hello everyone, my name is devin. I bring you here another team and this time i made it around one of my fav ss mons. This team did very well for me in high Ladder (1900+). Although i havent properly tried to ladder with it since i have been busy with irl stuff. Anyways lets get started with the team!

:Sirfetchd:
Code:
Sirfetch'd @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- First Impression
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab

Like always, I wanted to build around a mon which is not used that much in OU. Basically, this set is all about wallbreaking with its incredibly powerful close combat. Additionally, its movepool gives it the capability to dent its few switch-ins with crucial coverage moves, including poison jab (hits clefable). It also has access to both knock off and first impression, which allows it to both provide utility over the course of the game (knocking off items: leftovers and black sludge especially) and revenge kill faster threats (such as hydreigon w/o substitute), respectively. Thanks to its ability "scrappy," it can nullify ghost's immunity to fighting, removing ghosts as a viable switch into CC. For the EVs, 252 attack to make sirfetch'd as strong as possible alongside 228 speed to outspeed both aegislash and mandibuzz (which speedcreeps aegislash). The rest of the evs go into HP, because a bit of additional bulk is always nice. Here are some calcs:

Code:
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 231-273 (57.7 - 68.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery.
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 260-306 (65.9 - 77.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 213-252 (50.7 - 60%) -- 85.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Seismitoad: 288-339 (69.5 - 81.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mandibuzz: 318-375 (75 - 88.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 236+ Def Sylveon: 282-334 (71.5 - 84.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Aegislash-Shield: 378-446 (116.6 - 137.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Torkoal: 189-223 (54.9 - 64.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

:Jirachi:
Code:
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
- Iron Head

The next mon i went with was Jirachi. Now ever since home came out, this mon has been one of my favorite special walls with its outstanding ability to wall the hell out of togekiss(A mon which i hate alot) and also clefable. Basically, this set is all about t waving and making other mons slow so that sirfetchd can come in and start wreaking havoc. The Ev spread is simple, max hp, and 224 special defense to tank special hits, also it tanks a specs shadow ball from dragapult quite easily. It does get 2hkod but atleast u can para flinch it. The 32 speed is there to outspeed adamant bisharp and other 240 speed tier mons.

Code:
252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 224+ SpD Jirachi: 240-284 (59.4 - 70.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 224+ SpD Jirachi: 244-291 (60.3 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 SpA Togekiss Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 224+ SpD Jirachi: 272-322 (67.3 - 79.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

:Hippowdon:
Code:
Hippowdon @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Toxic
- Whirlwind

The third mon, i decided to add was hippo. Due to its amazing bulk, it becomes the best physical wall for the team. Also with this set it can tank special hits, and not get ohkod by Specs Draco Pult and Specs Hydreigon. Tanks hits from both +2 Bisharp, and +2 exca. Eq is just stab and ohkos both sharp and exca, i have toxic because its just nice on it and u can stall mons out. Whirlwind is there for stuff that can setup on it. Also rocky helmet for the chip u turn damage, which is always good.

Code:
+2 252 Atk Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 96+ Def Hippowdon: 244-288 (58 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252+ Atk Black Glasses Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 96+ Def Hippowdon: 297-349 (70.7 - 83%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 160 SpD Hippowdon: 357-421 (85 - 100.2%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 160 SpD Hippowdon: 306-361 (72.8 - 85.9%)
252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 160 SpD Hippowdon: 175-207 (41.6 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Roost
- Scald
- Toxic

The 4th mon i decided to add was yes not seismitoad but mantine. As yall know, rain teams are very common on the ladder along with their best friend "Dracovish". This mon is basically there for the purpose of walling rain teams. This set basically makes mantine a defensive wall but also its a special defensive wall too, since its sp.def stat is already high enough to easily tank special hits and stalls them out with toxic roost spam. Its one of my fav mons to use on this team since y'all love dracovish a bit too much.

