So, uhhhh... I just noticed something a bit odd.

This is the current known Pokemon list. Notice how Voltorb is listed as excluded.

Now, here's the original leaked screenshot of Galarian Farfetch'd:

Notice anything? That's right, Voltorb is clearly standing(?) right there with its back towards the camera.

This leaves us with three options.

1. The Galarian Farfetch'd screenshot is fake.

2. The regional Pokedex leak is fake.

3. There are more Pokemon available beyond the regional dex.

We know Camp has toys to interact with mons.

Unless Pikachu is tryna breed, the way it's looking at the ball implies that it is, in fact, a ball. Not a Voltorb.

Regional Dex leak is confirmed by multiple sources.

No expanded dex is coming because as I said yesterday, the initial dex leaker, AKA the one that leaked his Discord pfp like a dummy, had both Eternatus and a seen but uncaptured Charizard.

That means both the big legendary battle and the Champ had bitten the dust. He was already at the Post-Game. If the leaker didn't say anything about an expanded dex, there wasn't anything to say.

Regarding Mew and Melmetal, it's likely they come AFTER Eternatus and the leaker didn't have them on hand for whatever reason. Likely the Switch being offline to avoid a ban.

So I am not sure if anyone mentioned this, but why is Melmetal and family not in this dex? Wasn't it supposed to be a new pokemon for 8th gen? Why bring them in just for Lets go and not the new game? I really think there are more pokemon in the game just not shown in the pokedex yet.

EDIT: Greninja'd lol So really I am sure there will be a bunch more pokemon then whats just shown. Plus, we don't know what the post game is right? that normally adds a lot of older pokemon

We haven't seen any indication that there will be more Pokemon in the post-game. We know Mew is in based on the marketing materials.

We think we're now waiting for any reveals of Pokemon that are in the Galar Dex, but not obtained in regular gameplay. Historically, this has only been reserved for Mythical Pokemon. Meltan and Melmetal are Mythical. There are cases of Legendaries and Mythicals being treated similarly (Ho-oh and Lugia in FRLGE and Deoxys in ORAS) and this game has thrown out a lot of established precedent. I wouldn't expect a lot from the remaining category. Wild cards are possible to sneak in the likes of Mewtwo, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Smash Bros Characters that would make for interesting raids (if they can do timed online events). The eventual datamine will eliminate any doubts.

Regarding Voltorb and what not - we also know from LGPE that they're not afraid of acknowledging Pokemon that you can't use in the games (the non Kanto Eevee evolutions).

Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but the question becomes how many Pokémon are behind Eternatus. There are going to be events, Max Raids, anniversaries, etc. which may give us Pokemon you can’t run into during playthrough, or even postgame. I’m holding off putting a cap on the Dex till we get a datamine.

My Opinions On All The New Galar Pokemon Post Leak/Pre-Launch:

Warning: A Long Read

Grookey Evos

Not much to say about Thwakey (aside I can now seeing people making crude "Thwakey my monkey" jokes), it's just a taller Grookey in a rather unpleasant lime green onesie.
Go, Rillaboom! A+ work on the pun, translation team. I actually like Rillaboom. Like it's odd it pulled a tree stump drum out of nowhere, looks like it would be awkward to carry around. Also it's a bit of a jump between Thwakey and Rillaboom. The middle evo's design is supposed to link the basic stage with the final stage but nothing about Thwakey makes me think it was going to lose the morph suit and grow a thick mane of leafy hair. It feels like two different people made Thwakey and Rillaboom and didn't talk to each other about how one would transition to/from the other.

