BDSP PU is the fifth and final usage-based tier for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This thread will be the hub for all resources and discussions, including Viability Rankings, suspect tests, quickbans and general conversation about the format as it develops. This format is challenge-only, meaning it does not have a ladder on Pokemon Showdown- you must challenge opponents directly. The tier will hopefully have teambuilder support soon!

Mechanics: Battle mechanics are identical to those in Pokemon Sword and Shield, with the exception of Dynamax being removed. Any items introduced after Generation 4 with in-battle effects, excluding Pixie Plate and Roseli Berry, are unavailable.
Clauses: Smogon-wide Clauses apply.
Available Pokemon: Pokemon #001-493 are available, with the exceptions of Celebi and Deoxys. This does not include Alolan/Galarian formes or Mega Evolutions.

Gonna start this thread off with a few of the biggest players in the first day to keep an eye out for / try out:

Defog Pivot

Pelipper @ Leftovers
Ability: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature

This is the best hazard removal in the tier and a great Pokemon in its own right, provides fantastic slow pivoting to get your big attackers in safely. Easily top tier.

Rocks Pivot

Probopass @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Protect / Iron Defense
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch

We're playing ORAS PU today. Probopass is another slow pivot and a fantastic Stealth Rocker as well as blanket check to a huge number of threats, notably including the devastating Specs Glaceon. I think Sturdy is way better than Magnet Pull unless your team really struggles with opposing Probopass.

Nasty Plot

This thing can just sweep entire teams quite comfortably if they lack speed control or something like bulky Victrebeel/Roselia. Be careful! Specs is also really good, and it's a solid dual screens setter for other sweepers. Possibly the best offensive Pokemon in the tier.

Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Sneasel can use Swords Dance or Choice Band and threaten almost everything not called Mawile really heavily. It's not a very complex Pokemon, but it's definitely a massive threat and probably the second most broken thing after Raichu.

Leafeon @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Extremely dangerous sweeper. Defensive Mawile can't hurt it so the only Steel that actually bothers this set is Wormadam-Trash, and beyond that Leafeon can take on the vast majority of the tier with Leaf Blade and Double-Edge while also having fantastic defensive utility.

Choiced

Monferno @ Choice Scarf / Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

This is the best Choice Scarf user in the tier in my opinion. It acts as a great check to most of the fast threats going around and is a really potent cleaner, and vitally can pack Thunder Punch to make Pelipper think twice. Things that think they can sponge its hits are just getting U-turned on and put into awful positions. Banded is really scary offensively too- I'm not sold on setup variants yet as they struggle to fit everything Monferno needs while not really improving its effectiveness.

Manectric's ability to fry bulky Grass-types gives it reason to be used over Raichu. In many matchups, the opponent's Golem, Camerupt, or Whiscash is all that stands between Manectric and destruction, and the former really doesn't like being Switcheroo'd.

This thing is REALLY STRONG. Any teams on the more balanced end of the spectrum need a dedicated gameplan to not just get iced out by Glaceon, and if it gets in vs offense safely it's probably claiming one.

I Think Piloswine could be cool here as its stabs hit the entire tier neutrally (bar Bronzor ), and its priority Ice Shard hits pretty hard.

While I'm still working on the Role Compendium stuff, I wanted to make some comparisons between BDSP PU and DPP PU, since even though the tiering systems are different, they've actually ended up being somewhat similar looking metas.

The Newcomers
Overall very interested in these. Smeargle, Electrode, Floatzel, Ninjask, and Manectric's additions make me feel like HO will be the go-to playstyle. But there's also lots of cool bulky stuff like Piloswine, Porygon2, Kecleon, and Regice. I think Leafeon and Piloswine might be some of my favorite new mons. Not sure if anything appears outright broken at the moment, but I could see Ninetales, P2, and/or Smeargle becoming potential problems.

Those we lost along the way
Most of these were likely expected. Quagsire, Sableye, Exploud, and Torkoal have received huge buffs since DPP that would make them way too busted here. Bellossom getting QD and Strength Sap makes it more than just a SpDef sponge like usual, Mime's offensive and defensive abilities get boosted with the Fairy-type, and Solrock has had great success in NU. Rhydon is an interesting case as it seems to have swapped places with Golem. They're very similar mons in essence, but apparently Rhydon's slightly better attacking prowess is more appreciated in NU than Golem's slightly better bulk (actually I'm not sure how different the bulk is since Rhydon has more HP). Will likely perform a similar role, but the walls that speed creeped Rhydon now have to run an extra 10 points to beat Golem, which could balance out the damage difference between the two a little bit.

Hidden Abilities
DPP never got to experience the joy of Hidden Abilities until now. Some made mons rise to higher tiers like Quag and Sableye, but other mons still down in PU can be great boosts! Purugly and Wigglytuff become Defog deterrents, Noctowl, Butterfree, Kecleon, and Mawile gain decent power buffs, some NFE/LC mons become viable due to their new abilities like Combusken and Natu, and Pokemon that had previously useless abilities like Gabite and Kadabra can now do something more with it.

Hazard Removal
Defog obviously didn't have its current effect during DPP, and weirdly it feels like our hazard control looks more like ORAS PU. Pelipper seems leagues above the others with its pivoting, but Lumineon and Vibrava can do it too if you don't want a Stealth Rock weak Defogger. Golbat was primarily used offensively in DPP but can now be a bulky pivot with excellent typing, reliable recovery, U-turn, etc.. I think Noctowl will be far better as an offensive sweeper, but hey the option is always there to use it for Defog if you need to, may also patch up Hurricane's bad accuracy.

Initial Problems/Suspects?
Just at a first glance, the tier honestly doesn't seem too terribly unbalanced. Glaceon is very strong with Specs Freeze-Dry, but also really hates the removal of Heavy Duty Boots, allowing it to be worn down easily. It's pretty easy to pressure but very few things can reliably switch into it. Noctowl in my opinion has similar problems to Glaceon, quite literally nothing resists it thanks to Tinted Lens, and while Hurricane is only 70% accurate, it hurts to be hit by it. Charizard is kinda up in the air for me still. Great mon but I haven't played much with it in boots-less metagames. Not getting Defog for some reason also brings it down a notch, though not like it was beating Stealth Rock setters anyway. Huntail is another one that seems broken on paper, the other Shell Smash users don't really have the stats to back up their sweeps but Huntail feels like it could be a little too dangerous. Not too much evidence for Mane, just feel like it could be too strong. Ninetales is a Fire that beats Rocks and Water with Energy Ball and can even beat stuff like opposing Fires Combusken and Monferno with Extrasensory. P2 just seems way too good. Both Download and Analytic make it a huge threat and it has perfect coverage. Finally, Smeargle just seems like one of those mons that ends up enabling too much good stuff. Literally every support move, we've been through it before but never in DPP. It could be okay but I also can imagine a meta where it makes certain things unhealthy.

I want to give a shoutout to Sneasel whom I actually feel like is quite strong for the tier thanks to it's insane speed tier and Ice/Dark STAB combo that's hard to switch in on top of decent coverage that'll make it hard for teams to handle. That's also not including the fact that it can run priority if it wants to via Ice Shard. It's already very good in NU and the lower power level will most likely make it even better here.

I wouldn't reccomend using Golbat defensively. Even max speed variants are slower than all variants of offensive leafeon which is a concerning threat given its bulk and typing, and it is never forcing out rockers like Golem unless you somehow fit Giga Drain on top of roost defog brave bird

CroMuk

Muk @ Black Sludge

Starting with an oldie, but goodie reliable set in CroMuk. And what Pokemon with Magnet Pull just so happens to be here as well? That's right. Muk + Probopass was a dymanic duo in ORAS PU and I have no doubt that the trend will continue here in BDSP. Muk requires little support as it mainly needs Steels and Ground types dealt win to just blow back unprepared teams. Sticky Hold is also a huge boon to prevent it from being trick from the likes of Floatzel and Manectric, so yeah real solid mon for sure mark my words.

