I not sure how I feel about these picks personally, but I am no one to challenge the coin. The coin has spoken. We shall listen.
 
Also on the r1 games, I dont really have time to go back over them, but I kinda had a feeling like a lot of them were pretty much just won on matchup rather than in battle? Did anyone else have any thoughts along those lines?

It kinda fits with the high number of Gengars and Zapdos with low Rhydon use.

I think that's just the nature of the meta rn, a lot of games are pretty much done and dusted in the first 3-4 turns depeding on who gets sleep and what mons are left after that. I also think a lot of people brought teams that I'd describe as risky if I'm being generous, straight up bad if not. I don't blame the players bc it's really hard to get creative without accepting weak matchups here and there, but I think things can get better.

I think we can expect Rhydon to mount a bit of a comeback - it's never gonna be the same level as Zapdos or maybe even Cloyster but it's a fairly reliable pick. I also think Gengar is here to stay though, smashes the Jynx matchup and does OK with a second sleeper in the back in most other matchups, punishes everyone who drops EQ on Laxes and Bulls, can also just explode if it doesn't have anything else to do in the match up which means it's never fully deadweight.