Code:
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mantine: 142-168 (37.9 - 44.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mantine: 121-144 (32.3 - 38.5%) -- 97.9% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mantine: 213-252 (56.9 - 67.3%)
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mantine: 249-294 (66.5 - 78.6%)

- Infestation
Onto the 5th mon. Now i am sure you must be wondering how toxapex weak this team is. Fear not! I bring you here , Infestation Pult. The insane Pex killer. Okay enough with the jokes, let me explain the set. Its simple, if you ever see a pex, just infestation, and t bolt it. This set also does a great job in bluffing specs too. Traps bulk up corv versions too. Here are the calcs if you're still questioning this set.
Code:
252+ SpA Expert Belt Dragapult Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Toxapex: 161-190 (52.9 - 62.5%) -- 98.4% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252+ SpA Expert Belt Dragapult Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Corviknight: 175-206 (43.7 - 51.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

:ditto:
Code:
Ditto @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Transform

Last but not least, i was having trouble figuring out what should the scarfer be and then i thought okay any setup mon does very well against this team, for example: D dance pult, Life orb nasty plot hydrei, cloyster etc. Nothing fitted better than ditto here, as it just comes in and reverse sweeps the other team!

ThreatList:
1)Toxapex walls this team hard but the infestation tech will be nice against it, if used well enough.
2)Nasty Plot hydreigon, but you can play around it. Since sirfetchd has got first impression and Sub Hydrei isnt common, Still you have whirlwind Hippo , so you should be fine
3) Corviknight Bulk up

Doesnt zeraora go to town vs this team?
also pls run speed on mantine for conk.. ofc it has to get a good prediction but still conk can rip this team to shreds.... it can come in on hippo or a sirfecthd after it clicks first impression and this team complements the sir alot so it might be annoying to deal with a rampant conk

PS. I am extremely traumatized because a conk beat my ass up so thats what that conk part was about and it is a threat regardless so ye. I like the team alot since it can easily get past its threats by just playing around them and the "threats" are more like inconveniences so nice team bud

You’re very right there, but honestly the two threats u stated I never really had a prob with them with this team. Zera grass knot does not ohko hippo. All you have to do is make plays, also conkeldurr, is a prob for this team, i would prob sack something and then revenge kill it with sirfetch or pult. Thank you for the review though. Was helpful

I'm a bit confused on how the pult can actually work. If the pex comes in on infest can't it just recover & bunker until it's no longer trapped? Also would recommend putting a replay :]

DEVIN MY G!!!
This team is fire man!!
Infestation pult is small but effective innovation at its finest.

Anyway so I'm trying to see some improvements that could be made, and really once you hit that high on ladder it's just about testing and tweaking, I'll suggest some more niche techs that you can try out!

Thunder jirachi
something I tried in my first team with jirachi this gen was a melmetal paraspam team, it was actually highly effective until melmetal was banned, a tweak I made and loved on that team was thunder jirachi.

Thunder jirachi not only boasts the 60% para rate but also is able to threaten a chipped corvi with a 2hko without any special atk investment and also is able to sometimes win rain matchups on its own by leading Vs peliper and taking a free KO with thunder T1!
(I can't tell u how many times that's happened LMAOO)

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Iron Head
- Thunder
- Healing Wish
- U-turn
This is copied straight from another team and I realise your rachi isn't scarfed but thunder will still work even with a - sptk nature if you are worried about sacrificing bulk.

Scarf excadrill
So In an attempt to help improve the zera matchup and make the team more threatening I think it might be worth trying scarf drill or a sand rush drill over the ditto.
I appreciate ditto has its own charm, capable of revenging almost any Pokémon in the metagame no matter how boosted, but drill can also revenge kill well and adds immediate offensive pressure, I think it also takes advantage of the immense breaking power of sirfechd't and helps eliviate the zera and pex weaknesses.

Td;lr
To summarize: This is a fire team drill and thunder rachi I think both are worth a try if you haven't already. I strongly believe that small, innovative techs and tweaks such as the infestation pult here can heavily swing a game, and my suggestions stem from that idea.
Great job bro, keep up the good work !!!

Goat team as always devin
thanks bro

Time to steal it

I'm a bit confused on how the pult can actually work. If the pex comes in on infest can't it just recover & bunker until it's no longer trapped? Also would recommend putting a replay :]

If pex comes in on infest, it will be trapped. Then it will most likely toxic , and then u can t bolt 2hko it. I will show u a replay of this. ima tag u later in it or pm u on cord since i alrdy got u jeron (:
