Chile pepper is definately getting my vote if Fire/Grass wins.

(since obviously I couldn't vote for a Sunflora evo that has the exact same role, as that would limit our creativity)

What about this concept for a Grass/Fire: Its a Scarecrow/Jakeolantern. Pumkin head. Cut-out eyes and mouth. Inside the mouth is a small flame, representing the candle you put in a Jakeolanturn. Then it has a slender body, slender arms and legs. Small flames are sprouting around the body and in the center of the body is a flame and a hole. the fire is eating out the pokemon. Idk, I thought that would make a nice Fire/Grass. Too bad i can't draw.

Something like Carnivine, except with fire and a pumpkin head?

More like shiny Cacturne on fire.

Strangely, I found it easier to think of concepts for Fire/Water than Fire/Grass. Namely, a sea creature that shoots oil and ignites it. Makes sense because oil floats on water, so the blazing oil won't be put out by the water.

Yes. Yes you should have.

I think we did the voting for new evo wrong. We should have decided on a role and typing, then when the art contest came around artists would have the option of designing an evo or a new Pokemon. Then we vote on that.

Deciding on whether we want an evo or not before we even know what kind of Pokemon we were going to make was, in retrospect, a pretty stupid idea.

I voted Electric, because there are so few Electric dual types out there.

(Reposting from the other thread, because I posted this to the wrong one)

We really should avoid using Fire as a type on this pokemon. It's the only type remaining that is weak to Rock. As such, it is weak to Stealth Rock. After all the crap we went through with Syclant and its rock weakness, I'd really like to avoid SR weakness on this next one.

If we choose a Fire type, then we have to combine it with Fighting, Ground, or Steel. We already have Infernape and Heatran. Camerupt blows, but I don't think Fire/Ground can be saved anyway. The weaknesses are just too common.

If Fire was eliminated, we could guarantee this Pokemon isn't weak to SR, which would be a relief, after the struggles with Syclant.

Wow. Thats exactly what I said. No one listened to me. @ Sanjay.

@ DJD: Um, Pokemon are designed to have weaknesses. A X2 weakness to rock isn't going to do a lot of DMG on the switch in. With Syclant, he had a X$ weakness.

I picked Fire, just awesome but since Ghost is also winning then let's do Fire / Ghost and make it look something like Blaziken / Dusknoir lol

I agree, that would have made more sense. I wish we could just say "fuck the vote from before" and call this the first poll that counts.

Being SR weak is not necessarily a bad thing. It can be balancing to things like Mence and Gyara.

EDIT: Trust me, if this ends up being a Ghost/Fight physical sweeper I will bitch to Hyra with no end in sight.

Bah, I had to choose between my 3 favorite types (Ghost, Dark and Grass). Ghost got my vote because we don't really have enough of it yet, and Ghost/Steel just sounds very sexy...just give it levitate and watch it wall everything.

This looks like a fun 2nd time around here.

(Another repost)

I'm not saying you can't make a Rock weakness work. You can. It was just such a constant drone on the Syclant threads. Admitted, Syclant was carrying a 4x weak to Rock, so it was a magnified problem. But, right now, it seems like Stealth Rock is SO overplayed in the metagame. There will be all sorts of SR discussions with this pokemon, no matter what we do. Indirect damage, the ability to spin away indirect damage, the ability to block spin, the ability to counter the spin blockers, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. I'm so fucking sick of it!

Yes, it's a way of life in today's metagame. But, do we really need to invite even more focus on it, by creating a pokemon weak to Rock? Yes, the other spikes come into play -- but they're nowhere near as prevalent as SR.

I love the idea of Fire/Water (although I think of "steam"). Actually I love the idea of lots of Fire combinations. A true Fire/Ghost "Will-o-wisp" (where do you think the move got it's name?). Fire/Dragon -- How can this NOT be done by now? C'mon Fire Dragons are the most common dragon type in all sorts of gaming lore. I could go on.

I just don't want to deal with any more Stealth Rock talk than is absolutely necessary.

IM pretty sure this is how the double type poll will end up:
Fire/Ghost
Fire/Grass
Grass/Ghost

It's not working like that this time. If one type gets over 25% of the vote and no other type has over 25% then that type will be it's first type and we will have a poll for it's second type with the most overdone combinations removed.
