I hate that I'm not the only one who thought about it that way

i think anyone that voluntarily signs up to enter the air force or whatever armed forces branch lets you pilot drones for a living should require the most invasive background checks of all time (by an independent third party). i'm talking logs from ISPs, dumps of messaging apps, all that jazz. i recently went down a rabbit hole of what goes behind a drone strike and found countless people talking about how wonderful of a job it would be just sitting in silence with your crosshairs locked on an individual awaiting a potential call. it's like the ultimate peeping tom and i think it is only fair that the same treatment be applied to the individuals wishing to work in such an environment.
