Moderation team, feel free to either move this thread or lock/delete this if you feel the need to do so. I wasn't really sure where else to post about this, so I apologize in advance if the so-called "off-topic forum" doesn't suffice for this thread topic.
Over the past few weeks, something hasn't felt right to me as I've been trying to finish up the rest of my current semester of classes. School itself is going fine; it's more-so what I'm doing in my free time these days, which is to say... not much. My summer break is coming up here in a few weeks, and while I will be getting a summer job again, it's not like I'll be working all 168 hours of a seven-day week. (I did the math so you don't have to.) Preferably a lot of those 168 hours per week would be spent doing some combination of eating, sleeping, and free time activities. In realizing that my usual hobbies, while still interesting, aren't as fun as when I was younger, I thought it was time for a sort of identity change. The only things remotely related to social media I still use these days are these forums and YouTube, on both of which I've referred to myself as "bdt2002" for a couple of years now. On occasion, I'll throw in the word "Gaming" at the end, but this is inconsistent as I've heard some people say that's a bit cliché.
There's just one problem with this. What exactly would I change my name to? Changing the "Gaming" half of this would be easy. I do in fact have a few other hobbies I can think of that I don't usually talk about too often on these forums. There's the whole neurodiversity thing I love talking about over in Congregation of the Masses, I played soccer for nine years but was eventually forced to stop because "haha funny small school problems", and I've even had a rising interest in meteorology (the study of weather) for about a year now. I don't want to just settle on something like "bdt2002 Weather Watching", though. Not only is that way too long for my liking, but it also sounds kind of tacky, you know?
Realistically, I probably didn't need to make an entire thread just to talk about this, but I figured it could be fun to get some of yours' inputs and ideas on this subject. I do recall that somewhere there's a thread about how people came up with their usernames, but I want to try and avoid accidentally breaking any rules about thread merging if I can. So, uh... I guess that's all, then. If anyone has any input, thanks in advance; if you don't, that's perfectly fine too. Take care, everyone
