Time zones, my cruelest enemy....

Well in that case I think it might be around 9 est. A clean 24 hours since when this little escapade began.

Hisuian Voltorb's website page:
A Striking Resemblance to Poké Balls in Hisui
This enigmatic Pokémon has a glossy, spherical body. It looks very similar to the Poké Balls of the Hisui region, what with the wood-grain-like makeup of its body's surface and the hole on the top of its head.

There seem to be countless seeds packed inside Hisuian Voltorb. Occasionally, it spouts these seeds out of the hole in its head. However, no one knows exactly what it’s like inside the Pokémon’s body, because inside the hole, it’s pitch-dark. It’s impossible to see anything even if one peers into the hole.
Excitement Leads to an Instant Electrical Discharge
This Pokémon is always in high spirits and has a friendly personality. However, it discharges its stored electricity all at once from the hole in its head when it gets excited, so it frequently shocks humans and Pokémon in its vicinity. Even the slightest provocation can set off such a discharge, so in human settlements, Hisuian Voltorb is considered a nuisance. Tales of people temporarily plugging the hole on Hisuian Voltorb’s head and kicking it out of settlements are not entirely uncommon.

That sure came out of nowhere LMAO. Considering when Sword and Shield and Legends reveals have taken place usually around 9 AM EST it's 6 PM here rn in Maryland I'm just like wow that sure is a shock.

Though I suppose the Ball Guy stuff spelled it out but hey that's still kind of out of nowhere lmao. But Voltorb being Electric/Grass is fun and hopefully it and Hisuian Electrode will be fun to use. Voltorb was honestly one of the last Pokemon I expected to see a regional form but hey, you never know what might happen with stuff like this haha.

wow between people running Zorua out of its homeland and now Hisuians literally PLUGGING VOLTORBS (which may cause them discomfort!) and KICKING THEM OUT OF THEIR HOMES, I'm starting to think that maybe it isn't the Pokemon of ancient times that were terrifying creatures, but the humans...

I mean Hisuian Voltorb is so friendly! just a little guy, Hisuians really gonna have beef with a little guy?

theory: that hole on the top of voltorb’s head is a blowhole and an evolutionary remnant from its closest living relative of wailmer. as such, it will use water spout.

Anyway, Electric / Grass is pretty interesting typing and might actually push something like electrode into being an interesting Pokémon competitively. Electrode’s speed is its one interesting trait that has let it see the barest of usage over the years. Now we have that same Pokémon likely to get a grass-type status movepool and actual coverage with two STAB options? What a big win. If Hisuin Electrode is more Alola-styled and not one of those Galar branching evos, I could very well see it used on rain teams in flat doubles environments like battle stadium / spot / vgc for thunder spamming type diversity and speed control.

So the first entry seems to heavily imply that it has access to Bullet Seed and/or Seed Bomb. This could indicate that voltorb-H is more physical leaning, and thus might actually be capable of doing damage with Explosion.
Ok but

>Electrode speed
>Likely will retain Soundproof

There's a good chance Game Freak has made the most painful SubSeeder since Breloom

This raises some serious questions I was not prepared to contemplate.
Where do the seeds come from?
Is modern Voltorb also full of seeds?
Has Voltorb been a vegetable all along??

So, does this mean the riddler is trustworthy, or no?

Hisuian Voltorb is so cute, what a fun little guy. I like how they managed to turn Voltorb, one of the lazier designs (although I don't mind it) into something pretty cool. I wonder what H-Electrode will look like, considering I actually like Electrode

I just refreshed myself on the leaks/riddles and
why does everyone think the metal slug is Goodra? Slugma needs some loving too!
Khu (the guy who is responsible for sharing the riddles with the Western audience) outright confirmed that the metal slug hint was indeed the Goodra line.

So, does this mean the riddler is trustworthy, or no?
I actually recall there being some Voltorb merch around that caused people to believe that there may be a Hisuian Voltorb, so not exactly. I'm going to wait to see if one of the next reveals is something like Hisuian Lilligant or Hisuian Goodra to fully confirm this.

If anything, this probably deconfirmed the theory that Voltorb is a pokeball possessed by a Haunter. I mean first it's too happy to be possessed by an evil ghost. Second, it no longer has the same eye design as Haunter.
I've never heard this theory before, but I'm tempted to buy into it more than I would've before this. Something about Hisuian Voltorb looks like a wooden puppet to me or toy model of a modern Voltorb. I wouldn't that surprised if Hisuian Voltorb was haunted by something else. (Like the other Electric/Grass, a lawnmower, is... :P)