SubSD Lickilicky

Ah the old days of SubSD Bouffalant, a fantastic wincon for Bulky Offense teams. But since the bull isn't here, it provides time for Lickilicky to shine by utilizing the same set it's Gen 5 Normal type used to spam. Thanks to its solid natural bulk, it can setup on more passive Pokemon with realitive ease. The current investment lets you outspeed uninvested base 65s like Pelipper so you can Substitute before it can potentially burn with Scald. Even better is the fact that uninvested Pelipper's Scald won't break Lickilicky's Substitute allowing you to use it as setup fodder. This combined with Oblivious means it can't be Intimidated by Mawile either, making it a great option. The option between EQ and Knock Off is moreso team dependant, EQ hits Mawile, Golem and other Normal resists whereas Knock off is nice to hit Misdreavus which would wall you otherwise.

Grumpig solidifies itself as one of the best Psychics available to in PU thanks to solid coverage, and key ability in Thick Fat, making it a reliable check to stuff like Monferno and Glaceon. While this isn't the only set at it's disposal, Specs Grumpig is a solid breaker due to the lack of reliable switchins to Psychic and even Psychic resists has to fear coverage from Shadow Ball and Focus Blast. Combined with other options such as Taunt, Calm Mind, and Thunder Wave to name a few, Grumpig has a lot of good qualities going for it.

Dynamic Punch + Knock Off is ridiculously good especially in conjunction with confusion chance forcing opponents for force it out from its weaker Special Defense stat. Nonetheless, Machoke can function as a tank for balance teams that also appreciate the Knock Off support.

Really excited to see what PU looks like without Eviolite. Sneasel, Pelipper, Monferno, Porygon2, and Floatzel are some of the first things that stick out as sure-fire successes. Sneasel especially, with its speedtier and great dual-STAB seems like it could be problematic. Should be a cool (and very offensive) meta!

Some thoughts on mons that have potential in the tier
- With the only two possibly viable fairy types being Mawile and maybe Togetic. This allows possible room for Offensive Altaria. It can possibly 2HKO or 3HKO most mons with specs Draco Meteor. Possible threats like Probopass and Mawile can be checked or weakened with Magnet Pull Probopass, and rock threats can be taken care of with Wishcash. Lumineon could also be a valuable partner to safely remove stealth rock and tank Ice attacks. Overall excited to see what Altaria can bring to BDSP PU

- With this tier gaining access to NU's steel type of choice, Wormadam T might become a solid blanket check in the tier. With the amazing typing of Bug/Steel, Wormadam T can switch into resisted attacks and set up stealth rocks, dent threats with Gyro Ball, or if given the chance start a potential sweep with Quiver Dance without fearing the chance of being OHKO by unboosted ground attacks. The only issue with it, is the extreme weakness to fire types (which might go rampant with Sun) and lack of good recovery. However it can patch its fire type weakness with a Wishcash (Unless it has Solar Beam). Wormadam T might rival Probopass as a blanket check with these traits in PU (Unless NU takes it back).

- (Edited) Could work in PU, being an ice type that has 3 priorty, one of them being fake out. It also possess good support moves like Perish Song. Dewgong could fill a niche as a fire type check that can dent other switch ins with prediction, as the only resist is water. It will face competition with Laparas as a supportive tank and Walreign as an offensive threat. But it could fill a role as a hybrid of both roles. as it possess aspects of both mons that either one or the other lack (thick fat from Walreign, and priority attacks and support moves from Laparas) It can potentially switch into sun boosted fire types, fake out, set up rain, then KO with boosted aqua tail or waterfall.

Some Short ones

- A fire check that isn't weak to eq or fighting attacks will probably very useful. Escpially when it can become a stealth rock and/or TR setter for mons like Rampardos, Marowak, Camerupt, or Octillery.

