[OVERVIEW]
Palossand is an important defensive centerpiece in PU thanks to its good typing, bulk, access to Stealth Rock, and ability to check otherwise dangerous Pokemon like Archeops, physical Toxicroak, and Passimian. It can be very difficult to take down over the course of a game thanks to Shore Up, an excellent reliable recovery move that is often boosted in potency by the common presence that is Gigalith's sand. Its solid STAB coverage and decent Special Attack also make it somewhat difficult to switch into, reducing its passivity. Palossand can struggle somewhat with threats that its typing would otherwise allow it to check, though, like Braviary because it can't damage it, Silvally-Steel because of Toxic, and Heliolisk because of Grass Knot or Surf. It can also be a major momentum drain due to how passive it can be, especially against bulkier teams.

[SET COMMENTS]
Palossand's great bulk makes it possible for it to come in on foes like Togedemaru, Gigalith, Sawk, and Regirock, giving it ample opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Colbur Berry provides Palossand with a buffer against Knock Off from the Fighting-types it checks and can also let it check Choice Band Sneasel locked into Knock Off. 48 Special Defense EVs allow Palossand to survive Grass Knot from Heliolisk after damage from one layer of Spikes. Checks to strong special attackers like Heliolisk and Ribombee are recommended, since Palossand can't handle them at all. Silvally-Steel can perform this role while also providing Defog support, which is very helpful, as Palossand can easily be worn down by Spikes damage. Vaporeon has good defensive synergy with Palossand and can provide it with both Wish and Heal Bell support, making it less susceptible to being worn down over the course of a game. It also provides a strong check to Pokemon like Charizard, Sneasel, and Basculin that Palossand struggles with. Lanturn provides similar defensive synergy and can actually check the Electric-types that Palossand struggles with despite its typing. Other good partners include Togedemaru, which can act as a good Heliolisk check, and Heliolisk itself, which can handle opposing Vaporeon and also checks annoyances like Jellicent. Both of these Pokemon appreciate Palossand's ability to check Fighting-types and set up Stealth Rock to wear down their switch-ins.

(not like u'd run both on the same team tho, maybe reword this to say giga being so common helps it) Its solid STAB coverage and decent Special Attack also make it somewhat difficult to switch into, reducing its passivity. Palossand can struggle somewhat with threats that its typing would otherwise allow it to check like Braviary, Toxic Silvally-Steel, and Heliolisk, but it's still a highly useful and very bulky Stealth Rock setter.

Palossand's great bulk makes it possible for it to come in on foes like Togedemaru, Gigalith, Sawk, and Gallade, (u actually lose to gallade; at +2 it 2hkoes u while u dont ohko) giving it ample opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Earth Power and Shadow Ball are good STAB options that threaten Pokemon like Toxicroak and Heliolisk, and Shore Up provides it with strong staying power throughout a game, particularly if it's amped up by sand. (i'd just explain why epower > scorching sands. otherwise it rlly doesnt seem worth mentioning explaining what its stabs moves do) Colbur Berry provides Palossand with a buffer against Knock Off from the Dark-types (fighting-types*) it checks and can also let it check Sneasel locked into Knock Off. 48 SpDef EVs allow Palossand to survive Grass Knot from Heliolisk after damage from one layer of Spikes, and the rest of the spread maximizes Palossand's physical bulk. Checks to strong special attackers like Roserade and Ribombee are recommended since Palossand can't handle them at all. Silvally-Steel can do this while also providing Defog support, which is very helpful as Palossand can easily be worn down by Spikes damage. Vaporeon has good defensive synergy with Palossand and can provide it with both Wish and Heal Bell support, making it less susceptible to being worn down over the course of a game. (i honestly think lanturn is a better partner. it's an electric immunity that actually beats electrics unlike palo) It provides a strong check to Pokemon like Charizard, Sneasel, and Basculin that Palossand struggles with. Other good partners include Togedemaru, which can act as a good Heliolisk check, and Roserade, which can handle opposing Vaporeon and also checks annoyances like Jellicent and Whimsicott. (maybe talk abt mons that appreciate palo checking fighters. u already mentioned rat and that's a good example. sneasel and roserade also work well; u can just include them in that last part)
