OM Mashup Megathread

Tapu Fini @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Whirlpool
- Protect
While many people prefer a normal defensive set, I tend to use the ultimate Stallbreaker. Chansey comes in, thinking it can completely wall it, when I click Whirlpool, imagine the horror on his face. Of course it can’t do much to Magic Bounce Chansey, but it still beats every non-bounce stall team. Oh yeah, Poison / Dark has 1 weakness so it’s hard to break.

That’s everything for now, but I sure had fun making these sets, and I had fun playing it as well.
Yeah, Poison / Dark has only one weakness, but i think you're forgetting that Poison Heal doesn't work on Poison Types as they are immune to being poisoned (unless the opponent runs abilities like Corrosion).

Anyways, I have updated the LC AAA VR, though only a less change.

Rises
From B to B+ = Swirlix is one of Belly Drum sweeper that has decent bulk and the ability to resist some priority such as Sucker Punch and certain Triage moves like Drain Punch, it can also function as a web lead.
From Unrank to B- = Onix is a good suicide lead with access to Taunt, Stealth Rock and Explosion, making it a good pick for certain Hyper Offense Builds.
From Unrank to A- = While it still can't used Arena Trap for the time being, Diglett's naturally access to this ability alongside reaching the highest unboosted Speed available allows it to trap certain pokemon, especially the frail one. One may seem its broken but, Diglett suffers from Pokemon that potentially carry Levitate, as they can escape easily, and some even retaliate with strong attacks as Diglett is quite frail.

Drops
From C- to Unrank = Baton Pass chain is rather hard to work consistently, due to offensive nature of the metagame and its hard to keep the boost in the long run.

Some Added Abilities
Sturdy = Sturdy helps them set-up more easier alongside Berry Juice, making this a good option for them, although Swirlix has to run 15 HP IVs in order for Berry Juice to heal at full health after brought down to 1 HP.
Delta Stream = This ability allows Vullaby to remove her weakness to Rock, Ice and Electric moves, this helps her Defog hazards off more reliably, especially the former as she can easily switched in on some Rock-types without getting feared of their STAB moves.

Also, i could see some potential Unaware mon might struggle due to many wallbreakers might 2HKOed them, some also don't have access to a reliable recovery.

STABmons Ubers has won the Mashup Spotlight voting round! It is now the first ever mashup spotlight our groupchat will focus and study on for two weeks!

On the side note, we're not going to be as willing to take tour requests as we have been in the past, for reasons stated above. We will also no longer have polls asking for our next tournament.

Prepare :) Cya in 2019 folks!

I would like to post my opinion on these 2 pokemon in STABmon Uber.

While it still runs its common set consisting Substitute, Shore Up, Dragon Dance and Thousand Arrow in standard STABmon ( i'm not sure if it got banned there as OU has banned this pokemon welp, its banned in regular STABmon now ), here, it gets access to its signature ability Power Construct, which gives it massive bulk to tank more hits. This combined with its aforementioned Shore Up as its recovery move, it can be hard to kill if it manages to activate its ability. Thousand Arrows also limits its switch-in as it can bypass Flying-Types and Levitate user. There are almost no defensive Grass-type nor Bug-types found in Uber as Arceus is banned, so some might forced to run a niche pokemon such as Buzzwole.

Marshadow's unresisted STAB moves makes it hard to switch into. While it already gets strong Close Combat and its signature move Spectral Thief, it gets interesting new moves. First, it gets Storm Throw, boosted by Technician and its guaranteed critical hit, it hits harder than Close Combat, alongside of no drawbacks. This is notable to 2HKO defensive Pdon after Stealth Rock when equipped with Life Orb, something that Close Combat can't do.

252 Atk Life Orb Marshadow Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal: 144-172 (35.6 - 42.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Life Orb Technician Marshadow Storm Throw vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal on a critical hit: 164-192 (40.5 - 47.5%) -- 58.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

on 4th slot, it can freely choose what it wants, whether Bulk Up to sweep, Force Palm to paralyzed switch-ins, Destiny Bond to take out something, or HP Ice to 2HKO Zygarde-Complete.

These are pokemon I think are top threats in STABmons Ubers, currently:

Zygarde Sets
This thing is an absolute monster. In my opinion it is the best pokémon in STABmons Ubers, similar to how Xerneas is in AAA Ubers, except way way better. It can pretty much wall of any non super effective physical attacker with it's offensive spread and unlike in normal Ubers where you have to play safer to keep it healthy, Shore Up keeps it healthy and outright heals way more than some pokemon can deal damage to this thing, it can heal 300+ HP a turn with Shore Up and leftovers. These are two of the different possible sets this can run, the first opting for an offensive set, outspeeding MGar after a DD in complete form, and having the maximum damage possible while having a little HP investment. The second set enables it to set up more easily, at the cost of being able to be spectral thieved more easily, but it also allows it to function as more of a defensive pivot. Unlike Xerneas in AAA Ubers, this thing can come in at literally any time, sweep and then sweep again maybe later on. It is definitely extremely good, maybe even banworthy.

