Sylveon impersonating Zygarde.png

Thanks KeeganSkymin4444 for the sprite
The idea of this Pet Mod is for a Pokémon to "replace" another Pokémon, taking some of their key features in the process.

When a Pokémon "replaces" or "impersonates" another Pokémon, they gain any signature moves, items, or forms that the one being impersonated may have. The typing and category of these signature moves can change, but BP, PP, Accuracy and secondary effects are set in stone. Signature abilities follow the same rules, you may change their type or category (Poison-type Fairy Aura clone or Special Pure Power clone), but not their effects. The Pokemon being impersonated also gives all its abilities, and optionally its typing, replacing the secondary type of the impersonator. The Pokémon keeps their movepool and their stats proportially to each other, but not their Base Stat Total. The stats follow a simple formula:
Result Stat = Impersonator Stat * Impersonated BST / Impersonator BST
Stats have to be rounded up or down to match the exact target BST. As for the stats of forms, they work like in other Mods like Mix and Mega and Fusion Evolution. In each slate with a form, the stat changes will be posted to avoid confusion.
Some special Pokémon have their primary typing, such as Starters, Electric Rodents, Regional Rodents, Regional Birds, Regional Bugs and Fossils.
Example: Bug/Normal impersonating Fire/Fairy
If Fire/Fairy isn't a special mon, results can be Bug/Normal, Bug/Fairy or Bug/Fire.
If Fire/Fairy is a special mon (has obligatory changes), results can be Fire/Normal or Fire/Bug.
The best way to explain this is with an example. Let's say the Pokémon being replaced is Zygarde.
Impersonated: Zygarde
Type: Dragon/Ground
Base Stat Total: 600 BST
Signature Moves: Land's Wrath, Core Enforcer, Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves
Abilities: Aura Break, Power Construct
Compatible Items: None
Signature Forms: Complete and 10%
Base Stat Total (Complete Form): 708 BST (+108 HP / +10 SpA / -10 Spe)
Base Stat Total (10% Form): 486 BST (-54 HP / -50 Def / -20 SpA / -10 SpD / +20 Spe)
Now, let's say, the Pokémon replacing it was Sylveon.
Stats are as follows:
HP = 95 * 600 / 525 = 108.57
Atk = 65 * 600 / 525 = 74.29
Def = 65 * 600 / 525 = 74.29
SpA = 110 * 600 / 525 = 125.71
SpD = 130 * 600 / 525 = 148.57
Spe = 60 * 600 / 525 = 68.57
The result would be something like this:
Impersonator: Sylveon
Type: Fairy/Ground
Stats: 109/74/74/126/148/69 (600)
Signature Moves: Ribbon's Wrath (Fairy, Special), Bow Enforcer (Fairy, Special), Thousand Swirls (Ground, Special), Thousand Feelers (Fairy, Special)
Abilities: Aura Break, Power Construct
Compatible Items: None
Signature Forms: Complete and 10%
Base Stat Total (Complete Form): 217/74/74/136/148/59 (708)
Base Stat Total (10% Form): 55/74/24/106/138/89 (486)
And there we have it. Sylveon impersonating Zygarde.

Miscellaneous:
  • The Pet Mod has a council, which is currently composed of me and KeeganSkymin4444. Contact us if you have any questions.
  • The Pet Mod will be slate based. Every slate, the council will post a few Pokémon to get replaced.
  • Only Pokémon that get replaced are allowed to be used. That is to say, this will be a micro-meta.
  • Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics are quickbanned. Impersonator Pokémon will get Gigantamax Forms if the impersonated one has it, but those forms will only be usable in an Ubers side-meta.
  • Megas, Primals, Ultras and signature Z-Moves are returning, but not regular Z-Moves.
  • Stats cap at 255. If an impersonator has a stat that is over 255 (thus doesn't meet the impersonated BST target), it is forbidden to be used.