Scorbunny Evos

Now Raboot is what I'm talking about with the middle stage linking the basic and final stages. Raboot starts the theme of Scorbunny becoming a marathon runner, giving it a body pattern that looks similar to tall collared jackets you see athletic people casually wearing while training in cold weather. It also swaps the nasal bandage with a headband which I think many would more easily recognize as an exercise piece of clothing.
BTW, if you don't already know, I'm bias toward Fire-types. So I have no problem with Cinderace, infact I think it kind of looks the best out of the Galar Starters. Sure, it looks like it came straight out of a shonen anime, but then again that's the kind of Pokemon I would want fighting for me. Admittedly the marathon runner theme it's supposed to have is a bit hidden, but I think once we see its animations it may become more apparent. Same also with it being a Fire-type, along previous Fire Starters it doesn't have any place where open flames can be seen on its body though we know that's because the bottom of its feet are where the fire comes from. I see a lot of art, official and fanmade, of Cinderace either kicking a burning fireball or just leaving a trail of flames behind it. That and furry porn.

Sobble Evos

And now we've come to the one where each stage feels like its own Pokemon line. Drizzile has nothing to do with Sobble nor Inteleon, so why is it here? Infact if looks like a basic stage just like Sobble but more emo than shy.
Inteleon was a design I needed to get used to, but thankfully official art showing it in a more James Bond like pose quickly made me warm up to it. Yes, James Bond, because this thing is apparently a spy. Like with Cinderace a bit hard to see, especially since you have to overlook how SUPER thin it is. Honestly all the Galar Starter's final evos feel like they made them without a theme first and then later added them in when they decided what they were going to be (they gave Rillaboom a drum, Cinderace a white tank top, and Inteleon black pants).

Also, called the Starter Final Evos would be mono-type! And I'm actually glad, not only because it prevents Cinderace from being another Fire/Fighting but I feel it makes them special oddly. I also feel it gives them room to grow, with no second Typing they have to adhere to that leaves another move slot they don't have to dedicate to another STAB thus giving them a free choice of what coverage they're given or a utility move.

Corviknight Prevos

So they finally made the Angry Bird Pokemon. Joking aside, they both look fine. Rookiedee is a cute round thing and Corvisquire does the middle stage job right (though it does look like a sudden growth spurt for Rookiedee to go through).
Now an odd thing is they're both listed as pure Flying-type. Like I get why they didn't want to make them Steel right away but most other bird without an associated Type were made part Normal because Flying is generally looked upon as a "trait" Type with the only pure Flying being an air elemental. If they decided that Flying can be its standalone Type I wonder if this means they may go back and change a few other Normal/Flying-types either into pure Flying or give them a different secondary Type.

Skwovet & Greedent

So these are the long teased squirrel Pokemon... and they're certainly squirrels. Like Pachirisu was, though at least Pachirisu was interesting since it was a Pikaclone. Guess you can include Emolga in that as it was too a squirrel but one that could fly and also was a Pikaclone. Like, did we really need to give this guy two Pokemon slots? I feel either one would be fine standing alone if you must include them.

Wooloo & Yamper Evo

Now I included these two together because I have the same thought about them: their evolution went exactly where I thought they would go and, you know what, I think they did a pretty good job. Dubwool looks like its ready to ram you and Bolthund is a good boi.

Nicket & Thievul

Guessing these are supposed to be gentlemen thieves in fox form? They sort of also give me Purrloin vibes, maybe because of the sultry eyes, stealing theme, and Dark-typing. I like they're style, but I'm just not getting anything from them (are you, ladies?) so I'll have to see how they play.

Milcery

Alcremie's prevo and it has me asking some questions. A MAJOR thing about Alcremie was it had a ton of different forms based on fruit topping and what its whip cream is made out of. So, how is that going to work with Milcery being its basic stage? Like, does it have a unique evolution method where you need to give it a topping & feed it a cream flavor to evolve into a certain kind of Alcremie? Is it random what it becomes? Can you change what topping & flavor Alcremie is thus this isn't a factor?
Anyway, I do like its design at least, it's pretty much what a still image of the slash formed when you drop a droplet of liquid into a container of cream. Nice touch.

