You can't be serious. That's over 80 Kilos, 10 Kilo's more than I weigh!

IMO weight should be around 60 Kg max (130 lbs) Maybe a bit more. No (current) bug that looks like it can fly / is part flying type makes it over 90 lbs. Scyther looks like it could theoreticly fly and it weighs 123 lbs. So I think 130 lbs is reasonable for something that actually has to be light enough to fly but is also taller

Also, there are NO bug types that can learn Fly.

And something else for flight, what if we said that it could fly by somehow cooling the air above / below it. Wait, no, that would only cause a down draft xD

The heaviest flying bug I guess is Yanmega at 6'3" at 113.5 lbs.

At our guy's current height, I'm guessing 93.4 lbs seems reasonable? Though he is one tough bugger for carrying about a third of his bodyweight around when it's hungry time.

I missed Yanmega, wow thats a huge Dragonfly 0.O

The dex entry I made says that he disects it into pieces, which is reasonable ant behaviour. We could always use that to explain it carrying Snorunt etc. As i've said, I think 130 lbs is reasonable.

Icicrita (Icicle+Apocrita)
Myrmefrost (Myrmecology=study of ants+Frost)
Invictice (Solenopsis invicta=fire ant+Ice)
Exofrost (exoskeleton+Frost)
Isect/Icect (Ice+Insect)
Antfrigerator (Ant+Refrigerator)
Glaciant (Glacier+Ant)

some ideas.

Insice (Insect+cis=to cut+ice)
Snosect (Snow+Insect)
Antarctick (Antarctica+Tick)
Arctick (Arctic+Tick)
Arthrime (Arthropod+Rime)
Aphice (Aphid+Ice)

more ideas.

I didn't really get any feedback on these. I bolded the ones I really like. And to add some substance to this post, ~125 lbs seems reasonable for this guy.

I don't really like using the word "Ice" in the name. Something about it just isn't subtle enough for my taste. And the only pokemon with "Ice" in it's name is Regice, and that's only because it's part of a trio that all have their type in their name.

EDIT: Arctick got some lol's...

Lol, bits 'o Snorunt. I'll call them "Snorios"

Anywho, I liked those ones as well, looks like there may be a poll in the future for preferred names.

What position is the second pose in? Is it an "at rest" or is your done one the "at rest" and you're doing the action shot?

It's really hard to say, it's the less dynamic of the two, but is like half of the action packed into it.
But I guess it would be the "rest" pose.

So I just started looking this create a pokemon and it's awesome. If someone could make a post somewhere or PM me as many of the sprites so far, that would be awesome I would like to do some sig work with them.

Ok, finally finished the second pose, and I'm very happy with it. :)

I'm gonna do the animation in a bit here.

Also, someone remarked saying the party sprite looked like it had buck teeth, so I fixed it.

EDIT: Here's the animation.I really wanted to use this as my avatar, but it's .7 kb over the limit. So close, argh!

Now we just need some showoff to make a 3D model of it so we can see what it'd look like in PBR if it existed.

I love how off-topic this poll got. We were meant to be discussing a move for it but ended up practically finishing the thing.

lol, I can't actually think of anything else we haven't discussed. We've even gone as far as discussing it's weight and where this Poke would live if it were real o.O

You know what'd be cool? If someone with some video editing skills made some kind of doctored movie showing this thing in action, you know, editing out a wild Pokemon and sticking this guy in.

I don't think we have a back sprite yet, and we haven't decided a shiny colour yet, and I think the final name decision should be left to the guy who originally made it.

Other than that, I think we've finished it.

I can just hear David Attenburough's (sp) voice now:

"I am here in the most frigid environment anywhere in the world. The reason I am enduring these sub-zero conditions is the chance to catch a glimpse of the extreeeemly rare Vespoidea Formicidae. Otherwise known as the Aufylus.

The Auflyus blends in perfectly with the frigid environment. It's crystaline structure allows it to become almost... invisible... against the icey backdrop. This allows it to sneak up virtually un-noticed on unsuspecting Delibirds, it's natural enemy.

Here we see a Aufylus about to pounce on the unsuspecting avian. But this will be no easy task for the juveniel Aufylus. The Delibird has developed an extreem defence mechanism - Despite it's four times rock weakness it has the ability to spin it's body at high speeds, clearing the field of entry hazzards, leech seeds and moves such as "wrap". But that's not the only trick Delibird has up it's sleeve. As a last resort the Delibird will expose itself and present the Aufylus with a... "present" Normally, this present will contain enough crystalised sugar to sustain an entire colony of Aufylus for a week. This is often enough to convince the Aufylus to leave the Delibird alone.

But on extreemly rare occasions the "present" has been known to explode in the Aufylus's face. This causes it to become enraged, and it will then proceed to tear the unfortunate Delibird limb from limb. The Aufylus then calls other members of it's colony to help transport the Delibird carcass to it's nest, often as many as 30 miles away."

lol best documentary EVER. I actually meant a gameplay video but I guess this works too.

I'm still looking for opinions on my idea for a name, Aufylus (Pronounciation; Or-fee-lus)

Aufeis - Layered ice that forms in arctic and subarctic stream valleys
Dorylus - The genus Ants belongs to.

Which leads onto all kinds of things about it living in Antartica, eating Delibirds and a lot of other random discussion.

I think ice body can also be an option over compundeyes as ability.
This is probably the best creation I've seen so far.

@ Koa: those sprites are awsome O.O

Some more move suggestions:

Physical:

Icicle Drill
Ice
BP: 80
Side effect: Freeze (20%), High critical hit ratio
Ingame desc: The user attacks the foe with a drill-like spinning icicle. May cause freezing and a critical hit.

Special:

Frost Shot
Ice
BP: 80
Side effect: Freeze (25%)
Ingame desc: The user fires a shot of pure coldness at the opponent. It may freeze the target.

Support:

Ice Rink
Ice
Effect: For 5 turns, the speed of all ice-types is raised by 1 stage, and for all non-ice types, lowered by 1 stage. Doesn't affect Flying-types or those with Levitate, unless Gravity is in effect. Magnet Rise also creates immunity to this.
Ingame desc: The user freezes the entire field over for 5 turns, increasing the speed of all ice-types.

Slow Freeze
Ice
Effect: At the end of the next turn, the target is frozen. Works much like Yawn.
Ingame desc: The user slowly chills the opponent from the inside out, causing it to become frozen the next turn.

Hey, it's clearly my name. Now that we've cleared that up. KoA's action sprite is amazing. Please find a way to make it your avatar?

The rest of the discussion is fun to read and all, but the movepool still needs deciding. The Pokedex entries we are suggesting obviously support the use of Attack Order, Heal Order, and Defense Order. Carrying away prey = Heal Order.

And to Cooper, decision on inclusion of a special move?
