpace and KO Chansey.

**Trick and Knock Off**: Pokemon like Bisharp and Mega Sableye cripple Chansey with Knock Off. Pokemon like Latios can turn Chansey into a liability by using Trick.

**Setup Sweepers**: Mega Charizard X, Mega Scizor, and Refresh Mega Latias all use Chansey as setup bait.

**Stallbreakers**: Mew and Gliscor outpace and break Chansey thanks to Taunt while recovering off damage from Seismic Toss.

**Wallbreakers**: Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Keldeo, Choice Band Dragonite, and Choice Band Tapu Bulu beat Chansey.

Overview:
- Mention Natural Cure
- 4 move syndrome
- reliable recovery
- make the role compression more clear
- super reliant of eviolite

Set:
- Remove T-wave
- EVs should be 248 HP/ 252 Def/8 SpD

Moves:
- Move T-wave to OO, also most of these mons would beat chansey anyways, and fear setting up because of ditto

Usage Tips:
- Careful of trick and knock off
- Try predicting Taunt
- Keep Chansey healthy so that it can switch in often
- be more clear, mention switching in on special attackers

Team options:
- Mega pidge

Other Options:
- Thunder Wave like I said above
- Max SpD EVs

Checks and Counters:
- Trick works like Knock Off

good job QC 1/3

Edit: format was talked about and accepted if there's any confusion

* Stealth Rock lets Chansey slowly wear down threats like Mega Pinsir and Dragonite.
* Soft-Boiled gives Chansey a reliable way of recovery.
* Seismic Toss prevents Chansey from being Taunt bait and allows it to wear down offensive threats like Keldeo and Breloom on the switch in. It doesn't really prevent chansey from being taunt bait, it just allows it to do something back to them at all. Also, Breloom is a bad example here.
* Toxic lets Chansey wear through walls like Mantine and Porygon2.

- In Line 2, use Volcarona as an example over Galvantula, since the latter is checked by a good handful of mons and walled by P2
- Use a different example than Mandibuzz for a Knock Off pokemon, since it far more commonly runs Foul Play in Monotype. Gliscor, Alola Muk, Bisharp, etc are all fine replacements.