Blipbug, Dottler, & Orbeetle

Poor Ledian, it's been replaced by a new ladybug that's a much better and more interesting Typing. And if you're wondering, yes, this is more or less the life cycle of a ladybug, they have a larvae and pupa stage which Blipbug and Dottler resemble. Not sure why they're Psychic-type, but considering my thoughts on Skwovet & Greedent I'm glad they're doing something interesting with them since we got plenty of generic Gen Bugs they should experiment. As long as it gets Bug Buzz and Psychic (and a good Special Attack stat... and Speed) I can see this thing holding at least a small niche; as small as a ladybug.

Chewtle

Wow, I don't think you could have any other two Pokemon with drastic art styles between evolutions. I would never guess Chewtle would evolve into Drednaw. Not quite sure how I feel about it, like I'm more wondering how does it even keep its head up its so big.

Hattena, Hattrem, & Hatterene

Our waifu family of this gen and they're certainly a strange bunch. They're hat-based, huh.
Hattena looks like an In-Training Digimon. It's just a head with floppy hair and a party hat. Actually its odd it has a party hat because if if didn't I would say the family was entirely based around the lore of a witch's pointed hat. Heck, maybe they still are but much like how Mime Jr. is more of a clown than a mime maybe they felt for the basic stage to do something cuter before it mixes with the supernatural.
Hattrem is where the cute monster girl comes into play; much like Kirlia, Gothita, & Steenee before it. It's also where it becomes more witch-y with the hat... and now thinking about it the locks of hair looks like brooms.
Wait, is Hatterene supposed to look like a witch hat resting on a broom? If so that's pretty clever, combining two items associated with witches together like that. Now on the waifu scale it more stands with Gothitelle than it does with Gardevoir and Tsareena, you'd have to have certain tastes to call it as your waifu. It's not bad looking now I have an idea what it is, though now that I do I kind of feel weird they took that concept and tried making it as feminine as possible. I think the artists need to draw a few Beauties and female Swimmers they're getting antsy again it seems.
BTW Hatterene gets a Gigantamax! I guessed they really liked it, so much so that it barely changes appearance. Though I guess I now know why its G-Max Move is called Smite, since its a broom it wants to smite any dust mite it see and at its size you and your Pokemon are the dust mite! Not sure why it causes Confusion though, maybe because the sweeping it'll do kicks up so much dust it'll knock you about and make you lose your senses?

Arrokuda & Barraskewda

So indeed the fish that Cramorant picks up is the new fish Pokemon... and that's all I really got to say. Neat they're based on a, ooh, barracuda *plays drum beat*. Oh, and I guess with a name that has "arro-" and "skew" in it you're asking to be used as a projectile.

Silicobra & Sandaconda

You know I think these two would have worked better as Rock-types instead of Ground-types. Aside their names referencing rocks (silicon and sand), Serpent Pokemon have one of those "super" buffing status moves in Coil that increases Attack, Defense, & Accuracy and Rock-type moves are famously known for being inaccurate. So combine them together and you'll at the very least have a niche where they set up as many Coils as they can and unleash stronger and accurate Stone Edges and Rock Slides! Not that they probably won't be able to do, but the Rock-type moves won't have STAB. Though I guess that does mean they have STAB Earthquake... and maybe (a more accurate) Drill Run?
The designs are alright, they get the point across though I have some hiccups with them. Silicobra looks too bland and its ashamed its hood is more of a sack around its head, guess we'll have to stick with Arbok for hood patterns. I like the patterns on Sandaconda though not sure what the tube around its head is supposed to be and its very distracting, is it a hood or a darker part of its body? Honestly I was originally meh on this Pokemon but now seeing what they could potentially do with Coil I'm interested in seeing what they do.

Sinistea

Wait... I'm confused. The eyes are now part of the tea cup even though Polteagiest the body is the tea, what? Aw, who am I kidding, this is cute as heck. It's even using its arm to form the rest of the handle! I'll buy a full set... I'll still never drink it though.

