So that's the end of the voting stage for Week 5. Thanks for this great participation :D this last time 20 people have voted. I think SM ZU BotW is one of the most actives that I have ever seen.
I will drop my votes here too:
A fruitshop owner
Graceclaw
Kay
To make a long story short, I will draw the final Table with all the votes and I will highlight the ones that have to battle for this week :]
Silvally-Poison @ Poison Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Parting Shot
- Defog
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
This was one of the first teams I built with my Teambuilding Template, and has a few things I haven't used since this build - notably, SIlvally-Poison and Scarf Shiftry. I built the team around Magnet Rise Alolem, which I created after using Band Alolem in the Best Friends tournament. I noticed that peoples' first reaction to Alolem being on the field is to immediately switch to either their own Golem or scarfvire and Earthquake you. If you click Magnet Rise on the turn they switch in, however, you render them practically useless versus you and can proceed to tear through things with your massive 372 attack + 102 BP Electric Galvanize-boosted STAB. Toxic is there for Gourgeist and other grass types, as you don't really do enough with Fire Punch anyways. This set is really fun, and has consistently put in work when I have used it correctly; see its influence on this week's battle for proof of concept. The Lum berry is burned almost every single game, usually on opposing Toxics as in this battle, or occasionally on Will o Wisp from Gourgeist or Rapidash. It's by far the best item for this set, since it often sets up Magnet Rise on walls like Bronzor, Mareanie, or defensive Golem.
252+ Atk Galvanize Golem-Alola Frustration vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Bronzor: 156-184 (49 - 57.8%)
Silv-Psn is an anti-Mareanie and anti-Swanna measure, and performs admirably in both capacities (unless Swanna is physical, of course), and often finds an opportunity to pivot out on opposing Golems trying to switch in.
It's honestly been so long that I forgot exactly why Scarf Shiftry was a good option to fill in the last slot; maybe because I wasn't afraid of faster scarfers thanks to Gabite + Vally? Either way, it has worked out pretty well; it was with this team that I developed my fondness for Scarf Explosion (see: upcoming VR nom for Normalvally). Nobody expects the scarf, and it is still plenty potent with 328 attack and dumb-Leaf Storm.
The whole team is set up around giving grief to things that would prevent Alolem or Abomasnow from working wonders; Monferno and Gabite check Gorugeist/Shiftry and Electivire, respectively (if Evire locks into Ice Punch to KO Gabite, Alolem gets its free turn to set up Magnet Rise and go to work). With Magnet Rise up, Rapidash also notably can't touch Alolem aside from Will O (which is Lum'd away). Floatzel is also blanket-checked by Silv; the only notable mon that comes to mind that would meaningfully threaten this team is Kadabra, which is Knocked and KO'd by Shiftry + Ice Shard from Aboma. SD Abomasnow has often swept teams by itself on this team because it's ridiculous and because it is very good at blowing holes in opposing teams; I have found that carrying Blizzard is extremely important (see this replay for proof). It fits into the "slow offense" style of the team and can pick off faster targets weakened by Alolem with Ice Shard.
I always enjoy playing against Blalib, and I'm sad that we couldn't play more than one game, but scheduling was not in our favor this week. Maybe we'll see each other in a tournament some time soon. Until then, gg!
Yeah it was hahah but I get it as you love this section :P
a fruitshop owner does not have to worry about the money. It was intense so I will not call my money back :]. Thanks both (Graceclaw) to offer this game!!
I am so thrilled to see which will be the new competitors for Week 6. Thus, you may now vote for this incoming week!
Remember that you cannot vote both a fruitshop owner and Graceclaw this week :].
