"A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except Tuesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer." The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down, "Why not on Tuesday?" A voice from in the well shouts back, "Because on Tuesday, it's your day in the well."

make well #70
Surprise! After our friend PokeKids2 unfortunately failed to post their Q&A session, I'm taking over The Well #70 as second place finisher. I am quite the attention whore so I'm glad I'm finally getting thrown in. I actually got interviewed 2.5 weeks ago for DOU Player of the Week, but there's no way I'm throwing away this chance to talk more about myself.

Real Life
I'm an 18 year old girl from New Jersey and a current college first year studying Chemical Engineering in Massachusetts. I actually had a complete mental breakdown yesterday and went to bed at 5 PM and ended up sleeping for 16 hours so I'd say school is going well! I'm currently studying from home since all my classes were online, basically all my friends are online, and I missed my dog. I'm a Philadelphia sports fan (mostly Eagles / Phillies / Sixers) but also root for the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA since there's no Philly team. I enjoy watching Anime, watching the Game Show Network (I watched Jeopardy every night!), and honestly hanging out with my friends. Just chilling on Discord and talking to people I've grown to love is always the highlight of my day. I don't really have a lot of hobbies or free time since I'm pretty busy trying not to fail Calc 3 and ghosting all my friends through Chemistry all day :c
Pre-Smogon
I grew up a big Pokemon fan. When I was in elementary school my neighbor gave me a copy of Pokemon SoulSilver and let me play on his DS on the way to and from school. My first starter was Cyndaquil since that's what he told me beat his starter, Totodile. We would go to the cul-de-sac at the end of our street and battle and watch step-by-step videos on how to catch Mewtwo and it was honestly a ton of fun.
I first got involved with Pokemon on the internet when I searched up "How to defeat Red in Pokemon HeartGold" and discovered this video by PurpleRodri. From then, I started watching a lot of Let's Plays and Pokemon became probably my biggest hobbies through Middle School. At the end of Middle School when I was 13 I found this video by Tama Hero (formerly Tamashii Hiroka) which introduced me to Pokemon Showdown. Another one of her videos introduced me to the site PokeAmino - which was basically an online Pokemon community where you could create and share posts - which I joined on May 23rd 2015 and accumulated 3,374 followers during the ~2 years I spent there. I actually lied about my age when I joined and said I was 13 instead of 15 haha. I played a ton of draft leagues (I went 43-28 in matches according to my records on my profile) and eventually discovered Smogon in mid 2016.
Smogon
I played a bunch of random ladders on PS! and eventually discovered Smogon Doubles was my favorite because I was able to easily climb the ladder using the legendary Mega Kangaskhan / Breloom / Suicune / Heatran / Latios / Landorus-T sample. I discovered the forums, got integrated into the community, and got invited to the then-private DOU Discord by [redacted]. Doubles was the first community I felt a part of and I'm still active there to this day.
I was active on Smogon from around mid 2016 - early 2017. I dipped slightly after SM dropped because pretty girls started snapchatting me and I felt I was too cool for Smogon (narrator: she was not). I came back this year during the summer because I was really bored with COVID and I'm honestly really glad I did! I caught up with a lot of people and made a ton of new friends, but more importantly, it let me discover that I'm transgender. Transitioning has made me really happy so I'm super thankful for Smogon for giving me the opportunity. Today, I hang out in the DOU / Smogon / Battle Spot / LGBTQ+ discords as well as a lot of private servers with my friends. I basically always have Discord open except when I'm going goddess mode for school so feel free to reach out at emma ❤#4133. I'm also hosting Doubles Seasonals, LGPE Global Championships, and running the RBY SPL Discussion thread which has made me feel really involved in the community despite being pretty bad at the game.
Feel free to ask me anything - about my transitioning process, my favorite foods, anything goes. Thanks for having me in the Well
P.S. - I would appreciate if you could drop a like on my Doubles Premier League Signup since I want the most likes in the thread uwu