Rolycoly Evos

... You ruined it. You had a great design with Rolycoly, GF, you only needed to expand on it... and you ruined it.
Now I have no problem with it evolving into a mine cart, that's fine and fits with the theme of the Pokemon. But my problem with Carkoal is the face. Instead of it being a burning eye (or two burning eyes if they want to show a form of progression) they gave it Golem's face! Why? It completely looks out of place as you have this completed creature face with eyes, mouth, and nose jetting out of a mine cart which is supposed to be its body.
And it just gets worse. So, it goes from being a piece of coal on wheels to a mine cart of coal, what do you think it'll become next? A tank? A locomotive? No, it becomes your generic hulking kaiju like Tyranitar and Aggron. Huh, WHY? Why drop the theme with Coalossal which was setting it up to be an actually interesting looking Pokemon. You want to know why?
Gigantamax, that's why! Coalossal G-Maxes into this Mt. Doom volcano monster (because when I think coal I think volcanoes). Admittedly the volcano monster looks awesome, but they ruined a good theme they had going. If they wanted this volcano monster G-Max then make a Pokemon that's volcano theme.

Cufant & Copperajah

So this is the Pokemon that Chairman Rose is seen sending out. I'm not completely sure what to think about it, it's just suddenly an elephant; an elephant in the room you can say. A copper elephant, does that hold any meaning. *Googles* Oh, well here's a book called "The Copper Elephant", let's see what it's about. Let's see... alternate future... fascist regime... child labor... Okay, probably not. Wait, apparently the author, Adam Rapp, wrote the book because he was dissatisfied with the capitalism, America's "obsession with commerce", and the negative effects of the Industrial Revolution (which was notorious for having child workers in dirty and hazardous factories). Okay, maybe there's a connection there as Galar has an industrial theme to it? Uh, I don't know, maybe a copper elephant is just a copper elephant (BTW, the chemical element for "Copper" on the periodic table is "Cu", like in "Cu"fant (the -fant coming from ele"phant"))

Impidimp Evos

These are just GLORIOUS! Well, Grimmsnarl is, when I first saw Morgrem I just rolled my eyes. I thought with its long greasy black hair it was supposed to be a "take that" on internet trolls who are portrayed as unhygienic teens who let their hair grow long. Why roll my eyes at that, well consider this was made by a company which gets a lot of criticism for their decisions, feels like GF might have been saying something about their fans. Heck, they still can be.
Whatever is the case, that didn't stop them from getting back on track with Grimmsnarl. What's so impressive about it? I just like how unapologetic ugly it is. Impidimp is the playful/weirdo kind of imp that's annoying. Grimmsnarl is the mythical goblin which was an actual dangerous fey creature of yore. It will mess you up, laugh in your face, maybe then help you and heal you up, and then beat you up again cause you're just too much fun. Then it'll get hungry and eat you.

Toxel & Toxricity

What are these things supposed to be? I like their Typing, Poison & Electric (too bad you can't inflict both status ailments at once but much like with Salazzle you have a choice of what status ailment you want to inflict at least). Nothing really to say about Toxel, it's just a purple dinosaur(?) with an electric horn. Toxricity has much more going on with it including having two forms, I'm guessing one is male and the other female? Could we have a Meowstic situation where, even though the same Pokemon, it has different Movepools (and maybe Abilities & Stats) giving the genders different roles? If Yamper or Morpeko isn't up your ally but you're still looking for an Electric-type maybe these Pokemon are just what you're looking for. I'm definitely thinking of giving them a try.

Snom & Frosmoth

The Venezuelan Poodle Moth finally became a Pokemon! And a unique one at that, Ice/Bug. It doesn't look like a defensive Pokemon as well, does this mean we have an offense focused Ice-type *GASP*?! Joking aside, hopefully it is cause Ice/Bug may be unique but it certainly ain't a Type that'll help it survive long, quad weak to Rock & Fire no thank you. It has a lot of hurdles to get through, though maybe if they give it enough Speed and Special Attack it can pull off some Quiver Dances to be a deadly but fragile sweeper. Though I never understood why some moth Pokemon skipped the pupa stage and went right to being a moth (Venonat family, Surskit family, and now Snom family).

