Speaking of Salamence, I noticed it can learn Iron Defense. Does Anyone think it's a viable move on Mence? I mean, it could be something like
Roost
Toxic
Iron defense
Fire Blast/Dragon Pulse/brick break
just a thought =/
Maybe, but most people attack with HP Ice or Ice Beam which are special moves....

what are the usual starters?
gengar, weavile, breloom n heracross i think?

All of those are quite versatile sweepers, but remember you don't have to send out something like that first.

Well, several of my Pokemon I could use as a starter. One of those is Bronzong, as it states in the first moveset on it's Analysis page, is a great starter. It can at least survive long enough to put something to sleep with Hypnosis, and then Stealth Rock, and then do whatever until it's dead or blows up if Explosion is on the moveset.

Sometimes I also lead with my Ninjask to get ready one of my other Pokemon for battle, such as Metagross or Tyranitar.

Now, as for team building, I'm no expert at it either, but you should have noticed a little pattern there. Steel, Steel, Rock+Sand Stream.
Although my team isn't totally dependant on Sand Stream, they're mostly steel duos so they'll be immune to it.

I think it was all mostly just coincidence rather than actual planning, although planning DID go into Bronzong.

The others I have so far on my team (it's still a WIP until I get more PKMN ready) are Roserade and Magnezone.
It's sort of unbalanced, yes. Gliscor is one of THE best counters to my team. = /
Which is why I need to replace one of my Pokemon with something with Ice Beam or something.

I need Swampert... but....

My name isn't "ShinyElite" for nothing. All forementioned Pokemon are shiny. Sounds like it's bad, but some have just the right nature and IVs in the right places to be good.

That's why I cringe at the thoughts of getting a shiny Mudkip/Swampert. I'd have to be lucky nonetheless and return to my old routes, but.... I'd have to be even luckier to get a decent nature, and IVs? Oh well.

An alternate option I'm going for however is Slowbro. Although it's not immune to Sandstream, it would know Ice Beam and Surf, and be a physical wall. And I also have the options of Synchronize and catching multiple ones to get the right nature AND good IVs.

My team, however, may no longer revolve around Sand Stream (My TTar is lol anyway..) if I can get my hands on shiny Electivire and Gyarados.

That at least would make my team more diverse. And kooler. XD

But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, so for now, my team will be *almost* Sand Stream-proof.

Edit:

@The_Rider: Yay! I was at least right on Bronzong! :D

I've been spamming some known cloners' inbox (but no one is on, and I'm impatient), trying to find the "cloning" AR code for Pearl, and how to use it. Does anyone here know it?

Edit: Answered.

Do most people around Smogon use the one-step hatch AR code? I know nothing about it, just one person mentioned in his thread that he uses it. Is this common? I just got an AR today, but I don't want to be doing anything unfair with it, I really just want it for cloning and items. If everyone does this one-step deal then I guess I'd do it, but frankly the idea seems dishonest to me. I like the old fashioned, non-AR way of doing things.

None of the legitimate breeders use AR in any way shape or form.
I'm not quite sure what the value of legitimacy is on the current market though.

Just following up from the last question, what is the 1-step egg hatch code?

I've been breeding with the Egg glitch, and therefore have several boxes full of eggs I need to get rid of. =[

it's generally accepted by most people. Great breeders like Anti(he accepts it...), Kingbattlus, Stef, Dawnbringer(don't deny it Dawn...), Forbidden, Mario(I believe), etc. Use it since it doesn't touch any part of the egg it doesn't affect legitimacy in whatever way. It simply hacks the game into thinking the egg counter is the lowest possible number which is 6 steps not a step.