Groudon is very very good as well. It runs a very effective SR set as always but with Shore Up it can consistently come into pokemon like Primal Kyogre (Which got 0 new tools from STABmons anyway), and remain healthy all throughout the match. Eruption is also viable now due to being able to keep Groudon healthy easily.

Necrozma-Dusk-Mane got little in offensive weapons (except bullet punch and spectral thief) but got a lot in defensive utility moves. It can learn King's Shield and Spectral Thief enabling it to run a powerful physically defensive set that can switch into a Zygarde-Complete setting up and proceed to Spectral Thief it through the Substitute stopping it from sweeping you. This is most likely the best Spectral Thief set in order to steal stat boosts but Lunala with Spectral Thief or other pokemon with Heart Swap may be able to provide a similar role.

252+ Atk Zygarde-Complete Thousand Arrows vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 123-145 (30.9 - 36.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252+ Atk Zygarde-Complete Thousand Arrows vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 184-217 (46.2 - 54.5%) -- 9.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

If they have SR up you can King's Shield to get a leftovers recovery back to ensure you can live two Thousand Arrows. A Spectral Thief will make you faster than any Zygarde with less than 270 speed (which is certain in Complete Form as an Adamant Zygarde can only reach 269 speed). The key is to not let it get 1 free turn of setup, as soon as Zygarde Complete comes out, switch into Necrozma.

The final pokemon I want to talk about, Silvally is definitely the most enjoyable one to use. Quiver Dance is most likely the best setup move for this as special attacking in general is just better as very bulky physical walls such as Groudon Primal and Zygarde Complete exist on nearly every team and special has stronger coverage, at least imo. While a full 95 base stat spread is terrible in Ubers both offensively and defensively (especially so as people will be using stronger moves), it can still rip through pokemon.
+1 252+ SpA Life Orb Silvally Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Groudon-Primal: 430-507 (106.4 - 125.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Boomburst pretty much KOs all standard ubers with a 100/100 or near enough HP and SpD set which do not resist it. This includes Rayquaza, Yveltal, Xerneas, Palkia, Zekrom, Reshiram, Mewtwo.

+1 252+ SpA Life Orb Silvally Blue Flare vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 341-402 (101.7 - 120%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252+ SpA Life Orb Silvally Blue Flare vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 341-402 (85.6 - 101%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
+1 252+ SpA Life Orb Silvally Boomburst vs. 24 HP / 0 SpD Zygarde: 411-485 (113.2 - 133.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252+ SpA Life Orb Silvally Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zygarde-Complete: 411-485 (71.7 - 84.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Keep in mind it can just sleep powder bulkier pokemon like Kyogre to kill them instead. Seed Flare could be ran alternatively instead to sleep powder though.

Kangaskhan-Mega is banned from STABmons Ubers! With access to Parental Bond Super Fang + Seismic Toss Mega Kangaskhan is capable of 2hkoing every non-ghost in the metagame except max HP Leftovers Blissey, which barely lives (by 23 HP lol). Because it kos the vast majority of the metagame in just two slots Mkhan is free to run recovery, Crunch, or priority in the last slot to help it break through the opposing team. This Pokemon is abjectly ridiculous and already banned in Mix and Mega + STABmons, so I think this is a ban that is far overdue.

Now for some OMotM mashups! As always, let me know if you have any issues with the starting banlists or if I messed up anywhere.

----------

With the complete lack of Arceus in the metagame different defensive mons have v to be used. Here are a couple that seem neat to me.

Xerneas @ Leftovers / Shed Shell
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Moonlight
- Roar / Thunder Wave / Toxic
- Aromatherapy / Defog

This reliably answers Zygarde (unless Iron Tail :psycry:) and Marshadow, along with some other things. It has a really neat movepool and finally gets pretty reliable recovery here :psyglad:. Watch out for ogre as it gimps Xern's recovery. Shed Shell lets you escape Gengar.

Lunala @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Shadow Shield
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature / Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick-or-Treat
- Moongeist Beam
- Psystrike
- Focus Blast / Roost / Substitute / Moonblast / Ice Beam / Splash (whatever)

Z-Tot Lunala trades its unique Z move or immediate power for amazing all round stats post setup and the ability to make Moongeist SE on random mons. Shadow Shield + defensive boosts make this quite hard to take down.

EDIT: Did this on lunch and didn't check it very carefully, so I just wanna say this isnt a defensive Lunala set :psynervous:. Expect OMotM mashups and some STAB Ubers updates soon.

EDIT2: Merged posts and put second post above first to avoid double posting and because the second was more important.

Gonna drop a couple of sets for SU:

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold / Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice / Beak Blast / Body Slam / Facade
- Core Enforcer / Toxic
- Roost
- Defog
This reliably checks non-HP Ice Marsh. And it also keeps hazards off from PDon which is pretty good. 16 EVs outspeed Neutral Max Speed Base 90s, Hyper Voice OHKOs Marsh after Sub which is kinda important as +1 SSSSS does massive damage. Other alternatives are good too.

