Oh, sure! Sorry my initial post was so long, haha.I really like this mod concept and I'd look over the submissions but I don't even know what the stat restrictions are. Tagging Hematite (again) so she can clarify. Also this post is reserved for subs.
You know how the base stat total limit is already +100? The two rules I suggested adding are just ways to prevent "cheating" that - lowering a stat you don't need to make the most of your new base stat total while really adding more than 100 points.
The first rule:
If you do choose to lower a stat, at least the same amount that you remove from that stat needs to go into a useless stat (like the less-used attacking stat), minus up to 10.
For example, if your Mega Evolution is a physical attacker, and you lower Defense by 20, at least 10 points (20 - 10) need to go into Special Attack. If your Mega Evolution is a special attacker, and you lower Speed by 40, at least 30 points (40 - 10) need to go into Attack. That puts a hard limit of +110 to "relevant" stats even if you do lower a stat. +100 is still preferred, but +110 is allowed. The second rule:
Only the Defense, Special Defense and Speed stats can be lowered. You cannot lower Attack or Special Attack, even if you put it into the other attacking stat like the above rule states.
The reason it has to be those stats is because they affect the Pokémon no matter what moves you choose to run. You can choose not to run a physical move, and then it doesn't matter that your Attack goes down; you can choose not to run a special move, and then it doesn't matter that your Special Attack goes down; but it always matters somehow if one of those three stats goes down. But you don't really need to remember that that's the reason if it doesn't make sense to you - just know that those are the only three stats that can go down!
There can be exceptions to these rules, but those exceptions will be announced up front as part of a slate.
For example, when M4A is slating Butterfree, whoever announces the slate might say that it's allowed to break these rules and come up with a more lenient restriction (like "you're allowed to lower Attack on this slate" and/or "this time, you can optimize by up to 30 points, not 10 like usual").
However, if it's not stated up front when the slate is made, you can't break those rules or ask for an exception for your own submission.
