Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 216 SpD / 40 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rest
- Crunch
- Toxic
Tyranitar is the sand setter for this team plain and simple. It can deal with ghost types with crunch that threaten slow bro and resists fire types that threaten excadrill and corviknight. Stealth rock is the standard hazard set by Tyranitar. Rest is for recovery and crunch is to deal with ghost types threatening slowbro. Toxic is to deal with walls that threaten to wall out the sweepers and attackers of the team. Smooth rock is used to keep sand up longer to assist the team. Tyranitar is focused on utillity and helping the team above all other things.
Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide
Excadrill is a physical wallbreaker and sweeper that can outspeed most opponents during sand rush and ohko them. The goal is to switch into a special wall like clefable or blissey during sand, and while they switch out set up with swords dance and sweep. It can also be used after slowbro switches to it after a teleport to get it in safely. Its a basic physical attacker and life orb adds a bit more punch to an already more powerful pokemon. Excadrill deals with the bulky flying types that are common the tier that other pokemon struggle with with rock slide and iron head deals with fairy types.
Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Body Press
Corviknight is a real pain for this team, even if a pokemon such as dracozolt is switched in, corviknight can just switch out after a free defog during the switch. Magnezone is necessary to deal with this excadrill counter and bane of the team. Magnet pull is to keep corviknight in so it can be ko'd. Magnezone also can magnet pull ferrothorn, who also gives the team trouble and deal with it with body press. Flash cannon is to deal with fairies and volt switch is to switch out of a sticky situation.
Dracozolt @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 120 Atk / 136 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Bolt Beak
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
Dracozolt is another sweeper for the team but unlike excadrill, is mixed and very versatile. It can deal with heatran as well which is a plus. Heatran can get baited by one of the steel types to use magmas storm while it switches into dracozolt and eats and is threatened with an OHKO earthquake. Bolt beak is to deal with many of the water types in the tier. It can wallbreak Tox, slowbro and slowking. Generally pokemon that give the rest of my team trouble. Draco meteor is just an all around good dragon move and fire blast deals with steel and grass types.
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- U-turn
- Brave Bird
Corviknight is a bulky pivot that uses defog to remove entry hazards and wall out many threats. This set is pretty standard at this point, but defog is necessary to help the sweepers and the rest of the team stay at high health. Roost is for self recovery to stall out many of the threats in the tier and U- turn is used to pivot. Brave bird is to threaten rillaboom, who threatens slowbro. Corviknight also uses pressure to pp stall out stealth rocks with defog and the relaxed nature is used to have a lower priority pivot so corviknight can take a hit and let the sweepers in safely.
Slowbro @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 228 Def / 28 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Teleport
- Future Sight
- Slack Off
- Ice Beam
Finally, Slowbro is the last pokemon. Slowbro adds more punch to dracozolt's attacks with future sight and slack off is it's form of recovery. Regenerator is a great abillity allowing it to heal damage and be even more of an annoying pokemon than it already is. Slowbro also can check scaft landorus T by walling out it's physical attacks and hitting back with an 87.5% OHKO ice beam. The goal is to lock landorus in to one move like earthquake and switch in so it can't use U-turn.
Ok, that's the team. I appreciate any and all constructive criticism and will keep it in mind. :)