Gothitelle @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rest
- Taunt
- Amnesia
- Charm / Barrier
Does what it does in Ubers except it traps a lot more stuff with Amnesia, Spread can be customized to deal with whatever threat you are afraid of. Charm does better vs opponent set up, while Barrier is better vs Sub.
Im not sure if Wobb does a good job without Taunt but it has way better bulk

Rayquaza @ Life Orb
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Clanging Scales
- Oblivion Wing
- Earth Power
- Surf
This revenge kills Zygarde, PDon, and some others. Scales hits through sub which is super important, OWing gives longevity to negate LO recoil, EP smacks steels, Surf hits PDon.

Ho-Oh @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Ascent
- V-create
- Sacred Fire / Earthquake / Toxic
- Defog / Earthquake / Toxic
Pretty solid speed control that can revenge kill stuff like Marsh. Also switches in on non-rock coverage Pdon and most likely forces it out.

Xerneas @ Choice Band
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly /Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Close Combat
- Aromatherapy
- Rock Slide / Defog
Beats some of the standard xern checks including Ho-oh and Blobs. Rock Slide can be forgone if you can keep rocks up or are facing against no investment Ho-oh. Loses to PDon hard so maybe pair with Dugtrio? IDK.

Can we consider banning Komala from STAB Ubers for the same old reasons as always, it does just what it always did (maybe even better considering how bulky and slow-mons-reliant the meta is compared to regular stabmons) and adds nothing to the meta besides comaphazing bs
Gonna quickban Komala. While I'm not a huge fan of quickbans I see no reason to keep comaphazing in the metagame.

Komala's speed is too high to be able to do what it does, given that only base 122 positive and higher can actually outspeed without some sort of boost or priority. Given that Komala also often abuses webs the list of Pokemon that can actually hit it without priority or a boost is... Aerodactyl(-Mega), Crobat, Ninjask, Noivern, Shaymin-Sky, Swellow, and Talonflame. Of those only maybe Aerodactyl-Mega, Skymin, and maybe Ninjask (as a suicide lead and it's not going to be stopping Komala lol) are at all viable, and none of them are common.

There's honestly no truly reliable answer besides Magic Bounce or having every user outspeed / outprioritize Scarf Komala (completely impractical) since when you can't actually switch in and have to rely on Komala bringing in your counter, taking chip damage while you wait. This makes even stuff like Mach Punch Marshadow unreliable, because you have no certainty it will come in until something else dies. And then the Komala can just switch out, leaving it free to come back in at a later turn and repeat the process.

tl;dr Komala is banned from STABmons Ubers because Comaphazing is broken

Alright, time to post a set and like to say something on certain mon in STAB Uber.

Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Oblivion Wing / Aeroblast
- Heat Wave / Focus Blast

This is a sweeping set it can sometimes run. At +2, it hits very hard against bulky pokemon. STAB Dark Pulse boosted by Dark Aura is quite strong and has decent chance of flinch. Oblivion Wing is strong and gives some sustain to migitate some chip damage. Aeroblast can be alternatively used to trade sustainability for strong power, notably OHKOing defensive Xerneas lacking SpD invesments. The last slot depends on what you want to hit, whether Heat Wave for Magearna or Focus Blast for Tyranitar.

Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Ascent
- Diamond Storm
- Earthquake
- Accelerock

Just a standard set, its very high Speed allows it to freely run Adamant nature, while still being able to outspeed base 130 such as Mega-Gengar and Mega Mewtwo-X. The Attack boost was noteworthy for something like this:

252 Atk Tough Claws Aerodactyl-Mega Dragon Ascent vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal: 153-180 (37.8 - 44.5%) -- 3.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Tough Claws Aerodactyl-Mega Dragon Ascent vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal: 168-198 (41.5 - 49%) -- 80.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Alright gonna post some niche sets here for STAB Uber.

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Gear Grind
- First Impression
- Dragon Ascent
- Heal Order

Gear Grind with Technician has a whopping base stat total of 150 not including STAB. When facing Pokemon with Substitute, the 2 hit move is also very useful to still do some damage provided hit 1 breaks sub. First Impression provides some excellent priority (it could be swapped for Megahorn for more power though), and thanks to Scyther, it gets lovely coverage in Dragon Ascent. Heal Order is for longevity and the set is improofed by Necrozma-Dusk-Mane. Pair this with a Pdon or something to beat steels and you’ve got a neat li’l core there.

Kyurem-White @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Clanging Scales
- Fusion Flare
- Toxic

While this Pokemon doesn’t really get much from STABmons except better dragon stab, it can still pressure and eventually break through one heck of a lotta teams.

252+ SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-White Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 192 SpD Groudon-Primal: 178-210 (44 - 51.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-White Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 192 SpD Groudon-Primal: 216-255 (53.4 - 63.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-White Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Lugia: 270-320 (64.9 - 76.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (The Normal Lugia spread is 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe)

252+ SpA Kyurem-White Fusion Flare vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 204-241 (51.2 - 60.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Turboblaze Kyurem-White Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 48 SpD Zygarde-Complete: 784-928 (136.8 - 161.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

You see what I mean? Even against things that can wall it, just place a Toxic and finish it with something else. It doesn’t really need Timid to outspeed everything it needs.

