Will using pokesav to clone or ev train cause the poke to fail a hack test?

Yes, using pokesav to create or edit pokes erases some hex code data. When run through cheat checkers your poke will show up as cheated. The cloning part is still unconfirmed. Ask DawnBringer.

A math question, here:

I'm trying to calculate the chances of Tauros' Anger Point activating. With Leftovers (assuming no SS/SR, etc), Tauros gets to Substitute 5 times, and the chance to crit one of those subs individually is 6.25%, on a standard attack like Surf, or something. So, do I just multiply 6.25% by 5 Subs, giving me 31.25% to activate Anger Point, or is there something else I'm missing?

That's not really how it works.

Basically, the question you're asking is, "What are the odds of getting at least one critical hit in 5 turns?"

The odds of not getting a critical hit on any one turn are 93.75%.

So, (93.75%)^5, which is

72.419643402099609375%

, is the chance of not getting a critical hit in five turns in a row. The other

27.580356597900390625%

of the time, you get at least one.

Ledian. FUCK. It says he is uncommon on route 229 at night. I am on route 229 at night. All I can find is a bunch of other garbage...I'm playing Diamond. Am I just unlucky or am I doing something wrong?

In my Pearl, they only appear between 4 a.m - 6 a.m. Change your DS clock and try again.

If I wanted to SR for Mewtwo with 28+ Spd IV, what speed should my Pokemon in front have? (Taking into consideration of the Gym badge boost)

For a +speed nature mewtwo (i.e. timid, hasty) you would want your poke in front to have 227 Speed.

For a neutral nature mewtwo (i.e. modest, adamant) you want your poke in front to have 207 Speed.

This will result in mewtwo having a 29-31 speed IV if mewtwo outspeeds your poke in front. If you want a slightly lower speed IV than that (28-) use 206, 226 speed (one point lower.)

I always just use this tool: http://serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml
to calculate the stats of given legendary at given level (in mewtwo's case 70) with zero speed EVs and a 31 speed IV.

Can I run

Thunderbolt
Flash Cannon
Thunder Wave
Magnet Rise

On my Magnezone? Is Substitute really all that crucial? I don't have the right HP, but that's not that much of a concern to me as I have others to take care of said Pokemon that are out there.

If this will work anyway (I'll probably use it anyway), does the EV spread

172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe

Still apply? Magnezone don't have much HitPoints I don't guess so I guess it still fits but I'll probably be needing some more Speed.

Looks fine, but replace Flash Cannon with something. It's not adding anything to the set.

Really? What if I run into a Rock type? Which.... I guess it doesn't really matter, reminds me of 3rd Gen when I'd use Magneton and pretty much every other Electric type for STAB'd Thunderbolts and that alone.

Hmm, I'll flip through it's movepool and see what I can come up with.... tomorrow. :p

But really the reason I came again now was because I wanted to elaborate why I needed Magnet Rise.

Alot of the people I know just LOVE double battles. Why, I don't know, I'm old-skool myself, but somehow I've worked out combos with what little Pokemon I have.

Magnet Rise is a blessing as I can rise one turn and be immune to my partner's own EQ's.

And I don't have a single statuser on my team ATM, IIRC, which I can't cause I REALLY need to go to bed. So T-wave is a must.

So that's 3 attacks set in stone, and a 4th one yet to be determined...

Ah, if only there were 5 move slots................

That would change EVERYTHING. o.o

Too much in fact and I think it would destroy the whole meaning of the game Pokemon. :P

@unholyman: If any of the pokemon that learn ice punch with the tutor in emerald learn pursuit by level up in d/p, then yes. I am too lazy to check that, but I doubt it. Smeargle is your best bet.
