Hawlucha @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat
- Protect

In a metagame where Rillaboom is the undisputed best, Hawlucha stands out as both an easily enabled wincon and a strong response to the many fast offensive teams currently trending. Though Hawlucha's base 92 Attack may seem unimpressive, it's made up for by its high-Base Power STAB moves that boast essentially unresisted coverage; its Unburden-boosted Speed, meanwhile, allows it to blanket check everything in most matchups and allows it to conveniently run an Adamant nature and still outrun opposing Mew even in Tailwind. Hawlucha in particular can serve well in offensively checking Urshifu-R as well as opposing sand teams, as it easily outruns and destroys Excadrill and Tyranitar; against slower, bulky teams, though, it'd need a Swords Dance boost to be a difference maker. Fake Out partners are recommended to give Hawlucha the space it needs to wreak havoc; Rillaboom is mandatory, as Hawlucha wants to consume its Grassy Seed, while Zeraora and Blastoise work as well.

I don't have a ton of experience with Hawlucha but everything here looks solid and I can't think of anything that needs to be added. The only thing I'm not quite positive on is highlighting the Urshifu matchup since it crits through you with Surging Strikes, but if it's made clear that this is entirely an offensive check then that's fine.

Though Hawlucha's base 92 Attack may seem unimpressive, it's made up for by its high-Base (AH) Power STAB moves that boast essentially unresisted coverage; its Unburden-boosted Speed, meanwhile, allows it to blanket check everything in most match-ups matchups and allows it to conveniently run an Adamant (RC) nature and which still outruns outrun opposing Mew even in Tailwind. Hawlucha in particular can serve well in offensively checking Urshifu-R (?) as well as opposing sand teams, (AC) as it easily outruns and destroys Excadrill and Tyranitar; against slower, bulky teams, though, it'd need a Swords Dance boost to go online. (go to town? not sure what you mean here but does not feel idiomatically correct) Fake Out partners are recommended to give Hawlucha the space it needs to wreak havoc; Rillaboom is mandatory, (AC) as Hawlucha wants to consume its Grassy Seed, while Zeraora and Blastoise work as well.