Blaziken @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- V-create
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Protect

V-Create + Speed Boost is a devastating combo, making an 180 BP fire move only have the negative effects of a Close Combat. Close Combat is also much more reliable than High Jump Kick. Here: more calcs.

252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal in Harsh Sunshine: 164-193 (40.5 - 47.7%) -- 59% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

+2 252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal in Harsh Sunshine: 327-385 (80.9 - 95.2%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 343-406 (86.1 - 102%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

+2 252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 688-810 (172.8 - 203.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO (predict the King’s Shield to gain +2 Attack)

252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zygarde-Complete: 213-252 (37.1 - 43.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zygarde-Complete: 426-502 (74.3 - 87.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Lugia: 241-285 (57.9 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (This relies on Multiscale intact to switch in)

+2 252+ Atk Blaziken-Mega V-create vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Lugia: 481-567 (115.6 - 136.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

These calcs are pretty impressive: as far as I can see only King’s Shield Pokemon can stop this sweeping when it’s at +2, and only Zygarde can check as long as it has enough health.

There's also all the priority flying around that hurts after a drop or two, spectral thief giratina laughs and it can be somewhat hard to get that initial SD off.
It's certainly a dangerous set on a dangerous mon, but far from being the unstoppable monster you made it sound like.

Oh, also Chandelure hardwalls it :^)

Going to post a niche sets on STABmon Uber.

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf / Terrain Extender
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Photon Geyser / Psycho Boost
- Moonblast / Fleur Cannon
- Trick / Aromatherapy
- Lunar Dance

This is like its only option. Unfortunately, there are better pokemon to used over Lele, and thus, outclassed by other pokemon outside of teams that can take advantage of its Psychic Terrain, though one of the new move it gets was Lunar Dance, a good support move to help its teammate have another chance to sweep.

Pheromosa @ Focus Sash
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant / Naughty Nature
- Sticky Web
- Low Kick
- U-turn
- Taunt / Ice Beam / Rapid Spin

Pheromosa's niche was a fastest web setter. I think it suffer from slight 4MSS, whether to stop opponents from Defogging webs, hit Defoggers hard with coverage or removed their hazards.

Pidgeot-Mega @ Pidgeotite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sing
- Boomburst
- Heat Wave / Hurricane
- U-turn

Still the same old Mega-Pidgeot.

I'm concerned that Gothitelle (perhaps Shadow Tag?) might be unhealthy in STABmon Ubers after seeing it in action in a tour yesterday (this set):-

Tour replays:-

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7stabmons-846110932
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7stabmons-846114624

If it has a suitable victim (it seems like there are many), it wins by PP and Taunt-stalling for about 40 turns until the opponent is forced to kill itself by using Struggle. Unless the opponent is running specific escape/possibly coverage moves, this is a lengthy lame duck period where there is no real counterplay, and outside of (consecutive) crits, the outcome is effectively pre-determined. I'm not familiar enough with Ubers know if this is just a minor evolution of a situation that is considered acceptable there, but it seems pretty uncompetitive.

That's how Gothitelle really works in standard Uber. It only preys on certain mon found in Balance / Bulky Offense / Stall Team. Some pokemon that Goth traps now packing things like Shed Shell (For Toxapex, Celesteela and Blissey) using Dragon Tail over other phazing move like Whirlwind( For Lugia) and teams are packing pursuit trappers even in Stall Teams, with Alolan-Muk or TTar(and we now have Yveltal as our new Pursuit Trapper). Defensive Necrozma-DM even uses Solgalium Z specifically for Goth.

I remember Uber suspect tested Goth and they listed pokemon that goth traps. I guess you can read more there...

Some updates!

STABmons Ubers:

We are unbanning Extreme Speed.

This is primarily due to the lack of abusers in the metagame unlike in normal STABmons. If Pokemon such as Diggersby or Snorlax prove too strong the option to reban it remains open, but for now, there doesn't seem to be a very reasonable argument for keeping it on the initial banlist, so #freespeed.

We will not be banning Gothitelle / Shadow Tag without arguments that include analysis of how it is more broken / uncompetitive here than in standard ubers (if indeed it is).

STAAABmons:

I am planning to hold some type of suspect for Triage / Thundurus-Therian in the foreseeable future. In it I aim to answer once and for all the question of whether the mon or the ability is the broken factor here. Thundurus-Therian will be banned for the suspect (whatever form it takes) while Triage will be freed, and we will attempt to see if anything else can abuse Triage at a broken level.

