Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Everyone knows this song, and it's a pretty good song. Not my favorite from them (Paranoid), but I like it.

Katatonia - The Future of Speech

Katatonia have a penchant for weaving good melodies into songs, remaining downkey but always they have that touch of accessibility and memorability. Despite the melancholy atmosphere they've always had choruses and vocals that stick, especially on their later work.

I've been really digging this as of late.

Rasputina - Diamond Mind

Humorous short song very vocal based. For once I pay attention to the lyrics seeing they ARE the point of this track. These are just a rant of a woman that wants to convince her husband to buy her a diamond.

What other way can you make four months of your measely salary last a lifetime
And what other thing have I ever asked you for
Besides...
The ability to read my mind
And I didn't get that either, Yet

Massive Attack - Teardrop

This is really great trip-hop. I randomly downloaded it but I'm really enjoying Mezzanine so far. Didn't expect that. Guess there's good in non-rock music after all, eh?

City And Colour - Like Knives

I really enjoy listening to this guy, he has such a unique and emotional style. I wish there were more singer-songwriters with his sound. Either way hes coming out with a new album this February so it should be good.

Streetlight Manifesto - Watch It Crash

I quickly went from asking 'who the hell are these guys' to them being one of my favorite bands ever. The whole blend of a big brass sound with punk rock-esque lyrics and your traditional guitar and drums stuff is just genius This song just emphasizes everything awesome about Streetlight.

....I'm also going to use this post to ask a question about something that's been bothering me for a while: Is posting like, an entire playlist, or something like pretty much everything you've listened to in the past hour or so 'frowned upon' in this thread? In another forum I visit that has a thread similar to this, that's pretty much the norm, and I've never really seen it here. Now of course with the 'actually talk about what your posting' rule in this specific thread, posts would get kinda long if people were to start doing that regularly, but is is that kind of thing cool with you guys or not?

You should try listening to Catch 22. IMO they are much better; they have a more raw tone, and the members are pretty much those of Streetlight Manifesto...You'll enjoy them.

Catch 22 - "Supernothing"

All you need to do is listen to the intro...After that, you'll get hooked to the song

EDIT: wtf? hehe dp

Mindless Self Indulgences ~ Shut me up

lol, the song is addicting to listen to... Really catchy, awesome beat. Aaahhh I keep listening to it.

Eminem – Lose Yourself

I think this is a pretty ok song.
loling

MindSlicer, Catch 22 is excellent!! <3 WHEN THEY COME FOR ME I'LL BE SITTING AT MY DESK WITH A GUN IN MY HAND WEARING A BULLET PROOF VEST SINGING MY MY MY HOW THE TIME DOES FLY WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE GONNA DIE BY THE END OF THE NIGHT

I am listening to ABBA - King Kong Song. It is a fucking PROGRESSIVE song. I cannot stop listening, because it is the strangest thing ever - one of the most blithely poppy bands ever making a total progressive song!! (of course, by making I mean made, since this is from 1974 on their first album lol)

omg ABBA

I love you.

The Decemberists - Clementine

I only downloaded them in hopes for some music that I could listen to while wrapping Christmas presents and somehow, they are quite suitable for that. After all, their music is slow and creates a peaceful Christmas feeling.

Danzig - 7th House

Basically heavy industrial era Danzig with screamed vocals.. honestly I'm not sure why I'm listening to it with the entire rest of Danzig's albums being infinitely superior to this one.

man Danzig was awesome but what an asshole

lol Wishy, ABBA is pretty good, although a lot of their songs are way too simple, but as I work through their discography, I also found a second progressive song
now playing: ABBA - I'm a Marionette

SONGS MUST BE COMPLICATED TO BE GOOD

Iron Maiden - Total Eclipse

Bonus track on Number of the Beast. It should've replaced Gangland...

into Hallowed be thy Name.

Which is probably one of the best metal songs of all time.

Hallowed Be Thy Name is definitely one of my favourite metal songs

np: murder by death - sometimes the line walks you

chaos put me onto this great band that i've never heard of before, atmospheric alternative folk indie. i've only heard a few of their songs but i've liked all i've heard so far; think i'll be buying this album as soon as i get some money!

Gangland is also good! But wait...is Total Eclipse really not on any album? Because that is a pretty awesome song.

It's on Number of the Beast reissues iirc... I don't actually own a copy of NotB yet so I'm not sure.

Porcupine Tree - Blackest Eyes

gg

np: Chromeo - Fancy Footwork

honestly this band is so sexy i get all hot just listening to them. i dont mean sexy as in just 'really good music' but actually sexy. they are sexy jazzy electro funk and i love it.
