:salamence::Altaria: Convergence :Dragonite::noivern:

Pokémon gain access to the abilities and Movepools of all Pokémon that share their typing. Moves that are converged can also be passed on through form changes. For example, Roaring Moon, Hydreigon [and Zwellious and Deino] are all of the Dark/Dragon types in the tier. Roaring Moon would gain access to Hydreigon's full Movepool in addition to it's own, while having the choice of Protosynthesis, Levitate or Hustle as ability options.

:Salamence:Rules:
Mechanic: Pokémon gain access to the moves and abilities of Pokémon that carry identical typings.

Clauses: Standard OMs, Sleep Clause Mod, Terastal Clause, Min Source Gen=9, Converge Clause*

*Converge Clause - Prevents Pokémon from converging moves and abilities from banned and illegal Pokémon.

The ability to gain the moves and abilities of like-minded typings allows several already established threats to get new powerful tools, or grant new life into previously mediocre Pokémon who lacked the moves or abilities to perform.

:Dragonite:Sample Sets:

:Ss/Gogoat:
Gogoat @ Toxic Orb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Tera Type: Steel or Fairy
Ability: Poison Heal
Impish Nature
- Horn Leech
- U-turn
- Milk Drink
- Spikes / Leech Seed

Gogoat can be used as a defensive pivot and a status absorber, a rare trait in a metagame where status curing is impossible outside of items, while packing Spikes to force progress throughout the match, while U-turn always allows it to preserve momentum.

:ss/garganacl:
Garganacl @ Heavy Duty Boots
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Def
Tera Type: Fairy or Water
Ability: Regenerator / Purifying Salt
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Spikes
- Salt Cure
- Recover / Will-O-Wisp / Rapid Spin

Garganacl can use the tools converged from Rolycoly (Spikes) and Klawf (Regenerator / Knock Off) and be a sturdy SpD Pivot that is impossible to halt progress against. Will O Wisp and Rapid Spin are also tools it can leverage but Recover is just too reliable to pass up, especially if you are still going with Purifying Salt.

Veluza feels like it has everything it needs despite the small pool thanks to Dazzling from Bruxish and Slowbro's wide coverage. It feels like its gonna be a fun mon on Hyper Offense builds.

I have a better mon
Bruxish @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Dazzling
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Fillet Away
- Stored Power
- Drain Punch
- Hydro Pump

YOOOO IT'S FINALLY HERE!
Here comes some Pokemon I think could be funny:
(Bold = Shared Ability/Move, Bold Italic = HOME Exclusive Move/Ability)

:sv/tinkaton:
Tinkaton (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Ghost / Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes / Swords Dance
- Gigaton Hammer
- Play Rough / Foul Play

Prankster Dual Hazards. Fight me Could also work as an offensive SD Prankster mon too but we'll just have to wait and see.

:sv/tauros-paldea-water:
Tauros-Paldea-Water (M) @ Assault Vest / Choice Band
Ability: Moxie
Tera Type: Water / Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Step
- Earthquake / Ice Spinner
- Close Combat
- Iron Head

This mon feels REALLY good. It could actually be really good at snowballing through teams via Aqua Step and Moxie, and it gains Ice Spinner to deal with Flying/Grass types.

:sv/iron-hands:
Iron Hands @ Punching Glove / Leppa Berry
Ability: Iron Fist
Tera Type: Ghost / Fighting
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 248 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Revival Blessing
- Thunder Punch
- Mach Punch
- Protect

revival blessing. Lol! Still has STAB priority Iron Fist boosted Mach Punch though (Punching Glove rises its BP to almost 80) so that's cool.

Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sleep Talk
- Dragon Tail
- Solar Beam (Blissey)
- Copycat (Maushold)

Surprisingly, Dudunsparce's Dragon Tail is literally the only phazing move that is learned by a pure normal type in this gen, this ability was so close to being legal

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Dark/Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Sableye's insane prankster movepool on a mon with actual bulk

Copperajah @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Steely Spirit
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake

- Swords Dance

Perrserker's main drawback is being both slow and frail, Copperajah can actually take hits

:blissey:
Blissey @ Leftovers

Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst

You come in to wall their special attacker then click Boomburst and blow up something on the switch, Fire Blast claps Gholdengo

:ting-lu:
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

The end-all be-all physical wall

I would want some explanation, how does evolutions work? Does azumarill gain wigglytuff's?
No, Azumarill and Wigglytuff can only gain movepools/abilities from Pokemon that share their typing (Azumarill is the only Water/Fairy so it doesn't gain anything, and Wigglytuff gains moves and abilities from Azurill, the only other Normal/Fairy that isn't in the same evolution line as Wigglytuff)

Have fun:psysly:
Cetitan @ Leftovers
Ability: Moody

Glaceon @ Leftovers
Ability: Moody

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Thanks for catching that! This will be banned promptly, as it wasn't intended to be legal.