Incineroar offers its Fire-type (obligatory), a signature move (Darkest Lariat), a signature Z-Move (Malicious Moonsault), and 530 BST.
Decidueye offers its Grass-type (obligatory), a signature move (Spirit Shackle), a signature Z-Move (Sinister Arrow Raid), and 530 BST.
Primarina offers its Water-type (obligatory), a signature move (Sparkling Aria), a signature Z-Move (Oceanic Operetta), a signature ability (Liquid Voice) and 530 BST.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Decidueye
Impersonator: Cufant
Stats: 116/128/79/64/79/64
Type: Grass/Steel
Abilities: Overgrow/Long Reach
Move Changes:
Spirit Shackle -> Nail Down
- Type: Steel
- Classification: Physical
Sinister Arrow Raid -> Rapid-fire Nail Rain
Overview: Power Whip plus Nail Down plus Ground coverage gives you pretty much all you need to succeed. You don’t have any recovery apart from Rest, so you’ll probably just want a good amount of coverage to take down your foes. Grass/Steel is also a really good defensive typing, so you can make use of it to tank some hits, possibly via Assault Vest.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Incineroar
Impersonator: Pikachu
Stats: 58/91/66/83/83/149
Type: Fire/Electric
Abilities: Blaze/Intimidate
Move Changes:
Darkest Lariat -> Burning Lariat
Type: Fire
Classification: Physical
Malicious Moonsault -> Chaotic Cinder Crash
Type: Fire
Classification: Physical
Overview: Pikachu lends itself to changes rather well thanks to its high Speed stat giving it a significant edge over other Pokemon. However, it’s physical attack stat is merely passable. Luckily for Pikachu, it gets access to the powerful move of Volt Tackle, which allows it to hit things hard, even with a relatively poor Attack stat. Using a Choice Band gives you a relatively strong punch for your super strong Electric move. You also get powerful other moves like Knock Off and Extreme Speed.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Raichu
Impersonator: Regigigas
Stats: 79/116/80/58/80/72
Type: Electric/Normal
Abilities: Static/Lightning-Rod
Move Changes:
Volt Tackle -> Body Check
- Type: Normal
- Classification: Physical
Forms:
Alolan Form
- Stats: 79/111/75/63/85/72
- Type: Electric/Psychic
- Abilities: Psyche Surfer (Psychic Terrain clone of Surge Surfer)
- Move Changes:
Stoked Sparksurfer -> Massive Mental Mash
- Activation Move: Zen Headbutt
- Type: Psychic
- Classification: Physical
Overview: Let’s make Raichu big, shall we? Base form is alright with Rock Polish, but Alolan Form with Body Check and Psy Surfer makes it very tough to beat out under Psychic Terrain, especially with powerful options like Earthquake, Zen Headbutt, Knock Off, and all the elemental punches. And lets just say you don’t want to be on the receiving end of a Massive Mental Mash...

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Decidueye
Impersonator: Falinks
Stats: 73/113/113/79/67/85
Type: Fighting/Ghost
Abilities: Overgrow/Long Reach
Move Changes:
No change
Overview: They have bows now. And you know how No Retreat normally prevents you from being able to switch? These guys can’t even trap themselves anymore. Their power is undeniable. Also, nearly unresisted STAB with good coverage to round it off is nothing to sneeze at.
Fighting/Ghost isn't nearly unresisted- It is completely unresisted as the current game does not possess a Ghost/Normal Pokemon.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Decidueye
Impersonator: Gallade
Stats: 69/128/67/66/118/82 (BST: 530)
Type: Grass/Fighting
Abilities: Overgrow/Long Reach
Move Changes:
Hookshot (Physical Fighting-type Spirit Shackle)
Chained Pummeling (Physical Fighting-type Sinister Arrow Raid)
Overview: It got itself a grab and it ain't going down without you. A slightly better version of Gallade, trading its Psychic STAB for the better Leaf Blade and an ability to help avoid the effects of Rough Skin and similar things, but at the cost of having more weaknesses especially Flying.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Incineroar
Impersonator: Octillery
Stats: 82/116/83/116/83/50 (BST: 530)
Type: Fire/Water
Abilities: Blaze/Intimidate
Move Changes:
Fireball (Special Fire-type Darkest Lariat)
Cannonball Frenzy (Special Fire-type Malicious Moonsault)
Overview: A cannon that deserves the cannon. Fire/Water is a relatively unique type to explore and with 2 powerful STABs in Fire Blast and Hydro Pump, it can work well as a Trick Room attacker. It also has Intimidate for better physical bulk as well.

I've got nothing for Primarina yet (Liquid Voice is hellishly niche...), but have a sub for the others.