Ok, but seriously, Wiggly may have a niche since the only way to remove hazards -unless you use Spin Armaldo- is Defog, Wiggly can act as a Deterrent thanks to its ability Competitive, and threaten the Defoggers back, and it can even set-up Stealth Rocks itself!

Wigglytuff is also just genuinely a good bulky Pokemon and gives stall a decent anti-setup measure with Perish Song, I wouldn't count it out at all.

Also, Altaria should probably consider running Earthquake over Hurricane in order to threaten Probopass and other stuff e.g. Flareon. Altaria just seems genuinely good, it's a bulky offensive threat this is also able to stave off Monferno comfortably and Cloud Nine variants can stop you from getting eviscerated by Sunny Day Victreebel.

Also Kecleon is so weak, I was going to give it benefit of doubt but 75bp moves off 90 attack (or even worse if you go with special lol, losing the elemental punches and Knock made this movepool so awkward) just aren't threatening and you can kinda just throw anything that isn't as frail as Pichu in front of it and scare it out. Defensive sets that make use of its role as a Stealth Rocker with recovery that can threaten Pelipper with Thunderbolt seem like the way to go.

Raticate seems decent, it's our most immeidately threatening normal type with guts and face with decent coverage and solid speed. I second wigglytuff as a solid choice, there is practically no spinners to speak of so it creates hairy scenarios if they try to defog and risk it getting a competitive boost, alongside it's amazing movepull and decent stats.

Honestly I thought the power creep would be a lot worse up to this point. Down here in the abysm. But I guess NU ladder wasnt that umm.. portrayal of the whole metagame. Which made some great picks up there go down here.
Gonna try to not repeat much on what has been said but don't buy me that much there.

1. The Spark Squad

In my theoretical teams before shifts I had Electabuzz in mind but oh my. We have really solid and top tier electric types which have different functions and each can handle its answers with utility or coverage. Meaning that no electric answer can handle all 3. (Unless Pachirisu ig). Most threatening one is def Raichu, with access to NP + Surf and Fblast is extremely hard to handle. While Manectric and Rotom-Fan can burst through grasses easily, usually opting for choiced sets, they struggle with Ground types like Camerupt, Golem, Whiscash and so on. Overall these 3 would be top and you def need to consider them when building with or against them.

2. Cold in Town

WTF IS GLACEON DOING HERE ok ice types are a menace too as you can see. All of them offer different offensiveness and utility. Glaceon claims one if you don't have Probo or Trashdam. Sneasel has an amazing speed tier with great damage output, only walled by Mawile and Monferno ig. Glalie provides Spikes support which is pretty much the only viable user alongside Roselia. Piloswine at last has a deadly STAB combo making it very hard to switch into without a Pelipper. Use ice-types they good.

3. Defog yay

So fsr these guys feel a lot better down here because the need for hazard control doesnt feel that mandatory, as spiker is literally one (it beats them tho) and Pelipper and Lumineon handle most rockers. Pelipper is def top having a great defensive typing for checking relevant mons like Monferno, Floatzel, Ninetales, Rapidash, Piloswine and overall a great blanket wall and pivot. Lumineon does the same giving up flying type making it better against rock types like Golem and Rampardos. In defog deparment I guess you can make a case for stuff like Golbat, Togetic, Vibrava, Dustox(? but I haven't played them enough to justify them.

4. Steel alive

Surprinsingly enough we still have very good steel types down here. Probopass is one of the best glue rn checking the menacing Ice-types while being a slow pivot and dealing good damage with Body Press. It has great stats for the tier and its def top. Both offensive and defensive Mawile are awesome now, being the only counter to Sneasel and with excellent dual STAB, Sheer Force are amazing as it has very little answers with rocks up weakening fire types and Pelipper. Trashdam is here fsr, being only weak to fire and a consistent rocker, check ice and grass types makes it a good choice too.