:sv/barraskewda:

Barraskewda reclaims its title as premiere Swift Swimmer by stealing Wave Crash from Floatzel, but it can also work outside of rain by taking Adaptability from Basculin. It also gets Jet Punch and Flip Turn from Palafin, and can opt for a more defensive ability to protect from Wave Crash recoil, either Rock Head from Barraskewda, or Regenerator from Alomomola.

Blissey (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Aroma Veil / Thick Fat
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Transform
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Seismic Toss

This feels like BH Lite as while Imposter is restricted, Transform is still available and can therefore allows Blissey to be a powerful counter against setup sweepers.

:iron hands:
Iron Hands @ Leftovers / Punching Glove
Ability: Iron Fist
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 124 SpD / 132 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Double Shock

Hey look! It's kinda STABmons Iron Hands! As Low-Key mentioned, this can just steal all of Pawmot's moves basically and do it better lol.

:garganacl:
Garganacl @ Rocky Helmet / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Fairy / Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Salt Cure
- Knock Off
- Spikes
- Will-O-Wisp / Rapid Spin

This thing is already so damn good in standard and here it has multiple options beyond all imagination as the set in the OP is just as good as a set like this.Garg can actually drop Recover with Regenerator and while losing the status immunity isn't great, this more than makes up for it lol.

Work!
Other Cinderace idea:

:cinderace:
Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots/Life Orb
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Pyro Ball
- Earthquake

SD turns your type to Normal, then you tera, and click Extreme Speed. Thanks Arcanine!

:espeon:
Espeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid/Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Protect/Roost/Substitute
- Stored Power
- Dazzling Gleam

Pretty much just an upgrade on Espathra, with an extra 5 Speed and 29 SpA

:iron-moth:
Iron Moth @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fairy/Fire/Flying
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid/Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Wave
- Morning Sun / Energy Ball / Discharge

Still doesn't dance but this is a good substitute.

:hariyama:
Hariyama @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water/Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- U-Turn
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch

Bulkier than Lando-T with a SR resist.

:toxapex:
Toxapex @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 SpDef
Bold Nature
- SPIKES
- Toxic / Thunder Wave
- Recover
- Chilling Water / Gunk Shot

Pex finally gets something to do other than clicking Toxic on everything.

(dammit tanny ninjad me while i was having lunch)

tails looks super good tho, very unique access to wishport and magic bounce preventing taunt disrupting it and blocking other stuff like toxic/rocks/twave as well being an amazing ability as usual. couple that with good bulk, high hp meaning big wishes, good speed to potentially get a wish up before fainting to an attacker, additional utility with nuzzle and rocks or knock or something else from garde's bottomless movepool (wisp anyone?), it looks like a really strong, difficult-to-replace pick.

Espeon @ Leftovers
Tera Type: Fairy
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 184 HP / 252 Def / 72 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind / Nasty Plot
- Stored Power
- Dazzling Gleam
- Roost / Substitute / Protect

espathra plus kinda?

(edit: OH COME ON)

Zoroark @ Choice Specs
Tera Type: Fighting / Fire
Ability: Stakeout
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb
- Trick / U-turn / Destiny Bond

252 SpA Choice Specs Stakeout Zoroark Dark Pulse vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Clodsire: 267-315 (57.6 - 68%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
stakeout fun

Slowbro @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Future Sight
- Chilly Reception
- Chilling Water
- Slack Off

in case you didn't notice, this is the standard slowking set copy/pasted on slowbro. chilly reception is just a huge deal.