Sizzlipede & Centiskorch

Well, we may not have the Larvesta family but not only do we have another elemental moth but also another Fire/Bug-type (so quad weak only to Rock, a bit of a step up)! What can I saw that other's haven't, it looks neat. If I wasn't already using a Fire-type, and now that they ruined Rolycoly, I would certainly have given it a try.
I should note a lot of people are saying the Snom family and Sizzlipede family are version exclusives. If so, I find it odd as Centiskorch has a Gigantamax but no news if Frosmoth does. So either the version exclusivity thing isn't true or we still have a lot more Gigantamax Pokemon to be revealed. As for G-Centiskorch, yeah, it looks awesome. Like a fire dragon centipede. BTW that makes for 3 Fire-type Gigantamax, weird.

Clobbopus & Grapploct

Marine animals that are pure Fighting-types, didn't you already do that with the Crabrawler family? Don't really got anything to say here, infact if they weren't part of the leak I would think they were fakemons.

Stonjourner

Okay, I get wanting to make a Pokemon themed on Stonehenge, but really? Your best idea was just putting a face on one of the stone arches? Feels a bit forced.

Pincurchin

Alright, needed a sea urchin Pokemon. Though yet again a marine animal that's not Water-type. Why? Like, Yamper is already pure Electric-type so at least making Pincurchin Electric/Water would give it a difference within its own generation.

Ideedee

Hmm, there's no Chansey family, Audino, Alomomola, or Comfey in Galar. And this Pokemon is suspicious shaped like a pink blob but it's not pink. HMM...
Well, whether it is this gen's healer/big experience giver there is a little more to it. Looks like it also has gender difference, not sure if that means anything though.

Applin, Flapple, & Appletun

So, I think the pun here is that this Pokemon is based on a "worm in an apple", but instead of the bug "worm" it's the dragon "wyrm", because they're both pronounced the same way. So, yeah, this Pokemon is Grass/Dragon. I'll give them points for creativity with the pun, but this Pokemon is just strange all around.
For one thing apparently Flapple and Appletun are split evos, Applin evolves into either one or the other. Sticking with the dragon theme, Flapple becomes an Amphiptere (a dragon with wings but not legs) while Appletun becomes a Drake (a dragon without wings).
On top of all that, they have a Gigantamax where is becomes a full on Wyrm (a dragon without wings or legs). However it's not clear whether the Gigantamax is for Applin itself, both its evolutions, or maybe they all share it?
I have absolutely no idea. And this isn't even the pseudo Legendary!

Eiscue

So it's a Penguin with two forms: one where its head is encased in an ice block shaped like its head and another where its just a penguin with a blue head. Whenever you're ready to make sense GF I'll be here, moving on through your newest set of madness.

Dreepy, Drakloak, & Dragapult

Are you tired of the Pseudo Legendaries being Dragons? Well TOO BAD!
Yes, these are our Pseudo Legendaries and, sit down for this one. You thought the "Wyrm in an Apple" Dragons were confusing? These are Dragons based on both an extinct species of lizard called the Diplocaulus (known for having a boomerang shaped head)... and a stealth bomber. Yes, as in the jet. It's a Dragon/Ghost-type. It's a ghostly lizard that's head is a stealth bomber jet and it fires its pre-evolutions like missiles.
This is insane... yet I can't help but love it! It's so ridiculous, who thought of this? Where can I get what they were smoking that created this, and how long in a stupor were they this thing got all the way from conception to official approval? I want Dragapult to have a Gigantamax, I must see how far down this rabbit hole go, or maybe in this case a cannon shaft.