5. From the Hidden Leaf.

Played them all 3 these guys are great. Grass is an awesome typing offensively when paired with the right moves and coverage. Jumpluff itself doesnt highlight from this but from its flying stab combined with amazing speed and support moves making SubSeed or Sleep+Sap combos. Leafeon is very straight but its natural bulk makes it a great pick for coming in on Raichu, Whiscash, Corsola and more while having access to SD and threatening the opponent. Victreebel is deadly, 3atks + Sap or manual Sun makes it a great sweeper/wallbreaker, it can also run either physical or special making it harder to scout. May gave a s/o to Meganium here but boi is too passive unless u really value eq.

6. Grounds/Rockers

Camerupt, Corsola and Golem are the main rockers. All of them have good bulk and typing combination to be a staple on balance/bo teams. Golem can also be a great suicide lead with Custap + Sturdy and boom. Whiscash has a great niche I'd say, unique typing with stabs+ Ice beam makes it a good tank mon (dont use DD pls it sucks) and lastly, Armaldo has Rapid Spin support and acts more as a slow hitter and wallbreaker, thing is its typing is bad most of time and it struggles to come in by my experience, hits hard af tho.
Edit: Added Kecleon cuz Tone convinced me to test it, decent spdef wall with Dpunch + Tbolt to beat peli and probo. Cool pick


7. Fire types UNDERRATED!?

Monferno is the best scarfer in the tier with Manectric imo. Strong BP dual STAB, U-turn and decent speed tier is all it needs. On paper feels like its mediocre but its actually great, it exceeds more as a Fighting type than Fire but it looks better in a group so here it is. Ninetales ive used on screens and its pog, it can setup safe n sound and access to energy ball is so nice to have. Charizard on paper looks broken but rocks makes it harder to build imo. Both DD and Sunny Day may just sweep you tho. And lastly I think Rapidash is underlook but Fire+Ground its amazing coverage as well and can work as a bulky sweeper and check for the other fire types, better speed tier than them too.

8. Screens hasnt been banned guys.

I've used Grumpig and Lunatone as setters, and Huntail as basically Gorebyss. Butterfree with screens can sweep whole teams and previous sweepers mentioned like Raichu, Ninetales and Jumpluff benefit a lot for screens being up. Def a great type of build HO for the tier. Screeners arent the best but sweepers are just as good.

9. Brainstorm part.
A part dedicated to mons I think are relevant but I couldnt fit into any of the previous groups.

P2 is the spdef blanket wall. Boltbeam + Twave is great to have.
Floatzel has great speed tier and ability to go phys or special. Switcheroo is great too.
Altaria has no switch ins on paper as steel-types get bopped by Fire blast + eq and Wigglytuff is eh.
Pinsir looks like a great scarfer. Moxie helps to clean late game
I had to stall out a Curse Resttalk Muk to win a game and bro it is disgusting
Purugly is basically baby kang, Defiant is great to take those defogs with spike support.
Machoke is the other relevant fighting type, actually noticeable bulk and power.
Misdreavus is best ghost type, meaning best spinblocker and can go utility with willo hex or NP sets. (Banette still sucks imo).

This pokemon is a decent scarfer without too many switchins after rocks, managing a 2hko against Pelipper on the switch with stone edge. With is's 82 speed tier it outspeeds Monferno and ohkos with earthquake, even being able to switch into it in a pinch and get rough skin chip too. Only big problems I see with it are Sneasel being able to revenge kill easily with ice shard and not having u-turn likfe Monferno. But it makes up for that by having an electric immunity which is amazing with Raichu being such a good mon.

Leafeon is a pretty generic traditional sweeper, with life orb swords dance being by far the most common set. Subseed leafeon however, functions as a defensive pivot for offensive teams, as a stopblock for choice locked electrics like Raichu. It's speed investment lets it outspeed anything slower than a jolly Luxray, which includes threats like Victreebel and Glaceon. Aerial Ace, x scizor and double edge all serve the same meaning, which is hitting opposing grass types, or grass resists. Double-Edge lets Leafeon hit a large majority of the metagame, but the high recoil can greatly cut off it's survivability. The special defense investment lets Leafeon's substitute not break from Raichu's volt switch (unless max roll), and the attack investment lets it be more than just a sitting duck, and threaten KOs on weakened targets. It wroks best with the help of other electric removers, as it can easily tank Raichu's surfs. It is also extremely reccomended to use it in conjunciton with pokemon like Regice, as Glaceon can easily mess it up. Pairs greatly with ground types like Golem and Camerupt, as well as Regice and Glalie. It can also magically survive a +2 ice beam or ice fang from Huntail.