Hitmonchan as Incineroar
Stats:
58 HP / 122 Atk / 92 Def / 41 SpAtk / 128 SpDef / 89 Speed (530 BST)
Type:
/

Abilities: Blaze (Intimidate)
Move Changes: Corner Clothesline (Fighting, Physical) -> Corkscrew Uppercut (Fighting, Physical)
Overview: Backed by a buffed statline and Intimidate, Hitmonchan's back and more menacing than ever. A solid physical all 'rounder held back by its lacking HP. A Clothesline is also a wrestling move that's commonly known to be mistaken for a Lariat, so the replacement was kinda funny and I said "screw it, it fits since this is kind of like a knock off of incineroar". A Clothesline also retains the wrestling aspect of Incineroar, while getting an uppercut as the Z-Move comes from the boxing aspect of Hitmonchan.

Criticize me all you want about how this is sort of giving people another Fire/Fighting starter, but it gives Hitmonchan a slightly different niche than a Scrafty sub for something else with Intimidate would. Fire also renders it immune to crippling burns.

Cradily as Decidueye
Stats:
92 HP / 87 Atk / 104 Def / 87 SpAtk / 114 SpDef / 46 Speed (530 BST)
Type:

Abilities: Overgrow (Long Reach)
Move Changes: Root Lock (Grass, Physical) -> Tangling Overgrowth (Grass, Physical)
Overview: This submission is probably the most... unique one I'm going to make for this slate, I want to say. Mainly because it's a mono-Grass rather than a dualtype, since otherwise it'd be either unchanged or... Rock/Ghost. That aside, it's Cradily. It's incredibly chunky while not being too passive. Is it on the slow side? Sure, but so's Alola, as the joke goes.

Clefairy as Raichu and Raichu-A
Stats (Normal):
105 HP / 67 Atk / 72 Def / 90 SpAtk / 98 SpDef / 53 Speed (485 BST)
Stats (Alolan): 105 HP / 62 Atk / 67 Def / 95 SpAtk / 103 SpDef / 53 Speed (485 BST)
Type (Both):
/

Abilities (Normal): Static (Lightning Rod)
Ability (Alolan): Fog Flier (Misty Terrain Surge Surfer)
Move Changes: Volt Tackle is now Lunar Burst (Fairy, Special). Sparksurfer is unchanged.
Overview: Hoo boy. Clefairy's really got good statline when scaled to 485. 53 speed isn't a lot until Misty Terrain comes into play, which makes it a surprisingly fast tank while also rendering it unable to be given extra statues, which it likes. Alolan probably wins out here, because those special stats are great, while Defense is still passable enough with that significant HP. Also Clefairy still has its insanely huge coverage list to be unpredictable with, so good luck fighting it.

Hey guys, there's a change of rules (sorry for doing this in the middle of the slate).

For some impersonations, changing the primary type of the Pokémon will be obligatory.
The reason for that is because of two things:
  1. Some Pokemon have types because of the Dex slot they're in. For example, the Pokémon that are starters have Fire, Water and Grass types. The Pokémon impersonating the Grass starter should be Grass.
  2. The secondary type being changed freely is, in my opinion, too similar to how Breeding Variants and Fusion Evolution do things, and I want this Pet Mod to "combine Pokemon" in a more focused way to represent one mon impersonating the other.
The list of Pokémon with obligatory changes will be these:
Fire Starters - Fire
Water Starters - Water
Grass Starters - Grass
Electric Rodents - Electric
Regional Rodents - Normal
Regional Birds - Flying
Regional Bugs - Bug
Fossils - Rock
This means Raichu submissions have to be primary Electric, Starters will have to be primary Fire/Water/Grass respectively.

Another rule change: You can replace the secondary type of the impersonator with the primary OR secondary type of the impersonated. If they have obligatory changes, you can replace either the primary or secondary type of the impersonator with the primary type of the impersonated.

Again, sorry for changing the rules in the middle of the slate.
OK, so when combining a Pokemon, could you make clear what it inherits from its impersonator, the stand on Ubers Pokemon, and any other questions that seem to be vauge.

You can make Ubers impersonate other Pokémon.
Abilities: Punk Rock/Technician/Long Reach
It can only have Overgrow and Long Reach.
Abilities: Solar Flare (Double Speed under Sun)
This is on a gray area, since it's a Electric -> Fire type change, but terrains and weather are different mechanics. I'm gonna say no.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Decidueye
Impersonator: Litwick
Stats: 97 / 57 / 106 / 126 / 106 / 38 (530 BST)
Type: Grass / Fire
Abilities: Overgrow / Long Reach
Move Changes: Spectral Shot (Ghost, Special), Candle's Fumble Rumble (Ghost Type, Special)
Overview: Decently bulky with good Special attack and a decent offensive stab combo. The only somewhat lacking thing about it is the abilities (And movepool to some extent)