Falinks

Not wanting to wait till the Greek/Roman region, we got a Pokemon based not an animal, object, or mythical creature but rather a battle strategy. A "phalanx" is essentially two lines of soldiers who held their shields outside and overlapping each other creating a human tank, usually having spears sticking out to stab the enemy. Falinks is only one line of Pokemon but they wear a helmet that puts a shield on eitherside of them with horns sticking out. And the "links" aren't connected, each one is this black Kirby-like creature which are free to separate from one another when not in formation... yet they all count as one Pokemon still like Exeggcute.

Dracozolt, Arctozolt, Dracovish, Arctovish

I already gave my full opinion on the new Fossil Pokemon so I'll be brief here. I like the concept, I get the concept, but I don't like what they did with it. They went a bit too silly and shock value, but after that initial shock value I still can't accept these Pokemon. In interviews we're told they have strict rules for Pokemon design yet this throws that out of the window for little payoff. Also I kind of find the parts they chose to be boring (fish head, raptor head, t-rex body, seal body), if they were really going to go this route at least use the body parts people would want to make monster mash-ups with (triceratops head, brontosaurus head, t-rex head, stegosaurus body, pterodactyl body, & raptor body).

Armorless Zacian & Zamazenta

Now this was a surprise, turns out the two Legendary wolves don't start with their sword and shield armor! And I gotta say, while Zacian looks a bit silly with the braids, Zamazenta is looking fierce!
We also learned of their Types: armorless Zacian is mono Fairy-type and Zamazenta is mono Fighting-type. However when they do put on their armor they both become part Steel-type. Curious that Zacian wasn't the Fighting-type as it would have meant it would have gotten STAB from Sacred Sword, meanwhile Fairy/Steel is a very good defensive Typing (and an easy excuse to give it Crafty Shield). Not sure why they chose to do it the other way around, unless they wanted Zacian to be a Dragon killer. Speaking of which.

Eternatus

Here it is, the rumored "Evil Legendary" and, yeah, it certainly does look evil no matter it being a skeleton dragon or a cloud with a claw coming from it. Now I see why they'd want Zacian to be the Dragon killer... even though its part Poison-type so receives neutral damage from Fairy-type moves.
Now for some reason it's listing the last newly revealed Gigantamax to be Grimmsnarl... when I think it's most likely for Eternatus. It's a giant humanoid form, much like the one depicted on the side of the hill. Yeah, I don't think they would have made a giant mural of Gigantamax Grimmsnarl terrorizing the people of Galar.
But eitherway, Eternatus is looking awesome and with it having two forms and a most likely Gigantamax I can't wait to see how this unfolds in the story.

PHEW! Okay, Taking a break now. When I come back I'll do the Galarian Forms. However I may have some comments I want to respond to before then.

I mean, good. X and Y, while I liked them a lot, clearly lacked content in anticipation of a third version which never came. It's a good sign if these games are intended not to have any third version, because it means they'll out in all of the content that they intend to put in Galar.

It's also nice as an Ubers player noting that Eternatus is probably fully powered right off the bat, as opposed to every gen since 5 where the third legendary has been total garbage in anticipation of later buffs.

This is literally the worst logic I have ever seen regarding Pokemon games and GameFreak.

It's clear they haven't gone all out on anything. 55%+ of old mons gone. World textures are kinda ass. No "official" line yet on what Dynamax is. XY should have got a third version. I loved Kalos, it gave me a lot of options (XY dex was 450 pokemon). So far, Galar hasn't even hit that number. This is an absolute travesty. After ORAS and USUM, its crystal clear to me GameFreak don't want to make good Pokemon games anymore. They are charging us more and giving us less. I expect more from a company I have supported for 20 years. I expect more from the company which literally has more money than they can shake a stick at.

And yet here I am still going to buy it.

Totally fine :D i just try to pick 6 new mons every time a gen comes out. I like to give them a try. But for this one was hard...I'm picking shield and no grass type seems cool :(

The worst part of all of this is as bullshit as Dexit is Pokemon games are still well worth the 60 dollars to play. They also never lose value so you can just re-sell them later.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mew wasn't in the dex/some mons existed and gamefreak omitted some details in the process. Who knows? Let's wait to see the final results and what's really inside the game.