Also, would Chlorophyll not be better(though in most circumstances they both won't be active), since the effect is more desirable. Either way though, it's an interesting concept, though if I wanted a dedicated SubSeeder I'm not sure if it would be my first choice.

So I've been debating about what I should make my PU post about and I think I just want to talk about my "watchlist" for this tier. My "watchlist" being basically the mons or strategies that might just be a bit too much for this tier in the long run; whether they are broken or just an extremely unhealthy presence. I can say now before I start that there isn't anything in PU that is mega broken (I think we've moved on from having something the level of BDSP RU Kingdra or NU normals) but yeah, let's just get this over with.

1. Raichu
​

This mon has been in my mind since this tier started. I feel like Raichu has a bit too much going for it. It is quite fast, with mons like Floatzel, Purugly, Sneasel (Dugtrio and Ninjask aren't viable) being the only things that naturally outspeed it, it has a boosting option in Nasty Plot and coverage that widely hits most of the tier, with only Roselia and Victreebel resisting water/electric/fighting coverage. Even if Raichu isn't Nasty Plotting or you try to use its defensive checks like Roselia and Meganium, it just volts out, gaining chip while getting in its teammates to do whatever they want. It's also free to just spam Volt Switch because the grounds in the tier fear Surf and non-ground electric immunities like Mane and opposing Raichu get 2hkos by coverage. It's often either a guessing game what Raichu is going to click or it just spams Volt Switch. Definitely restricting on the builder.

2. Sneasel
​

I don't feel as strongly for Sneasel as I do for Raichu but this mon is still pretty good. Being faster than Raichu is a very good thing, being faster than most of the meta is a very good thing. Especially when its dual STABs are pretty much unresisted in the tier with Mawile being the only solid switchin left. It's also versatile in what it can run. Unlike Raichu who is probably going to be always LO NP 3 attacks or 4 attacks LO/magnet, Sneasel can run band or SD just efficiently. The latter lets it beat through the things that can take one hit from its STABs and band just offers immediate power. What makes Sneasel somewhat manageable is that it doesn't always just claim a kill. The defensive mons that aren't even its defensive counter Mawile can live hits from Sneasel and severely cripple it since it has zero bulk, prone to burn and stealth rock weak. Any viable scarfer can also just revenge kill it like Monferno and Pinsir.

3. Glaceon
​

Glaceon is NU's best special wallbreaker, why is it here? I don't know, but now we have to deal with it. Is it just me or it feels easier to handle in PU than in NU? The steels kinda suck in NU and they have a better place in PU so they're around more to check it easier like Probopass but think about it like this. Voltturn is so easy in this tier, Glaceon nukes most mons, just get in it and it claims a kill everytime. I feel like we could adapt to Glaceon, it still has low speed tier and stuff like Trashdam and Probopass are decent. However, pairing it with something like Raichu is just overkill.

4. Webs
​

Webs are interesting and I've dabbled with Rampardos webs. Smeargle gets them up pretty easily and you get Rampardos in. What mon can actually remove when that beast is in? Nobody! Webs will punish you for having no speed control really badly, which Rampardos does just ohko everything on offence thanks to LO Sheer Force. If you think something doesn't die to Rock Slide, just Head Smash. Do i think webs are banworthy? Potentially but I need a few more games to see how it does vs all sorts of team styles.


Other than those 4, I don't got much else to talk about. Huntail is an interesting mon to be careful of but again it's a situation where you need a scarfer or you will just lose. It can't get burned by Pelipper so you can just 1v1 it get para from body slam and move on with your day.