Drampa-Incineroar.png

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Incineroar
Impersonator: Drampa
Stats: 85 / 65 / 93 / 147 / 100 / 40 (530 BST)
Type: Fire / Dragon
Abilities: Blaze / Intimidate
Move Changes: Oldest Lariat (Dragon, Special), Ancient Moonsault (Dragon Type, Special)
Overview: With Intimidate, it is a rather bulky Pokémon. Mainly a wallbreaker, but has very varied movepool options which range from a bulkier set with roost, to calm mind, to a huge ammount of coverage options

Ribombee-Primarina.png

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Primarina
Impersonator: Ribombee
Stats: 69 / 62 / 68 / 109 / 80 / 142 (530 BST)
Type: Water / Fairy
Abilities: Torrent / Liquid Voice
Move Changes: Sweet Melody (Water, Special, target is cured of Infestation), Recite The Bee Movie Script (Water Type, Special)
Overview: Fast as hell with nice hp and access to Quiver Dance. Bug Buzz is its main Water stab on Liquid Voice sets, while Sweet Melody is there for Torrent sets. Main attractive here is its high Speed, allowing to have support options such as hazard control or screen setter, while not being passive with 109 Sp Attack

Pikipek-Raichu.png

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Raichu
Impersonator: Pikipek
Stats: 65 / 138 / 54 / 55 / 54 / 119 (485 BST)
Alolan: 65 / 133 / 49 / 60 / 59 / 119 (485 BST)
Type: Electric / Flying (on both)
Abilities: Static / Lightning Rod
Alolan: Storm Surfer (Surge Surfer for Electric Terrain)
Move Changes
: Volt Tackle is unchanged, Storked Skydiver (Flying Type, Psysical, paralyzes opponent, activates with Brave Bird)
Overview: A glass cannon through and through. Pikipek has a surprisingly decent movepool, your main sets will be Brave Bird, Volt Tackle, U-Turn and then vary between Gunk Shot, Swords Dance, Knock Off or Brick Break. The main issue with this thing is that it will end up dying quite fast, either to Recoil or to the fact its defenses suck. The alolan form is very bad but I guess it's your only option to use the z-move

Overview: While it's a slow Pokemon with many weakness and struggles from taking special hits, It hits very hard offensively and makes up for it's bad special bulk with a great HP and Defense stat, along with Intimidate. It's a threatening sweeper with Swords Dance and can make up for it's awful speed with Rock Polish.

This seems pretty cool, but it needs to have Fire as its primary type due to a recent change in the rules. You can make it Fire/Ground or Fire/Rock.

Overview: Fast revenge killer who will exploit Long Reach (even then, there might not be enough contact-harmful threats in this meta where even Overgrow is preferable) so that it won't touch Iron Barbs or other contact-based item and Abilities with its own arsenal of its contact moves, such as Close Combat, Ice/Thunder/Fire Punch, Poison Jab, Pursuit and U-Turn.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Incineroar
Impersonator: Bruxish
Stats: 75 / 118 / 78 / 78 / 78 / 103 (530 BST)
Type: Fire/Water
Abilities: Blaze, Intimidate
Signature Move: Sparking Lariat(Fire Type version of Darkest Lariat)
Signature Z-Move: Super Solar Suplex(Fire Type version of Malicious Moonsault, Sparking Lariat is the trigger move)
Overview: Incineroar is finally fast, and can get even faster thanks to choice scarf. Its uncommon typing makes it fairly interesting and negates its weaknesses to water and grass. Intimidate has always been an excellent ability especially for something like this as it hinders opposing physical sweepers or physical walls who rely on their mediocre attack stat to use gyro ball. The main thing holding it back is its shallow movepool.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Primarina
Impersonator: Indeedee-M
Stats: 66 / 72 / 61 / 117 /107/ 107 (530 BST)
Type: Water/Psychic
Abilities: Torrent, Liquid Voice
Signature Move: Sparkling Aria
Signature Z-Move: Oceanic Operetta(Trigger move is still Sparkling Aria)
Overview: Somehow Primarina + Indeedee becomes a better Indeedee. Good speed, good special defense, meh everything else. It's more likely to be a scarfed sweeper over anything else.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Decidueye
Impersonator: Drakloak
Stats: 87 / 104 / 65 / 77 / 65 / 132 (530 BST)
Type: Grass/Ghost
Abilities: Overgrow, Long Reach
Signature Move: Spirit Shackle
Signature Z-Move: Sinister Arrow Raid (Trigger move is still Spirit Shackle)
Overview: Holy shit it's fast. So this has potential to be a threatening banded sweeper with that speed and that attack. With long reach as the hidden ability it becomes a power house that avoids all those pesky contact side effects. The issue then comes from its lack of grass type moves, of which Drakloak has none. This in turn means overgrow is garbage, but drakloak also lacks physical ghost type moves so having spirit shackle on there could be more useful. However with outrage, u-turn, and psychic fangs it can still do something.

