NOC 9p Matrix 6 Game Thread [GAME OVER]

1. Thunder~BALLZ
I'm feeling 60% town on thunder, saying his thought process out loud is more likely to be a town play imo, idt a maf would try to post completely unwaranted content.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

AYAYAYA part of me feels like Panic Station is town but part of me feels like I'm missing something here thonk

2. Whydon : Inno
imo whydon's currently acting like more of a town that doesn't give enough of a shit about the game, as i said before, maybe because he didn't get an interesting role.

4. Duskfall98 : Inno, i think
Kind of feeling like Dusk is more of a town here, as a few others have pointed out, bringing out a possible winning strategy in solving the roles is something he wouldn't be inclined to do as a maf.

5. CaffeineBoost : Inno
Talked a bit earlier about why i thought he was inno

Oh on the caffeine inno, gotcha

Idk, don't see him putting himself out in the open and voting/removing vote immediately / joking around if he was maf, unless that's how he plays and I'm just unaware.

6. Panic Station : Inno
I'm feeling much better about Panic now that he's started talking, calling me out on things I've said earlier definitely means he's invested in the game, which isn't necessarely a scum/unscum thing to do, but going after me in the way he did makes me think he's most likely innocent.

8. M2H Former : Maf
Process of elimination, i don't believe a Schia/OM pair is possible here, so i think it's most likely a Former / one of the two pair.

9. M24

kinda sus imo

3. OM
7. Schiavetto

I think the other maf is probably one of these two, they've been after each other for a good part of the game, so I don't necessarely think it's possible for them to be a pair here.

M24 probably irrelevant observation but because from your town perspective its 2/8 are mafia, everyone starts at default 75 percent town, so 60 percent is actually a decent scum lean not town. I know obviously tbz is not going to be 60 percent for you if you find him townie, but just a theory point I think is worthwhile to point out. (Sorry if it is a bit pedantic).

M24 scumlean - When he gave a take, he did so easily. When it came under scrutiny, he became self conscious about it.
Do you think being afraid of looking scummy, is in fact scummy? Especially for a new player?
This is mostly what I wanted to get into with OM since he's voting there (and now Panic too ig) but I'm glad it's coming up now. I think there are some decent arguments for M24 being scum, but I also think a good deal of care needs to be put into discerning new+messy from new+scummy. I dislike how readily OM slapped his vote there (citing wishy-washiness) without, imo, doing anything to make heads or tails of the slot--like I mentioned earlier, it felt like he was content to just vote the newbie without doing anything to make him legible. He starts digging in later posts, but not without some nagging prompting--which irked me & still irks me. I'm loath to say M24 deserves no suspicion whatsoever (quite the contrary, he's done some weird shit this game), but I'm disappointed in how that's been handled, for the most part.

In M24's first game, their 8ball game (town), I think they did a *much* better job in terms of being forthright. First example that comes to mind is their earlygame push on hal, who pushed back pretty quickly, but M24 handled the pressure there p well imo--he eased back his read a bit, but I never got the sense he was apologizing for it or trying to cover his bases. Here, though, there's a fair bit of - like Panic said - self-consciousness coming through. OM called out the handwringing, which is neat!, but again, I think if that case is being made, there needs to be an attempt to distinguish it from, y'know, newbies being new.

Going back to the 8ball game, it also seems to me like M24 needed a lot less prodding to share their thoughts. They gave the hal read unprompted, commented pretty readily on things of actual substance (unexpected wagon movement, possible partnerships, etc.), and asked way more questions. Most of anything meaningful that's come from M24 this game exists because they were directly asked to provide it.

There's also a lack of elaboration on their part that idt is *strictly* ai (again, looking at their first game), but looks worse in light of the other things. There's probably an excuse that could be made along the lines of thread activity/limited time to engage with certain things. Example that comes to mind is when I asked for thoughts on Tommy & Panic, the only two players this game that they'd had some prior experience with, and the response was basically "I don't remember. Tommy talked a lot. I'd have to check logs."
They never did
I don't think it's out of the ordinary for new players to be inconsistent, but it does strike me as odd that after a first game where they were specifically praised for exuding towniness, their play is so different.

I had/have other thoughts, but in the interest of spending less time organizing my thoughts into something resembling sense and spending more time keeping up with the thread I'm going to click "Post reply" and follow up as things move along.
I need to hear from OM before I do anything at all with my vote.
I think 460 is being too generous toward M24, though I agree that OM has fewer partners here than most.
Post reply.

I haaaave been a bit busy today, but not going to use that as an excuse.

I feel like the difference between my play right now, and my play 3 months ago is me trying to think a bit more critically when i post, (maybe a bit less at the start of the game). I know thinking too much about what you're posting can be read as being scummy, but I genuinely want to try posting a bit more informed posts, and not posting things I'll immediately double back on.

Also that was a good post from schia that made me question my read but applying meta to a new player with a 6 month break between the two games doesn't work for me.

M24 has a lot reads/leans considering the content.
I still think PS is a bit sus due to the complaining.

Lmk when we get to the American system (two parties running for president of D1 deaths)