After an Agility, Pelipper hits 458 Speed, making it faster than stuff like Scarf Monferno and can OHKO with any of its dual STAB, Surf is really only here if you hate missing.

SD Rapidash

Rapidash losing Wild Charge sucks, but it's not all terrible for it. While SD Monferno could be used, the higher natural Speed and Fire immunity helps Rapidash out immensly as it can outspeed stuff like Leafeon which Monferno can't do unless Choice Scarf. Flare Blitz + High Horsepower provides it with the coverage it needs to hit everything bar pokemon like Pelipper, but on a set like this Rapidash doesn't require much in terms of support to function.

Future Sight Grumpig

Bulky DD Whiscash

Whiscash was brought up on Showdown and this is probably the best you can do in terms of having bulk and some higher damage output. EVs lets Whiscash hit 404 HP, with the speed enough to outspeed Leafeon after a DD. Jolly nature is an option to outspeed Raichu at +1, but you do lose out on power and Raichu can't OHKO Whiscash with Grass Knot with a NP boost:

252 SpA Life Orb Raichu Grass Knot (40 BP) vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Whiscash: 234-281 (57.9 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Ice Beam is only there as another option to 2HKO Leafeon after SR.

Another underrated mon Jumpluff while weak offensively has the moves and tools to be a offensive threat or a solid utility mon based on the role. Bar SD sets, Jumpluff has solid utility moves at its disposal and is very weak without an SD, so having an option in Sleep Powder, Strenght Sap, and Memento is a great asset to have for setup teams.

RP Relicanth

- Earthquake

Also making a solid wincon, RP Relicanth is a fantastic sweeper capable of outspeeding the entire unboosted meta while having solid coverage between Head Smash and Waterfall. Earthquake is mainly here to guarantee the OHKO on Probopass which Waterfall doesn't do. Itme is your choice, Chople Berry lets you lake on Monferno CC a bit easier, Wacan lets you like Thunderbolt and RP afterwards, and Hard Stone is nice to boost Head Smash's damage output without weaking yourself from Life Orb recoil. Lum Berry is also an option to set up on Scald users like Lumineon.

Just a few miscellaneous sets I thought up last night while bored. Probably not the best things, but maybe useful with some tweaks.

SubSalac Misdreavus

Potentially a solid late game cleaner (or breaker if need be), and I feel there's a lack of priority (outside of ghost immunities), as well as chip damage and dark types, to make a set like this work. After a Salac berry proc, Misdreavus will outspeed a jolly Scarf Monferno, and with Nasty Plot up most chipped pokemon shouldn't be too terrible. DGleam is literally only there to hit Sneasel, but given that some specific situations would have to come up to win the interaction, I'd suggest thunderbolt for more consistent damage, and OHKOing Pelipper before a boost is nothing to sneeze at. The most difficult part will be getting it into position to set up, but baiting a Probopass is the first thing coming to mind.

Scarf Grumpig

Nothing too fancy here. Unfortunately it gets outsped by scarf Monferno (when they're Jolly), but it's the best psychic scarfer in the tier. Having to be wary of Sneasel sucks, but it can't switch in without fearing a focus blast. My favorite thing about this set is turning Glaceon into a switch in and momentum, though having to fear Shadow Ball still sucks. If you can remove opposing Sneasel/Probopass/Mawile/etc, this thing should just wrap up games on its own. I would have loved to put Girafarig here for the better speed tier but god that thing sucks lmao

PhysDef Gabite

Monferno has no switch ins. Here's the next best thing. 120 speed is here to outrun modest Glaceon, which might not be an important benchmark, but I wanted to toss it in there since you can still get reasonably good chip onto it before you die (especially if you Roar it in). Punishing U-Turn with Rough Skin is, of course, very nice, you can usually take 2 CCs without any other chip. Here are some calcs with varying EV spreads to show off Gabite's defensive prowess/benchmarks to shoot for