A general inquiry about potential changes to the official mashups line-up...
Q: Will other mashups be added to the list?
A: It's possible. However any changes to the list are subject to approval by the OM submissions team, so don't expect it to happen overnight. A solid concept and high levels of interest may increase the likelihood of a metagame being accepted as a mashup.
As far as I know this procedure has not been tried since Mashups was created. Until recently there was little functional difference between official and "bootleg" mashups, as both could easily have tours created, but due to the ratios enforced by the new Spotlights system, the difference has become salient and many users have requested that other metas get a chance to apply for official status, with CAAAmomons in particular seemingly in heavy demand.

Are there any plans for a review of the official mashups line-up in the foreseable future, and are there any limitations on what could become official? For example, I was unsure if CAAAmomons could even be considered for official when Camomons is AFAIK not a permaladder meta like the Formats used as bases for current official mashups are.

Thank-you.

Going to share my opinion on Espeed Users.

Diggersby @ Life Orb
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Precipice Blades
- Knock Off / Fire Punch
- Fake Out / Fire Punch

Ah, Diggersby. I think I can see this more on offensive team as a premier revenge killer. Huge Power increases its attack to those with base 180 Atk.
Though Beak Blast user still puts it in check, like it was on regular STABmon when it was still around. I feel like forgoing Life Orb means it will missed certain KOs in can achieved.

252+ Atk Life Orb Huge Power Diggersby Precipice Blades vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal: 382-452 (94.5 - 111.8%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Huge Power Diggersby Precipice Blades vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Groudon-Primal: 294-348 (72.7 - 86.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Life Orb Huge Power Diggersby Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 208+ Def Giratina: 234-278 (46.5 - 55.2%) -- 68.8% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Huge Power Diggersby Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 208+ Def Giratina: 180-214 (35.7 - 42.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

Snorlax @ Figy Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Crunch

Snorlax naturally gets Bdrum. Its bulk is nearly as same as other Ubers. I can't say much about this..

Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Return
- Earthquake

Mega Altaria diffentiates with other Espeed user with its ability to hit Marshadow and Giratina hard, the common stop to Extremespeed User. Unfortunately, Fairy resist are common and it needs DDance as Mega-Gengar can easily removed it, not to mention its inability to hold shed shell.

Now I'm going to post my current team I used in STABmon Uber.

Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 144 HP / 148 Atk / 56 SpD / 160 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Precipice Blades
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Shore Up

Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Pursuit
- Dragon Ascent
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn

Necrozma-Dusk-Mane @ Shed Shell
Ability: Prism Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spectral Thief
- Sunsteel Strike
- Stealth Rock
- Moonlight

Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Spectral Thief
- Rest
- Toxic
- Sleep Talk

Xerneas @ Shed Shell
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonlight
- Moonblast
- Defog
- Aromatherapy

Marshadow @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spectral Thief
- Storm Throw
- Shadow Sneak
- Destiny Bond

Pdon is the bulky set-up sweeper, I slightly moved 8 Atk EVS to the Speed in order to outsped Adamant Diggersby. Yveltal is the team's Pursuit-Trapper, especially on match-up against Gothitelle and Mega-Gengar. I chose Dark Pulse in attempt to hit Goth on both defense and punishing Mega-Gengar from using Will-O-Wisp. Necrozma-DM is the Stealth Rock Setter. I chose Shed Shell here to escape Gengar. You can used this to lure Gothitelle and pretend you can't escape, force Goth to used Rest, then switch out and bring Yveltal to Pursuit-Trapped it. Giratina-O is used here to check opposing Pdon, which i really needed. Xern is the hazard removal and the cleric, again using Shed Shell to escape trappers. Lastly, Marshadow is the offensive attacker. Destiny Bond comes in handy in certain situation. Mega-Gengar is one of the threat to this team, being able to 2HKO pdon and yveltal with Moongeist Beam and Sludge Wave respectively, you should keep Yveltal as healthy as possible in order to removed Gengar. Nasty Plot Yveltal is also another threat to this team, Xerneas can't tank a +2 Owing with LO boost and Marshadow can't OHKO it with Storm Throw, so play carefully around it.
also, I tend to build Balance / Bulky Offense team.

Today is a great day for mashups! We finally got a private room :psyglad: Check out our new home here! Thanks so much to everyone who worked to get our groupchat to the place it is today, with special shoutouts to Ransei for being such an awesome RO for our groupchat (and om ig ;) to The Immortal (won't tag because he deals with enough of those lol) for giving us the chance to show how awesome we as a community are.

Zygarde has recently been banned from OU. This will effects the banlists of many Other Metagames, and thus indirectly the banlists of many mashups. It is getting banned from Almost Any Ability, STABmons, and Camomons, as well as most OU based temporary ladders. Any metagames derivative of these will also now have Zygarde banned. If you believe any of these derivative mashups should leave Zygarde legal please make a case for it here. Zygarde will NOT at this time be being banned from STAB n Mega, despite being partially STABmons derivative, as the Pokemon banlist is more based on Mix and Mega.

Thank-you.
I have held off on CAAAmomons specifically for the reasons you laid out; Camomons is no longer a rotational ladder, and as such its future on our server is questionable at best. As making it one of our core mashups seems to be a popular idea I will broach the idea with the OM submissions team, but I'm not sure how they will respond.

