Smogon's (First?) "Create a MOVE"

Anyways after actively participating in Cooper's Create a Pokemon, I thought of a create a move which works in the same manner. I don't really go on enough sites to know if it is done anywhere else but I like the sound of it. This would probably be easier than create a pokemon because of not having to determine so much stuff.

I am thinking of doing it in a very similar way to Cooper, only I am going to have judges who vote on the top 5 effects/animations for me to make another poll for.

There is going to be no DEATH BALL HAXXOR 100000BP move...All of these moves have to be reasonable and not centralize the metagame.

Even though many of you have seen Coopers post, I am going to describe how it will work:

  • First, there will be two polls determining the top two most popular types. There will then be another determining which of the top two wins.
  • There will be a vote on weither or not it would be a support move, physical move or special move.
  • People would suggest effects, and the judges will select the top 5 which will be voted on.
  • People will suggest animations and once again the judges will fine a top five and there will be a vote.
  • Finally, someone will determine the base power and the move is complete.
  • I'd want to send it to GameFreak, but that would be hard. I might try to get somebody to make a mod server with these moves and coopers suggest a poke.

That is how I'd hope it would work...but some noobs are of course going to screw it up. I need about 5 judges for this to work... I don't know if this is going to happen, but if YOU are going to participate, please say in the vote. Also, if I need mod permission for this or it is against the rules, feel free to delete this.

OK, I have got all the judges I need, but I am going to need a lot more support before decided whether or not to actually go ahead.

Is this thing following Cooper's "Create a pokemon" thing or just on it's own?

I made it because of Cooper's thing giving me the idea, but I basically just did it on my own.

I hope it doesn't need to be, if it does I'm screwed. I added a note saying that mods can do whatever they want to it.
 
You can start throwing ideas now just to promote discussion so more people will talk in this thread, but the final decisions will all come down to the polls. I like the idea of Explosion like moves with different types.
 
Okay.

-A special version of Explosion. Not sure what type though.

-Physical electric type attack of 80 BP. I called it "Thunder Head" or "Spark Headbutt". The main idea behind was to give Luxray a better STAB move but I think a few other pokemon could learn it based on appearance.

-Elemental Scratch attacks?
 
Just a move I've created to a random (okay, not so random) pokémon:

Effect: Switch Type Match (Weaknesses, Resistances etc.) with foe.

I created this because the pokémon in question had an incredibly retarded type (Psychic/Dark... an immunity to Psychic, a 4x weak to Bug and that's all), and getting the opponent's (hi Bronzong) type match would help her a lot.

Alright since poison is a terrible attacking type I got something.

Poison: Internal poisoning

Effect If this attack hits a water type, bug type, or a normal type it does double damage.

This could work considering poison should do double damage to those types anyway right?

Here's some moves I came up with in five minutes!


Steel - "Rupture"

Effect: Has 20% chance to destroy the opponent's held item.

Normal - "Rapture"

Power: -
Effect: If the opposing Pokemon is the opposite gender, raises Speed by two stages. No effect on genderless Pokemon.


Flying - "Dive Bomb"
Physical
Accuracy: 90
PP: 5
Power: 200
Effect: After using this attack, the Pokemon who used it cannot attack for two turns and cannot switch; Defense and Special Defense are boosted one stage during that time.


Fire - "Incineration"
Special
Accuracy: 90
PP: 10
Power: 100
Effect: The Pokemon who uses this attack has their Speed lowered one stage.

What do you guys think?
