If you use stockpile to build up your defenses and then someone uses haze (in my example its a Cradily im refering to, so nothing like Roar, etc, just Haze) does it still remove all the effects, considering that it builds up... whatever it builds up in order to use an attack or healing move? Im not making myself too clear here but... yeah, does Haze remove the defensive effects of Stockpile?

Any idea? Its just that thats the main thing that could ruin my Cradily, but if it retains the defensive boost then i can just build up its swordsdance's again (should i get the opportunity).

I think I've asked this before, but sorry, I forgot.

If I were to breed a Ditto with a female Pokemon, would the Everstone trick work? If so, which Pokemon should hold the Everstone, the female Pokemon or the Ditto?

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Chronos - Thanks, but I've not only read it, I've even printed it out. It is an exceptional piece of work, I agree.

That's kind of my problem though - I've learnt plenty, done little. As far as I can tell, most people don't create their whole team from start to finish. They come up with some good stuff and then clone it, trade and its sort of a collective effott. I've been trying to do it alone and all I have is a ton of ditto and some mediocre bred pokes. Maybe I'm wrong though, and just haven't been organised enough/put enough time in? Or maybe I ought to be on the serebii forums! Or maybe I'm in a bad mood, lol. I could just use a hands-on starting point.

Which is better as a Physical Wall? Cresselia or Donphan? One is too good while the other is a brilliant utility.

Which would do better in a Cresselia weak team? Starmie or MixApe?
Cresselia sucks. No SR, Rapid Spin and Priority move is bad. Still debating on the other option though.

If you want a good smogon-bred team, then this is what I do/did: First, get some free decent pokemon. Giveaways are a good source of these. Then get the poke(s) you got cloned. Then trade them in threads for what you want. Breed one or two pokemon at a time, rarer pokemon are worth more. Why do a Gible when there are 100s of them on smogon? Stand out, breed interesting pokes. Open a shop, get results. Remember to breed more pokemon, otherwise people will get bored of your stock!

there is a way to edit a thread name...cause i want to let know when i updated my thread but i cant find a way to add a date on the current thread title...

WER- Dusk Ball - my chunky guidebook and serebii say yes, so it depends if you believe them
x4 catch rate if night-time or in dark areas

Thanks yoshi!, that was all helpful

mastadi - I'd take a freebie! If I could get a m and f with different perfect IVs that'd be even better.

I've been playing since Red/Blue, I stopped during R/S/E but started again at FR/LG.

I'm new to the competitive battling scene, before it was just me and my friends.

Call me stupid or w/e but what is EV training/IV's? Very stupid question but I'm completely in the dark.

1. How many Sp. Def EVs does a "standard" Celebi (252 HP, Neutral nature) need in order for one of its substitutes to survive a standard Blissey's Ice Beam (no Sp. Atk EVs, neutral nature...I think)? A Celebi with a Sp.Def boosting nature? Would it be reasonable to run either one?

2. Do most Gengars carry Focus Sash? In that case, how many Atk. boosts would neutral-natured no-atk. Floatzel need to OHKO or 2HKO with Aqua Jet?