Just so you know this process HAS been used to add a metagame; STAB n Mega was not on our original list, but was added because of its high popularity.

I got a sample team I'd like to submit before this show ends and we get on with our next Mashup Spotlight. While this team isn't perfect (it was made by me) I hope it's good enough to give players a general idea of how the STABmons Ubers metagame is like. I won't give off mass amounts of detail, just general info.

Showcasing...

Gusty Winds...

Click on any of the 6 Pokemon above for an importable.

Whew... the winds are gusty tonight, aren't they? It's probably these guys. Well anyway, this was a team I intended to be built around a Dragon Dance Zekrom set without Earth Power. The Zekrom primarily plays a role as a late game sweeper for when its biggest threat(s) are taken care of. What it offers are unique, mostly unresisted, high BP STAB moves with a gift given from the mechanics of this format. This precious model was gifted the ability to dance, boosting the effectiveness of both its STAB moves. We all know this dragon is living and breathing, so every once in a while you have to make sure this dancer sits down, takes a deep breath, and relax. Roost is helpful for sets like this since it enables the Pokemon to last longer and set up more, giving it bigger boosts and helping it sweep. Pokemon from the likes of Kyogre and Zygarde hate this thing already, but holding it off until you find the right opportunity to sweep is what makes this star shine brightest.

From square one I already knew I was heading into trouble with Primal Groudon, so I quickly thought "hmm, what's an unusual Groudon switchin I could have that gains from this meta?" and what popped up in my mind is Mega Latias. Mega Latias is an effective Primal Groudon switchin able to overcome both its STABs and set up on it, but the advantage it gets over its plain Ubers self is the ability to use a high powered special Dragon-type move without risking any sort of stat decrease. This means whatever boosts Calm Mind gives to this Latias, it keeps unless it either switches out or another Pokemon affected it. This Latias also has a stronger Psyshock for Pokemon who think they could still wall. Chansey would be having a sad day just reading this post. I would also like to mention that as usual, dragons need to sit down and breathe sometimes. This doesn't just go for dancing ones, but ones who spend their time trying to meditate. Because of this, Latias utilizes the move Roost to help it set up.

This is the part where I realize everything has Roost...

I brought Landorus to the team because I wanted a Stealth Rock user that was at least somewhat able to defend itself against many Primal Groudon sets better than Primal Groudon itself, and Arceus is banned so this was one of the few Pokemon I was left with. Landorus is equipped with defensive EVs for the use of effective hazard control. With this Pokemon I wanted to make sure I would be able to throw out rocks whenever I wanted, but also defog them whenever I wanted, while keeping the rest of my Pokemon safe. Its EVs are placed as specially defensive due to its intimidate ability already taking care of many worries it would have for physical defense as well as having a physically defensive defogging counterpart somewhere else on the team. U-Turn is added to pivot potentially into a good matchup and at this point we know what Roost does.

Admittedly I have never used this Celesteela. It used to be a Kartana before I replaced it due to its inability to work for the team. The intention I had with this Pokemon was to make sure I had a Fairy-type wall that wasn't weak to Ground or Rock-type moves. This Celesteela is able to Leech Seed on Fairy-type Pokemon or other Pokemon it could wall against, then use King's Shield. Roost makes the process much more annoying for the foe since it's already recovering by Leech Seed. Both King's Shield and its last move, Beak Blast, are used over other moves to lower the defenses of physical attackers, either making them easier to wall and heal off against, or forcing them to switch out, giving it an opportunity to predict and throw a Leech Seed. Mega Mewtwo X is who this Pokemon specifically baits the most, since it will try to set up and use Low Kick against Celesteela if the two had to match up.

Now explaining the Ho-oh, Ho-Oh fits almost all of what I had in mind for a Steel-type, however it's x4 weak to rocks. After putting down my Steel-type, I took a glance at this team and figured, it had nothing to beat Steel-type Pokemon. Because of this I added a Fire-type hard hitter to the table. With Choice Band and V-Create this Pokemon is bound to OHKO a significant portion of the unresisted metagame, and for most things that resist, they can get hit by Dragon Ascent instead. It's not as powerful but it should at least offer a 2HKO to most Pokemon without any damaging recoil. When I built this team, I intended for it to last against offensive teams easier. Because of this, I gave Ho-Oh Sacred Fire over Earthquake. The only purpose of Sacred Fire was to fish for the burns V-Create couldn't pass, in case Pokemon such as Zekrom or Zygarde were trying to switch in. It would more likely harm them permanently.

Speaking of being able to last against offensive teams easier, the last Pokemon was made to be a complete wall. I've decided to use defensive Lunala as my secondary defogger because since my main breaker was Ho-Oh, I figured another Pokemon to clear hazards would be ideal. With its EVs it's meant to survive against the likes of Zygarde, Primal Groudon, and in general, physical attackers. (realistically this team at most is an over preparation of non Toxic Primal Groudon) Its only purposes are to Toxic stall and act as an effective defogger for Ho-Oh along with Landorus. I've given it Ice Beam specifically because Substitute Zygarde is currently a popular set in STABmons Ubers. It could also be replaced by Spectral Thief, but Ice Beam is more effective for damage, other Zygarde sets, Flying-types, and Dragon-type Pokemon of this meta.