Interesting, probably added subtitles to some previously seen footage. The fact that Chairman Rose does the World of Pokemon intro was mentioned in one of the 90 Minute Demo articles so there was that to give it credibility.

This is literally the worst logic I have ever seen regarding Pokemon games and GameFreak.

It's clear they haven't gone all out on anything. 55%+ of old mons gone. World textures are kinda ass. No "official" line yet on what Dynamax is. XY should have got a third version. I loved Kalos, it gave me a lot of options (XY dex was 450 pokemon). So far, Galar hasn't even hit that number. This is an absolute travesty. After ORAS and USUM, its crystal clear to me GameFreak don't want to make good Pokemon games anymore. They are charging us more and giving us less. I expect more from a company I have supported for 20 years. I expect more from the company which literally has more money than they can shake a stick at.

And yet here I am still going to buy it.

I believe they're saying that if you like it, you'll get the 'full' Galar experience in one game without having to play something that's obviously incomplete and then buy a marginally-upgraded sequel for closure to the story or the 'true' form of the main legendary and if you don't, on the bright side there's most likely only gonna be 1 release rather than 2 focused on the region. That's logic I can at least follow better than "they continue to charge more for a worse game, but I'll still buy it anyways."

Eldegoss and Bolthund are likely alternates cuz otherwise I'd be stuck with 2 mons forever judging by the other 4 members' position in the Dex

Also, an interesting I've noticed is that a lot of pairs of counterparts have one part of the pair but not the other. Doesn't really mean anything, but it's a little interesting

We haven't seen any indication that there will be more Pokemon in the post-game. We know Mew is in based on the marketing materials.

We think we're now waiting for any reveals of Pokemon that are in the Galar Dex, but not obtained in regular gameplay. Historically, this has only been reserved for Mythical Pokemon. Meltan and Melmetal are Mythical. There are cases of Legendaries and Mythicals being treated similarly (Ho-oh and Lugia in FRLGE and Deoxys in ORAS) and this game has thrown out a lot of established precedent. I wouldn't expect a lot from the remaining category. Wild cards are possible to sneak in the likes of Mewtwo, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Smash Bros Characters that would make for interesting raids (if they can do timed online events). The eventual datamine will eliminate any doubts.

Regarding Voltorb and what not - we also know from LGPE that they're not afraid of acknowledging Pokemon that you can't use in the games (the non Kanto Eevee evolutions).

true I can see them adding more in after Eternius in raids and events. Maybe some sort of swarm stuff that happens in the wild area over time.

And we know there has to be some more secret legendaries in the game. Ever since Mew there has been more then what the game said. We will get Mew like pokemon for sure post launch.

Plus, with the backlash of the no regional dex, I think Nintendo would have gamefreak release more pokemon over time, like in swarm events or something. I see it mostly being the old starters, popular ones, and some legendaries.

I'm willing to give GF the benefit of the doubt that they put what they felt was a lot of heart and effort into the games and that they decided to stop supporting all the mons to improve other aspects of the game. My concern is that the bulk of that redirected effort went into aspects like Pokemon Camp or the Currydex instead of postgame content that better warrants the extra $20 on top of a 3DS game. While not much has been leaked about the postgame so far, what has been claimed admittedly doesn't sound like it's more than the 3DS adventure.

I would really love it if GF released postgame episodes through DLC periodically, but I'm not going to hold my breath that they have such plans and are just being stupidly secretive about them. Like, I enjoyed refresh well enough in gen 7, but I didn't use it that much and I am skeptical that I will spend any time making curry unless it's really useful for EV training or something.

Overall, I'm still pretty excited for the game and a lot of the new mons, but definitely concerned about whether GF put enough effort into the parts of the game I care about to make up for the lack of mons I care about.
