I was really back and forth about voting for the simisear, just because i'm usually really unlucky with non 100% accuracy moves, but I hit 5 hurricanes in a row today and took it as a sign to vote for it. Also I'm suprised no one nominated bronzor as a counter, torterra can not touch that mon.

I think Bronzor was blacklisted as it can check basically anything without STAB Fire Dark or Ghost moves.

So when playing against Oricorio, you always struggle switching something in. In a certain state of the metagame, I really thought you couldn't even counter it realiably just of its ability to get through common "Counters" like Regirock for example.
Nowadays, I don't think so anymore. Still, chosing a check should be easier to get simple points!

For me, Aurorus is by far the best check to common Oricoriosets. You outspeed, eat up its STABs and HP Fighting only has a chance to kill Aurorus at +1. With 2 rounds of Hail chipdamage, Aurorus KOs this set guaranteed even at +1 Sp.Def. with Blizzard!

Don't mind me, just talking about yet another thing Regirock is capable of dealing with in this tier. Regirock is easily my favourite counter because it eats everything Oricorio can throw at it (see calcs below), KO's with Stone Edge (investing 12 into attack will make this guaranteed if a 93.8% chance isn't quite enough for you), and depending on the situation can be used to set up rocks or throw off a toxic.Regirock @ Leftovers

Alongside Regirock literally geting a free switch every time Oricorio comes out, it's important to note that Regirock doesn't get worn down heavily by Stealth Rock as other counters might which allows for better longevity and more switching opportunities (running protect over toxic only enhances this as well). When you also consider the general role Regirock plays as defensive glue on a lot of teams, I think it's pretty obvious as to why Regirock is an amazing counter.

This floating snowflake lives up to it's name as being one of PU's strongest specially defensive walls in the entire tier. No matter the setup potential your opponent will have, Cryogonal will always have some trixx up its' sleeves to combat them (see what I did there?). As a matter of fact, this Cryogonal set was designed quite literally to counter Oricorio lol. Frost Breath is the neat tech of choice here because it allows Cryogonal to combat Oricorio even after it has already boosted! If being mentioned in its' Smogdex isn't proof enough, here are some calcs just to show you that you don't need a base 50 defense and a horrible defensive typing to be standing among the top threats of the PU tier.

Frost Breath is clearly the move of choice here because it is the reason Cryogonal is able to counter all sets of Oricorio Sensu and PomPom. (Shout out to Royesk for that one).
Maybe Cryogonal can actually use Attract? Because I quite literally am in love with this mon and all of its' potential. There is no better counter who is as reliable as Cryogonal.

If you run a 50% berry like aguav or wiki, you even live SSS into hurricane if you predict two turns wrong and went for pursuit or if oricorio-sensu lives the sucker punch. If you run black glasses, sucker punch just ohkos for sure.
What also speaks for tomb is the ability to hit through sub with infiltrator.
Spiritombs downside is that it needs good prediction in order to check it well.
All in all i think it is one of the best checks to oricorio-sensu, you just have to play smart.