That was an explanation I could give for the team. Although I know it's large, yet poor. I hope you enjoy using / fixing it ;_;

Here is a replay of it being used: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7stabmons-846519887 This was personally my favorite STABmons Ubers team.

Here are all the other legal STABmons Ubers teams I've built: https://pokepast.es/e617b666675b443e As usual, a lot of them were experimental, although most I didn't actually use very much.

Here are all the other STABmons Ubers replays I could find from games I played on this Mashup Spotlight!

Let's get on with some news,

1) If you haven't seen from Drampa's announcement, OM Mashups now has a private subroom! Here's the link: OM Mashups

2) I haven't mentioned this earlier, but the ideal ratio of how tours are made have changed. It is now 2 Mashup Spotlight tours per 3 Official Mashup tours per 1 outside of the other 2 categories, 2:3:1.

3) Yesterday I had the OM Mashups community make some sort of speculative VR based on what we've seen over these two weeks. Click the button below to see where we've placed each Pokemon. In the future, I will put this on a separate post, add icons, and make it more accurate.

Now we have at least a fair amount of resources to introduce newer players who would perhaps give this metagame a shot.

4) The first official Mashup Spotlight has ended, but I didn't make a voting round. For the first spotlight, I decided to handle it similarly to OMotM where people can vote for their own choice. For this I've decided to move towards how LCotM works, and it has been decided. The next Mashup Spotlight is going to be Mix and Mega Little Cup!
Mega Stones and Primal Orbs can be used on non-native Pokemon with no Mega Evolution limit in a Little Cup setting.

A: This should be possible on Rom, however on the main server the tour code has not yet been written for this. For reference, it will involve banning individually the combination of every banned Pokemon + every mega stone.

Q: Why is(n't) X banned?
A: The initial banlist was made to ban as few things as possible while still removing the absurdly broken Pokemon like Gligar and Scyther. Feel free to comment on the banlist and why you feel something should or should not be banned.

/tour name [Gen 7] Mix and Mega LC

Sample Sets: Wanted
Sample Teams: Wanted
Samples Replays: Wanted

Please note that each Pokemon are required to have their levels manually lowered to 5 for this metagame to be played, since this is LC but the base format we're using for tournaments is Mix and Mega!

Neat, now time for some sets for Mnm LC.

Swirlix @ Berry Juice
Ability: Unburden
Level: 5
EVs: 212 Atk / 68 Def / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Play Rough
- Return
- Protect

Standard set.But after consuming its Berry Juice, it is able to outspeed so many Megas up to Timid Diancite Abra. Last slot was originally Thief, but since you can't removed Mega Stones, Protect is used so it can give itself protection against Fake Out users.

Swirlix @ Berry Juice
Ability: Unburden
Level: 5
EVs: 72 Def / 208 SpA / 208 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Cotton Guard
- Draining Kiss
- Flamethrower / Hidden Power [Fighting] / Hidden Power [Ground]

This is its standard special sweeping set, taking advantage of its good special movepool. Calm Mind + Cotton Guard makes it near unkillable.
But good thing Aggronite completely stops the Belly Drum sets and some have enough power to OHKO Swirlix.

Sneasel @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Throat Chop
- Brick Break

I think its still a decent attacker.

Tangela @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
EVs: 156 HP / 156 Def / 36 SpA / 116 SpD / 36 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
- Ancient Power
- Synthesis

Tangela can decently function as a physical tank thanks to its naturally high Defense and access to Regenerator.

Now, I would like to post some potential suspect based on my opinion
Carvanha : Good coverage,Speed Boost pre-mega and ability to run either physical or special is what makes me think why its broken.
Diancite : I think this stone was rather abusable here than in regular Mnm, mainly due to few defensive mon in Mnm LC.

Even though this wasn't really banworthy, cuz priority can stop this. Anyways, I'm going to look forward to know this mashup better. Have Fun to all

The next Mashup Spotlight is going to be Mix and Mega Little Cup!

The age of PDon is over. The time of the PonyGod has come!

AAA LC

Ponyta @ Eviolite
Ability: Drought / Desolate Land
Level: 5
EVs: 156 Def / 76 SpA / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Will-O-Wisp
- Morning Sun

Sun-boosted Fire Blast and auto-charged SolarBeam as coverage allows Ponyta to wallbreak. Drought is used if you have a Chlorophyll teammate, otherwise used Desolate Land. Will-o-Wisp cripples physical attackers and Morning Sun heals 3/4 of this sunlight
This set might be even better in MnM LC because Red Orb boosts its special attack to reach parity with its new attack stat. Unfortunately it has no other useful coverage special attacks outside of Hidden Power, and can't do anything against incoming Blue Orb users.