Stats: 53/68/68/95/95/106 (485)

Overview: Offensively it's a much stronger Raichu that gets access to Stab ice moves. While it is slower than before its access to ice moves and solid speed tier make it great for slaying dragons.
Form: Alolan
Stats: 53/63/68/100/95/106 (485)
Type: Electric/Ice
Abilities: Surge Surfer
Signature Z-Move: Stoked Sparksurfer
Overview: A superior version to the original, except for the ability really. Same strengths, same weaknesses, it just hits harder now. If you want to run electric terrain you can give this things specs and watch it wreck shit.

Pokemon Being Impersonated: Primarina
Impersonator: Chatot
Stats: 98 / 83 / 58 / 119 / 54 / 118 (530 BST)
Type: Water/Flying
Abilities: Torrent, Liquid Voice
Signature Move: Sparkling Aria
Signature Z-Move: Oceanic Operetta(Trigger move is still Sparkling Aria)
Overview: Somehow Primarina + Chatot=Better Chatot. Now the choice was obvious because this thing can actually take advantage of liquid voice due to its access to Boomburst. Yeah it's fast and has STAB Boombust with those offenses. I don't think I need to explain why this is going to be good. As for its weakness, priority. Those defenses are fucking garbage and also it has a quad weakness to electric moves.
This is super scary, as it has STAB Boomburst off of 119 SpAttack and can boost with Nasty Plot to make that more absurd. I highly recomend switching it for something else instead of Chatot.

VOTING RULES

Voting phase lasts for around a day or two. In the voting phase, users vote for their preferred submissions and the winning submissions are added to the spreadsheet.
The voting format is as follows:

Pokemon being Impersonated in question: 1st preferred option, 2nd preferred option, 3rd preferred option.
Note: These self voting rules and the explanation are from good user lyd, slightly adapted to fit this pet mod
If you want to vote for yourself now, it gets slightly more complicated. You can always keep voting for yourself as second, but you can change the order a bit, for as long as the number of self-votes equals 2x the number of submissions you made. Let's use some examples to make it more understandable:

Raichu: Yoshiblaze, Lyd, Ludicrousity
Decidueye: Ludicrousity, Lyd, Yoshiblaze
Incineroar: Ludicrousity, Lyd, Yoshiblaze

So this voting format is good, cuz' Lyd voted for himself as second three times, and when you add everything up, he gave himself 6 votes, which is fine, as it is exactly the number of submissions he made for the slate x2. However, say he liked his Raichu submission a lot, and he really wants it to win, he can play around with his votes a little bit:

Raichu: Lyd, Yoshiblaze, Ludicrousity
Decidueye: Ludicrousity, Lyd, Yoshiblaze
Incineroar: Ludicrousity, Yoshiblaze, Lyd

So to make his Raichu first vote, he moved his Incineroar self-vote to last. Makes sense, right? And when you add up the votes, 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 which is exactly what he wants. Let's say that he likes his Decidueye and Incineroar submissions more, and he didn't like his Raichu submission too much. He can do this:

Raichu: Yoshiblaze, Ludicrousity, G-Luke
Decidueye: Lyd, Ludicrousity, Yoshiblaze
Incineroar: Lyd, Ludicrousity, Yoshiblaze

3 + 3 adds up to six, so he's good to that. Small note that this can't be done if he made no Raichu submission because if that was the case, the number of submissions he made x2 would actually end up as 4, which isn't enough. Also, had he only made a single submission, he'd always have to self-vote as #2 or lower because making only one submission gives him only two self-vote points. We hope that was clear, if you had any trouble to understand this, feel free to PM anyone from the council and we'll explain it as best as we can.
In case of a tie, a tiebreaker will be held. The two users in question cannot vote for themselves in this, but they're perfectly free to just not vote.

Unrelated: Aren't Keegan's Primarina and Raichu submissions technically illegal due to not being water and electric respectively with the rule update?
