I can't be the only one who would like a more fleshed-out Pokémon RPG in the vein of Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest (I know Legends Arceus is coming out, but just bear with me).

And who better to satisfy that wish than the kings of JRPGs themselves? Hell, Square Enix made Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, so if anyone knows how to make a good JRPG, it's them.

So what do you think?
 
i would not, because JRPGs are bad and Final Fantasy is bad

To be honest, I haven't really enjoyed the Square JRPGs I've played. These are for gameplay preferences, so I suppose I could allow it on the condition that the mechanics are consistent with the rest of the pokemon series. That would also include keeping bosses to a 6v6 format, my problems with their design show up the most in boss fights.

Monolith, on the other hand, I feel like I could trust with the gameplay as well as the story and worldbuilding.

Okay, first off, I doubt Square Enix would be in charge of creating any brand new Pokémon, that's Game Freak's job.
Second, what's wrong with Mina exactly? Their design is a bit too close to Snivy for my liking, but I wouldn't call them an abomination.

what the hell were they thinking with akshan. yea my league games totally need Another invisible, mobile assassin. original. totally. they are just adding overwatch chars at this point. so i hope riot gets their act together for vex.