Maybe Ponyta could also run a mixed set along these lines:-

Ponyta @ Red Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 Def / 196 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Solar Beam
- Wild Charge
- Morning Sun

Now it can attack Blue Orb users switching in by using Wild Charge.

It has been way too long since I made a forum post in general, so I thought I'd fix this and add a cool little team I've been working with. It's not perfect, but it should get people used to the interesting world of Pure Hackmons.

Disclaimer: this is not the complete updated version, and I am making changes. Only reason I'm not posting the altered version is because I haven't really tested it yet.

After I got back from a month-long hiatus, I was using a bunch of my older teams, and was really starting to get frustrated at how some of my older teams couldn't really handle WG Gyarados. So, with this team, I wanted to make a bulkier team that could handle this annoying Pokemon. First thing that came to mind was Prankster DBond, which would make for a great panic button not just for Gyarados, but for any runaway setup sweeper. ImposterBlob came next, and is really nice for PP stalling. After this, I slapped on WG Yveltal because I thought that Deoxys-Speed wasn't as common as I it is, and I wanted a strong STAB Pursuit with decent bulk. Giratina and Mega Scizor both followed due to their proficiency at walling things very few Pokemon can, and make pretty decent Mega Mewtwo checks. Lastly, I saw that my team didn't have a hard answer to Gyarados, so I decided to innovate and use Galvanize Zekrom to either kill it outright or with priority. After a while, I realized that Deoxys-Speed did not die down like I thought it did, and swapped over to Mega Gyarados on other's suggestions, and you get the team you see before you.

The big thing you have to worry about with this team are runaway sweepers, because even with both Imposter and Prankster Haze/DBond, they can still be problematic. Ampharos gets an honorary mention for being really hard to deal with pre-mega, and nearly impossible to beat even after mega evolving. Additionally, if Aegislash isn't carrying Stealth Rock, it can be tough to deal with Wonder Guard cores consistently, but is a bit trickier to use without U-turn, so be wary of that. Of course, you could slap Thousand Arrows/Waves on something and call it a day, but I'd still be wary of it. Mewtwo X can be rough if it has both Fairy and Fire coverage, which means you require a bunch of predictions to beat. That said, these can all be beaten if you play smart and overpredict on necessary turns you should be able to do fairly well.

Not a lot of replays, but here you go:
Replay 1 Replay 2 Told you there aren't many replays :/

Looks like a decent team. But it seems too passive imo. Also wonder guards that are not gyarados can wall you the entire time. Your megados's trick will cripple one but without more firepower you will just be whittled down and destroyed. Also mmx has a field day Vs your team. It comes in on any Mon and kills something. Chansey can take max two banded photons before it dies.

Running banded mons that aren't mmx imo isn't very good. But if you want to do that then at least run moves that can deal damage to other wonder guards. Sunsteel strike would be the best option considering improofs. Probs over switcheroo. Zyg shuts your entire team down without any help needed whatsoever.

Having uturn on a wg Mon that takes SE damage from it is just dumb. Use baton pass or parting shot instead. Finally, core enforcer isn't that great in this meta seeing that the mons that need to have their abilities removed aren't affected by it. So if your plan is to try and remove wg the using simple beam/entrainment or even worry seed would be a better bet.

Well, I'm surprised you didn't find a bigger problem with the team, that being that Gyarados didn't have 252 in all EVs. Somehow I never saw that. Oops. Going to fix that in a little bit.

As for Wonder Guards, I have changed the team a bit since then to deal with them better, the only reason I didn't post that version is because of lack of testing it, and one of the bigger changes is Toxic on Aegislash over Stealth Rock, with Rocks on Giratina.

I've never really had that big of an issue with mmx, since I can usually play around it by going to Mega Scizor and spamming Powder. It really seems to depend on whether or not they have a Fire attack, but I guess I just got lucky on that or something.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the Banded Pokemon point, but I do agree on the Wonder Guard point, now that you bring it up. That said, I feel like the better option would be to keep Switcheroo (mostly because I like being able to cripple opposing teams) and replace Return with Sunsteel Strike. Also yeah, somehow I don't encounter Zygarde that much, but it totally ruins my team.

I've never had any problems with U-turn on Gyarados before. Like, seriously, even when I encountered Imposter Chansey, it wasn't a liability, so I see no reason to change it period. Core Enforcer was replaced with rocks, as mentioned before.

I'm probably not going to post a major update to the team on the thread, since I wanna test it totes not because I worry about people scouting. I will make a couple updates to it, though, particularly Gyarados, since there was no excuse for either of us missing that. I'm probably going to add to the threat list a bit more, but that's most likely it. Fuck it, I'll just post the whole thing.

I totally forgot to post this before but in 3 hours (3 PM EST or 8 PM GMT) there will be a 'suspect' tour for STAAABmons, where Thundurus-Therian will be banned. This is designed to test what exactly the broken aspect of Triage is (Thundurus-T, Oblivion Wing, or Triage itself). This tour will not provide voting reqs because I do not plan on holding a vote at this time, but I do hope that all who participate will share their thoughts and experiences in this thread.
