[OVERVIEW]
Celesteela's great bulk, typing, and offensive presence help it to be a beast in the 1v1 metagame. Its diverse movepool with coverage moves such as Fire Blast and Giga Drain allows it to take on many threats in the metagame such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Donphan, while its STAB Corkscrew Crash allows it to mow down Fairy-types like Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Mega Diancie, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Altaria, Togekiss, and non-Babiri Berry Whimsicott. With its Steel / Flying typing, Celesteela has key resistances to common Dragon-, Fairy-, Steel-, and Psychic-type Pokemon such as Dragonite, Magearna, Mega Aggron, and Meloetta. However, many common Fire- and Electric-type threats in the 1v1 metagame are able to OHKO it, such as Mega Charizard X and Y, Zeraora, and Magnezone. Also, Celesteela doesn't have a great Special Attack stat, meaning it has trouble breaking through walls such as Type: Null, even with Metal Sound. Furthermore, Celesteela's lackluster base Speed makes it susceptible to faster Pokemon like Mega Metagross, Mega Lopunny, and, in particular, sleep users like Jumpluff and Mega Gengar.

Moves
========
Metal Sound allows Celesteela to lower the Special Defense of bulkier threats that it wouldn't otherwise be able to KO, such as Magearna, Z-Conversion Porygon-Z, and Z-Celebrate Meloetta. It can also use Z-Metal Sound to bypass Taunt from users like Waterium Z Tapu Fini. Flash Cannon in combination with Steelium Z allows Celesteela to have an easier time with Fairy-, Rock-, and Ice-type Pokemon, such as Mega Gardevoir, Terrakion, and Kyurem. Giga Drain gives Celesteela a better matchup versus Water-types such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Swampert, and Greninja, though almost all Ground- and Rock-types are already beaten by its other moves. Fire Blast is used to beat Grass-, Steel-, and Bug-type Pokemon more easily, including Kartana, non-Thunder Punch Mega Metagross, Genesect, Durant, and Mega Scizor.
Set Details
========
188 HP and 192 Special Defense EVs allow Celesteela to take powerful hits such as a Never-Ending Nightmare follwed by Shadow Sneak from Aegislash and a Choice Specs-boosted Thunderbolt from Genesect while maximizing its physical bulk. 128 Special Attack EVs and a Modest nature allow Celesteela to have as much power as possible. Steelium Z can either boost Flash Cannon's Base Power to 160 or allow Celesteela to boost its Special Attack with Z-Metal Sound.
Usage Tips
========
Send out Celesteela against Pokemon that its coverage moves can threaten; for instance, use Metal Sound against Magearna, Meloetta, Porygon-Z, and Porygon2, Fire Blast against Kartana, Ferrothorn, Aegislash, non-Thunder Punch Mega Metagross, and Genesect, and Giga Drain against Mega Gyarados, Mega Swampert, and Greninja. Send out Celesteela against frail or Steel-weak Pokemon that can be OHKOed by Steelium Z-boosted Flash Cannon such as Tapu Bulu, Tapu Lele, Haxorus, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Diancie, Mega Altaria, Togekiss, and Whimsicott. Use Z-Metal Sound against Taunt users such as Waterium Z Tapu Fini and Kee Berry Mew, as well as against bulkier Pokemon like Magearna, Aegislash, Porygon2, and Mega Swampert, followed by the proper coverage move. However, wallbreakers such as Mega Medicham, Zeraora, and Mega Lopunny will OHKO or 2HKO Celesteela, so you should stray away from using it in matchups that have one or more wallbreakers. Also, be wary of sleep users like Jumpluff or Mega Gengar, as they'll make Celesteela unable to set up or move at all. If you know the opposing Porygon-Z is running Choice Scarf, use Giga Drain followed by Corkscrew Crash to cover for Thunderbolt. If it's running Normalium Z, use Metal Sound followed by Corkscrew Crash.
Team Options
========
Rock-types such as Carracosta and Crustle help Celesteela have an easier time against Fire-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Y and Victini, while in return Celesteela can take down Grass- and Steel-types such as Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn with its Fire-type coverage, as well as Mold Breaker Pokemon that would OHKO Crustle or Carracosta such as Mega Gyarados and Haxorus. Ground-types like Landorus-T, Garchomp, Golem, and Donphan help versus Fire- and Electric-types that make up a good portion of the metagame and almost always win against Celesteela such as Mega Charizard X and Y, Zeraora, Magnezone, and Heatran, while in return Celesteela can take down the Grass- and Ice-types that these Pokemon usually lose to such as Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, and Kyurem. Water-types such as Tapu Fini and Primarina can also be viable assets to your team, as they can take down Fire-type threats that Celesteela is ever so weak to, such as Mega Charizard X and Volcarona, as well as Zygarde-C. In return, Celesteela can beat Grass-types that trouble Tapu Fini and Primarina like Mega Venusaur and Tapu Bulu. Celesteela is a very slow threat compared to others in 1v1, so a fast Pokemon like Greninja, Choice Specs Deoxys-S, or Zeraora can be a viable asset to your team to beat Pokemon like Jumpluff and Mega Gengar; in return, Celesteela can take harder hits that these faster, more glass cannon-like Pokemon aren't capable of handling such as a Supersonic Skystrike or Devastating Drake from Dragonite or a Never-Ending Nightmare from Aegislash.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========
A Leech Seed + Protect set can be utilized to stall out opposing Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Substitute Primarina. A Choice Specs set with Air Slash instead of Metal Sound allows all of Celesteela's moves to become more powerful to beat stronger targets such as Mega Lopunny, Kommo-o, Guardian of Alola Tapu Fini, and Serperior, although not having the ability to use Metal Sound causes Celesteela to lose out on matchups such as Porygon-Z and Meloetta.
Checks and Counters
================
**Electric-types**: Celesteela can't hit Electric-types for much damage, and most just OHKO it with a super effective move; such Pokemon include Magnezone, Zeraora, Magneton, Raikou, Zapdos, and Mega Ampharos.
**Fire-types**: Fire-types can easily OHKO Celesteela with their super effective moves. Examples include Mega Charizard X and Y, Heatran, Victini, Incineroar, Mega Blaziken, Volcarona, Volcanion, Rotom-H, Alolan Marowak, Delphox, and Darmanitan.
**Wallbreakers**: Some Taunt users can win against Celesteela if it can't win even after using Z-Metal Sound to bypass the Taunt. Examples of these Pokemon include Amnesia Mew and Deoxys-S. Mega Sableye reflects Taunt and easily stalls Celesteela, while Type: Null can use Confide against Celesteela, rendering its attacks useless.
**Sleep Users**: Jumpluff, Vivillon, and Mega Gengar can easily put Celesteela to sleep and either stall it out or KO it with powerful STAB attacks.
