[SET COMMENTS]
Drakloak's great Speed, decent utility movepool, and valuable Ghost typing give it a solid role as a utility attacker. Hex, in combination with Will-O Wisp, is a powerful enough to offset Drakloak's lackluster Special Attack stat. Will-O_Wisp is preferred over Thunder Wave in order to affect everything except Fire-types, which Drakloak matches up well against, and cripple threatening physical attackers such as offensive Mawile, Pawniard, and Falinks. Substitute lets Drakloak avoid being statused by passive Pokemon it can wall, like Pyukumuku and Gloom, and punish switches. U-Turn instead lets Drakloak act as an offensive pivot that can keep up momentum against answers like Munchlax, Type: Null, and Togetic. Fire Blast lets Drakloak beat Dubwool and more directly punish Steel-types like Klang and the aforementioned Mawile and Pawniard. Alternatively, Disable makes for a synergistic pairing with Substitute that lets Drakloak wall Pokemon holding a Choice item like Manectric or relying on a single move to damage it like Shiinotic, but replacing Fire Blast makes Drakloak less offensively threatening. Eviolite maximizes Drakloak's longevity and lets its Substitute survive hits from weaker foes like defensive Roselia. Leftovers can be run alongside Disable in order to create more Substitutes throughout the battle, but doing so leaves Drakloak very frail. Infiltrator allows Drakloak to ignore Substitutes set up by the likes of Silvally-Grass and bypass the rarer dual screens and Aurora Veil.

Drakloak has a valued role on more balanced and offensive teams, where its helps check a large number of Pokemon thanks to its good typing and Speed. Drakloak benefits heavily from Toxic Spikes support, which punishes otherwise safe switch-ins like Lapras, Munchlax, and Type: Null and makes Hex immediately threatening to any grounded target. Mareanie and Roselia are notable setters and removers of the entry hazard and fit well on balanced teams as defensive pivots. Answers to Dark-types like Pawniard and Galarian Linoone make for valuable teammates. Strong Fighting-types such as Hitmontop and Throh are usually the best options for this role, with the former also providing hazard control. They can also break some of Drakloak's best answers, namely Type: Null, Lapras, and Munchlax. Drakloak's decent list of resistances allows it to check threats like Raichu and Manectric, which is appreciated by teammates like Lapras and the aforementioned Mareanie. It isn't a counter to these Pokemon by any means, however, and often has to take on other threats like Dubwool, so additional checks like Roselia or Palpitoad are recommended. Type: Null can also take these threats on, can disregard take Ghost-type attacks and Ice-type attacks from the likes of Lapras and Mr. Rime due to its bulk, and can switch Drakloak in safely with its slow U-turn against Pokemon like Mawile. Setup sweepers that appreciate Drakloak's ability to spread burn and damage across a team, like Silvally and Raichu, are good team options. In return these Pokemon can pressure answers to Drakloak such as Lapras and Togetic.

Drakloak's great Speed, decent utility movepool and valuable Ghost typing give it a solid role as a utility attacker. Hex, in combination with Will-O Wisp, is a powerful enough to offset Drakloak's lackluster Special Attack stat. Will-O Wisp is preferred over Toxic (twave would be a better example) in order to affect more Pokemon (u cripple everything bar fire-types, which you beat anyway) and cripple threatening physical attackers such as offensive Mawile, Pawniard, and Falinks. Substitute lets Drakloak wall passive Pokemon, (u wall them anyway, say it allows you to prevent status) like Pyukumuku and Gloom, and punish switches. U-Turn instead lets Drakloak act as an offensive pivot that can chip down its answers (like?) and keep up momentum. Fire Blast vitally lets Drakloak beat Dubwool and more directly punish Steel-types like the aforementioned Mawile and Pawniard, as well as Klang, (u do 0 to klang though) as they switch in. Disable is another option for this slot, making for a synergistic pairing with Substitute that lets Drakloak completely wall Pokemon that hold a Choice item (like?) or rely on a single move to damage it such as Shiinotic, but makes Drakloak less effective in most matchups due to sacrificing vital coverage. Eviolite is preferred in order to increase Drakloak's longevity as much as possible and let its Substitute survive hits from weaker Pokemon like Roselia. Leftovers can be effective on sets with Disable in order to allow for the creation of more Substitutes throughout the battle, but leaves Drakloak very frail. A Timid nature with maximum speed investment is preferred in order to outspeed the likes of Basculin, and maximum Special Attack investment is used in order to supplement Drakloak's otherwise awful offensive presence. (fluff, useless. nuke it) Infiltrator is Drakloak's most useful ability in most matchups, allowing it to vitally ignore Substitutes set up by the likes of Eiscue (i'd rather have you mention grassvally and np gourgeist. change this) as well as the rarer dual screens and Aurora Veil.

Drakloak's utility-focused playstyle gives it a strong role on more balanced teams, where its Speed tier is greatly appreciated. (it fits well on more offensive teams too, as its solid speed tier + typing makes it a potent offensive check to like 50% of the tier) Drakloak benefits heavily from Toxic Spikes support, as they punish otherwise safe switches (like?) and make Hex immediately threatening to any grounded target. Mareanie and Roselia are notable setters of the hazard and fit well on balanced teams as defensive pivots, as well as being the best removers of the hazard which otherwise greatly cuts into Drakloak's longevity. As Drakloak can be pressured heavily by Dark-types like Pawniard and Linoone-G, answers to these Pokemon are valuable teammates. Bulky Fighting-types such as Hitmontop (hitmontop rarely runs a defensive set, instead mention it's a potent offensive check) and Throh are usually the best options for this role, with the former providing vital hazard control and the latter providing Circle Throw to deny setup attempts and spread hazard damage and Toxic Spikes poisoning across the opposing team. (drakloak doesnt set tspikes itself, so this is not needed. say that these fighting-types also happen to beat common switchins to drakloak, like type: null and munchlax.) Drakloak's decent list of resistances allows it to check Raichu and Manectric in a pinch, which is appreciated by teammates like Lapras and the aforementioned Mareanie. It isn't a counter to these threats by any means, however, meaning running an additional check like Roselia or Palpitoad is recommended. (it also often has to check other threats, like dubwool) Type: Null can also take these threats on and has good synergy with Drakloak as a pivot, able to disregard Ghost-type attacks and Ice Beams (just say ice-type attacks) from the likes of Lapras (and mr. rime) that target Drakloak due to its immense bulk and bring Drakloak onto the field safely with its slow U-Turn against Pokemon it lures in, most notably Mawile. Running a setup sweeper that can abuse Drakloak's ability to spread Burn and damage across a team in order to set up and break through the opponent's defense more easily, like Silvally formes or Raichu, is a synergistic option. (what do they do in exchange?)