Iron Jugulis @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Quark Drive (or another one, none of em are very useful)
Tera Type: Ground / Flying / Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse / Hurricane
- Earth Power / Hurricane / Fire Blast
- Roost

np and roost!! this is a huge deal for iron jugulis who can now abuse its phenomenal offensive typing and coverage

Drifblim @ Flame Orb
Ability: Flare Boost
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Revelation Dance
- Hurricane

- Strength Sap

probably still pretty bad but ive always been totally in love with flare boost. a hdb version of this could also work. im 10000% sure bulkier spreads work much better than max spa max spe, figure it out.

[insert iron moth set ninjad when i was typing]

Jolteon @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Magnet / Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
Tera Type: Water / Grass / Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot / Volt Switch / U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Surf / Flamethrower
- Grass Knot / Flamethrower

unfortunately this game has 0 quick feet abusers (aside from lilligant but thats probably too busy running contrary leaf storm) but jolteon itself turned out to be quite interesting. esurge from pincurchin, nasty plot and surf from our favorite mascot rats, and giga drain, uturn, and flamethrower from eelektross can turn jolteon into quite a dangerous attacker. though it has quite a movepool now, jolteon still has jolteon-level stats. i'd like to see how it does

also? don't let the coverage fool you, jolteon is still very much an electric-spam bot. it just does better against grounds compared to a lot of its former competition.

(regieleki will do unspeakable things we do not talk about it yet)

looks fun, though i really wish this would be played in a time where we have a less limited dex. overlaps are hard to find around here.

:sv/espeon:
Espeon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Speed Boost
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lumina Crash
- Focus Blast
- Trick
- Dazzling Gleam
because naw what the hell. this is just stupider Espathra. There's already sets up there with the usual Stored Power gimmick, but Specs still goes hard with Lumina Crash. Switching out Magic Bounce for Speed Boost means it's prone to hazards and status though, so you can probably keep Magic Bounce. Lumina Crash and Focus Blast are definitely staying.

:sv/rotom-fan:
Rotom-Fan @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch | Roost
My guy has the best bulk out of all Electric/Flying Pokémon, Quiver Dance just boosting it even further, and it finally gets Hurricane! Huzzah! Volt Switch gives it a pivoting option while Roost is for longetivity.

:sv/oricorio-sensu:
Oricorio-Sensu @ (any field seeds)
Ability: Unburden
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe

- Roost

Oricorio-Sensu @ Flame Orb
Ability: Flare Boost
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Revelation Dance
- Hurricane
- Roost
Speaking of Quiver Dance, this Pokémon gets access to both Unburden and Flare Boost. And it can afford to run both sets. A scary Pokémon i think.

:sv/slither-wing:
Slither Wing @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- First Impression/Flare Blitz
- Megahorn

- U-turn/Earthquake
Prepare for Megahorn Moxie Slither Wing. You can also use a Guts set with Flame Orb if you're feeling funky.

Clastia sniped me on Bellibolt propaganda, so I'm going ahead post some electric terrain replays

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9customgame-1766019609
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9customgame-1766030697

(Just ignore that the second game has knock off, I forgot Pikachu lost access to it, and we have to play without validator for now)
Bellibolt is a great setter, it has the bulk to come in multiple times during the game while being able to heal with Slack Off, can set hazards, and has good offensive pressure, and its Iono's partner.
Now the stuff I used that hasn't been posted here:

:gs/scizor:
Scizor @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Technician
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock / Spikes

Scizor gets some nice utility options from Forretress, kind of wish Escavalier was legal, or that Scizor still had roost, or that Genesect was legal, but either way, spin + tech actually deals some damage while cleaning hazards and giving some speed (that you hardly ever need, but you could turn this into a double dance set).

:sv/flamigo:
Flamigo @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Acrobatics
- Thunder Punch

This is Hawlucha, but with much better Atk. Not much else to say, the two mons were already too similar. The stat distribution makes Flamigo much better at this.

Ayo not sure what's the best way to bring these up but Final Gambit gets distributed to the likes of Chansey, Blissey, Dondozo, Alomomola, Vaporeon and Hariyama. I'm not sure how effective it is for them to have this, but it sounds a fair bit concerning for them to have this bc combined with their high HP stat, it can delete almost every mon in the game, which kinda makes switching into them extremely risky. Could be broken, could be a legit strat or could just be me misjuding how viable something truly is.

Again, might be an overreaction on my end (Specially since they're all very slow mons), but figured i'd bring them up either way just in case it matters
