The current plan is to maintain our current vote on the post-HOME metagame. In order to maintain excitement levels and get us through this transition period, we will attempt to reveal the placement (OU or Ubers) of one Pokemon each day starting next week.

I personally anticipate us having a date by the time we make it through the list.

You know shits bad when Joe “Serebii” Merrick criticizes GameFreak.
I mean, they justified the Dexit and other gen 8 issues saying that Game Freak only has a small amount or workers and they don't hire more because with more people they would have communication issues. But with this that excuse won't work anymore, you need to talk with basically all the persons in charge to give a date for something like this, especially with how anticipated Home is, is just a big fuck up by their part.

so either their last flimsy excuse for not producing better content just got shredded to pieces or they were caught gaslighting the entire english-speaking community, and there's still going to be a legion of twitter drones defending them. why we continue to tolerate this is beyond me

Apparently the JP Twitter account never gave a concrete date for the release and their statement was instead an apology for the other accounts "mistakenly" posting the 24th as the release. Makes me question where exactly the date came from if it was never meant to be THAT one.

Saw that too. Which if true means that between this and the pokemon day presents getting the release window wrong (saying early 2023/early spring 2023 when other regions had just spring 2023), that would make twice the English/western side of TPCi screwed up with info for HOME. And I just have to ask... How. How do you do that not once but twice.

because it was never an accident. they're trying to deflect the criticism they've gotten recently for rushing games by intentionally delaying things

Tera has been one of the aspects that caused almost every single pokemon we've had banned to be banned. I'll go through them to prove my point
Palafin: Used Tera Water to kill everything and Tera Steel + Bulk Up to beat its normal checks (a common theme throughout these bans)
Flutter Mane: Used Tera Steel/Fire to beat priority users
Chien-Pao: Used all of Dark, Ice, and Fighting Tera to get past checks like Dozo or Garg
Shed Tail: Tera on everything behind substitute allowed them to get 1 more setup turn or survive revenge killing attempts behind a substitute. Could also be used on the passers for more consistent Shed Tail.
Espathra: wouldn't have fire/fighting coverage so it would be handled by Ghold and many bulky Darks like Gambit
Chi-Yu: Used Tera Fire to get past many potential checks like Clod or Garg, as well as losing Fighting weakness to stifle revenge-killing attempts from stuff like Breloom or Pawmot
Houndstone: Used Tera Fighting to deal with the normals and dark types that hindered its sweep
Bundle: Tera Ice blows everything up
Please, don't disrespect the anti-Tera side by saying banning Tera would be "lazy". We think banning Tera will lead to a better metagame, so please respond with actual arguments if you want to be taken seriously
I missed this post earlier, but in most of these examples you've provided Tera wasn't the leading reason for the bans. It's not a knock against Tera that it further overpowered mons that are broken for other reasons. It's not meant to be disrespectful to anyone to say it would be a lazy decision, at least if made too early. If the mechanic can be preserved in a way that is balanced (which I think is possible, in my opinion, which is also informed by polling at different stages of the metagame) then it should. I think after the Dynamax ban (which was unavoidable) there's less reluctance to remove key mechanics from the game. Another point is that it's much easier to make a call once the full SV Dex is released to take action on Tera. I do think it's unlikely that if action is taken now that Tera would be given a fair shake in a full dex metagame. Though if I'm wrong about that anyone is free to set the record straight there.

"Early" officially means first half/by June 30. No one ever officially said "Early Spring".

only notable move it WOULD lose if the move resets were happening (which is much less likely given what insiders and the actual home post says)
I'm sorry if this is not the place to have this discussion, but please stop spreading misinformation about leaks...

Khu has said that you can't relearn moves from other games (here explicitly, and they reiterated it here and basically keep saying not to be excited about the feature).
Centro's other anonymous source - the one who correctly said there would be backwards-compatible transfers - also claimed to begin with that moves would be reset.

To be clear:
I would also completely respect taking neither Khu nor Centro's source at face value on this if you don't want to trust them.
Khu has suggested they know no more about HOME than we do at the moment (and they implied that the HOME information they were leaking was from reading this same announcement in advance, not from actually using the feature firsthand - at the moment it seems like they only have the same information we do, and they've also been complaining about how unclear it is and saying they don't know what happens in certain situations),
and Centro may post claims from just about anyone and/or may misinterpret information from time to time, so it's up to you whether you think this particular source of theirs has proven themself or not and you may choose to throw out that claim entirely.

If you don't want to take these two as confirmation that transfer moves aren't happening, that's entirely fair and you can just ignore them! You are always welcome to use your own judgment on what sources to trust and this is always better practice than taking everything at face value.
Even the credible sources are notoriously annoying to interpret on purpose because it's their gimmick to be downright inscrutable and then make fun of people for not "getting it" (actual Khu leaks: "when is HOME coming?" "19." -> "you know, like 24 minus 5. 19 meant May 24th all along.") - if you would rather just wait for official confirmation and not take their word for it, that's realistically for the best.
However, the point is that no other credible inside sources have commented, and also there kind of aren't any other credible inside sources, so there's definitely no basis for saying this is something that's been promised.
Your two options are "the insiders worth trusting said moves are reset and there are no transfer moves" or "no insiders who have said anything either way are worth trusting, so we really don't know;" neither of these justifies saying any insiders have said move resets aren't happening.
You can hope for what you want, but it's not a leak.

As far as the official announcement goes, it's definitely fair to say that the English wording was not very clear on this, but announcements in some other languages - like the official Chinese site as cited and translated in this post - say more directly that it only works for moves the Pokémon can learn in the game it's being sent to.
In all languages that I've checked, the announcement is also clear that this is a feature that's used not while the Pokémon is sitting in HOME but while the Pokémon is being actively withdrawn to a linked game, which in turn provides useful context and suggests that the text on the Japanese site most likely also means it's limited to the destination game.

I'm honestly both frustrated and sad about this, along with being disheartened about how Pokemon has been mishandled so consistently. When a business cannot even properly handle advertisements, that feels like a bad omen. If it was a sketchy practice to get more Pokemon Home subscriptions, I wouldn't be surprised, but if it was just a blundered wording mixup I also wouldn't be surprised.

While Pokemon being unexpected has frankly been a hallmark of the series (and something I like about it), I've found lately that the negative surprises are just as frequent, if not at times more frequent than the positive surprises. Deep down I'm hoping that they're slowly trying to switch to a new business model and just taking longer than expected to enact their plans (bringing out all the stops for Gen 10, which would be a milestone), but part of me also heavily doubts this.

Two steps forward, two steps back.

Blackpill, this has been the rule and will be for a long time, gen 8 was a mistake and should have been a failure, but the fanbase is so dumb they made it a record selling game. And sv was a lot better because the bar was low and nothing else, and why should they try if they can just produce dogshit and make it a best seller

You guys expect too much from a mediocre company, and things will be this way forever, just accept it

Edit: remember that they were bend on killing stall yet apprently scald was coming back, literally a fucking disaster

Also on a more positive note, ban garganacl
