Tori Amos - Winter

This is one of the best songs she ever did. Little Earthquakes is one of the best albums ever written and this is the best song.

Sufjan Stevens - Casmir Pulaski Day

just a really beautiful song. my friend threw it on an xmas mix for me and it really speaks to me espeically since ive never listened to soof before
8+/10

Clannad - Harry's Game

I spent three years trying to figure out the name of this track until recently a really good friend of mine was listening to it. Funny thing: I listened to the band that composed it before finding out...

Anyway, it's rather short I wish it was longer... Being a Clannad it's instantly very celtic influenced. Throughout the track you mostly hear a choir singing "Fol lol the doh fol the day, Fol the doh fol the day" with Moya, Enya's sister, taking a lead role.

It's very sad and soothing...

Why? - Crushed Bones

Yoni Wolf doesn't really sing, he kind of speaks his lyrics in a louder-than-usual voice. But fuck how can you go wrong with lyrics like:

it's a wooden coaster
with a medium hill height mean,
high hill to flat ground ratio
you know

Every time this song goes into the syncopated section of the verse I get shivers!

me and foreys in navy blue hoodies and khakis, as was the style that year

why? - waterfalls

your face never forgets a cry is one of the most fucking astonishing lyrics i have ever heard but i cant quite put my finger on why

The Sunshine Fix - Age of the Sun

Pretty, though I don't like it as much as I thought I would when I got a copy of the album :(

McFly - Umbrella(remix)

That is no joke, it's a faster and more heavier version than Rihanna's version.

Why am I sharing the most retarded songs out there, better yet, why am I listening to them?

np: Giants In The Ocean - Sky Eats Airplane

I was trying to find something that compared favorably to Genghis Tron (or just some good electronicore), and this is what I ended up with. It's a little less electronica than Ghenghis Tron is but not so much as to where you can't see the similarities between the two. It seems a little bit less 'refined' to me, too. I would recommend their entire album Everythng Perfect On the Wrong Day] if this is something you'd be into.

8.5/10 as a whole

Infected Mushroom - I Wish

Yes. One song I haven't ruined by overlistening to it. Simple lyrics and quite atmospheric.

A Silver Mt. Zion – Could've Moved Mountains

My favourite ASMZ album, but not the best song. This one is a little boring actually.

Crystal Castles - Alice Practice

videogame sounds blended expertly with a heavy electronic beat and powerful female vocals (they seem slightly... synthesised). one of my favourite cc songs!

A Silver Mt. Zion – Could've Moved Mountains

My favourite ASMZ album, but not the best song. This one is a little boring actually.

Silence it's on of the best songs on that album tied with C'mon Come On (loose An Endless Loging). I feel like listening to this album now...

A Silver Mt Zion - Sisters! Brothers! Small Boats Of Fire Are Falling From The Sky

"Intro" track spanning 9 minutes, actually turning it into the second largest song. Even though they have separated their sound from GY!BE, this song isn't an example of it. With it's use o violins, cellos and piano it reminds me of the outro of some GY!BE tracks. Still it's a pretty good track that gives you a good feeling for the rest of the album.

Lamb of God - Descending

The rhythm section of this band is BRUTAL. Adler's drums fucking rule. I love the rhythm guitar as well, really nice chugging riffs, very cool stuff. The vocals will be hit-or-miss for most people, as it's a thrash/death metal yawp. However, this band is worth it for the sick and pummeling rhythm section alone.

Mae - Suspension

Eh, got this album for birthday, and it's okay. It reminds me too much of Boys Like Girls and all that shitty mainstream rock.

Not saying it's horrible, not saying it's good either. Just... Eh.

6/10

Samiam - Do you want to be loved

This song came on shuffle and magically put me into an incredible mood. It isn't even a happy song or anything. Samiam is very good.

I really like that song, and agreeing it makes a great intro. That album is my fav because it sounds so creepy!! I especially like the use of the gargling baby at the start of "This Gentle Hearts Like Shot Bird's Fallen.". That song as a whole I love as it is so dark, mysterious, and the whining violins add to the atmospheric feel so much.
LOOOOVE!

np: Lurker of Chalice – Fastened to the Five Points

Architecture In Helsinki - Fumble

The band gets huge props for their name and their music is easy to listen to. I like. <:

Derek and the Dominos - Keep on Growing

Also just mentioning post rock has NOT grown on me after I used to love it so much...it just doesn't sound the same anymore. Not saying Explosions in the Sky isn't still one of my favorite bands! You guys should listen to Moving Mountains if you kinda like post rock buy kindaaa like vocals. I enjoyed ehh nevermind I don't remember the name of the album..
