Oh good, it sure has been while. 2 months and 300 posts later, I have finally came back to post another team. Post tutor and post suckiness, here it is. My former tutor, IggyBot, was great, and really helped me learn the ropes. I know that I am not insanely expert. I want to perfect this team before I start making my run up the ladder, so I need help.

This team is very offensive and tries to keep the opponent guessing. I'm starting to make more wild predictions, and this team leaves room for it. I actually didn't put much thought into this team. (...) I then saw who I was weak to and fixed all the major holes. This has netted my a 5/7 record at the time of this writing, but I know it is not perfect, but with a little more time and the opinion of experts, it could reach perfection. I haven't ran any calculations yet, and I haven't finalized EV's, but this will come with time. I want to work in some sort of form of entry hazard, but I do not know who to replace, I am already so attached to all of them. Oh, and once again thanks to IggyBot, who without, the team never would have happened. Well, that's enough of the yaddity-yaddity, here's the team!

Current Tests:

~ Mixed Swampert over Ambipom

Past Test Results:

~ Swords Dance Gliscor over Infernape was great, but I think that a standard supporting set would be better, so I'm going to keep testing it. Was great. Finalized.

Permanent Edits:

~ Life Orb over choice band on Mamoswine
~ Gliscor over Infernape
~ Timid Scarfgar

THE TEAM

dpmbsa424.png
(♂) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
~ Pursuit
~ Fake Out
~ U-turn
~ Brick Break
-------------------------------

Not really an anti lead pokemon at all, but this is not important, because I have a way to take down every common lead. Picks off weak/injured pokemon. Pursuit does about 60% to a Gengar when it isn't switching out, so I used it over Payback. It also 2HKO's Azelf with, but it's not like I'm going to be leaving it in on Azelf anyways. Fake Out picks off many weakened foes, and always causes damage. To start off, I usually Fake Out, and then U-Turn to a counter, just causing extra damage. Brick Break is just for coverage.

dpmbsa286.png
(♂) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 44 HP/252 Atk/212 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
~ Focus Punch
~ Spore
~ Substitute
~ Leech Seed
---------------------------------

Just a standard Breloom. More effective than the Spore puncher IMO because it can Leech Seed the switch, and then switch to a counter, who then uses Breloom's support to Steal HP. Standard EV spread and everything. Loves getting U-Turned to, because it doesn't have to worry about getting statused the first turn that it is in before being poisoned. Also my only status absorber.

dpmba473.png
(♂) @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 36 HP/252 Atk/220 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Shard
~ Stone Edge
~ Ice Fang
-------------------------------

Ah Mamoswine, the threat the nobody sees coming. Some many teams have a Mamoswine weakness because of its great STaB combo in Ground/Ice. Having one of the most powerful Earthquakes in the game also help, along with a STaB priority move, and this is a force to be reckoned with. I can't believe that this used to be UU. Ice Fang over Peck (lol) for the OHKO on Gliscor, and to hit obvious floaty switch ins. A great part of my team, but I could replace if need be.

dpmbsa094.png
(♂) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 64 HP/192 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
~ Hidden Power Ice
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast
~ Thunderbolt
---------------------------------

ScarfGar. Without it, my team would be 6-0ed by Gyarados right off the bat. But with this, I can outspeed Gyarados after 1 DD and Immediatly put an end to it with ThunderBolt. Smart players will switch out, but in the majority of my fights, they leave it in. I can not decide what other move to put in. Hidden Power Ice may prove unnecessary because of Mamoswine, but Destiny Bond or Explosion aren't great either., Hypnosis would be unnecessary because of Breloom so that's out. So please help with my last slot. A great member of my team, who I would never replace.

dpmba472.png
(♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/68 Atk/188 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Fang
~ Roost
~ Taunt
--------------------------------

Physical Walling Beast. I had a bit of a fighting weakness before, and but this total solves it. Taunt to stop Baton Pass Chains, and to shut down some walls to give a counter a free turn. Great stuff here.

dpfbsa242.png
(♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 20 HP/252 Def/236 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
~ Thunder Wave
~ Softboiled
~ Seismic Toss
~ Ice Beam

Special Wall. Counters stuff.

Problems: 3 Psychic weaknesses and no resists. Also 3 fighting weaknesses. Blissey can generally take most Psychic attacks though.

So, there you have it, I'm back. With this new team, I hope to get up to the top 100 like I did so long ago. Please Help my team!!! More detailed explanations cummin soon..

A nice lead imo because it gives me a lot of trouble. Anyway it looks pretty good on papaer and I know it does well in battle.

Very annoying and it works well.

Nice. I wouldnt replace it IMO because like you said, a lot of teams are mamo weak.

I would use Timid Scarfgar. It has enough speed to outrun Gyara after two DD's which is obviously helpful. It still packs a huge punch, and it prevents risky speed ties with other scarf-gar as most are modest.

Trust me, Slice recommended I use timid scarf-gar and the thing works so much better than modest.

Bah, filler pokemon, but is actually great. Can come in on Blissey and watch it run as it Nasty Plots. When Cresselia comes in to try to wall it, it is promptly 2HKO'ed by NP Flamethrower, and can be 1HKO'ed by Fire Blast. The other moves are just for necessary coverage. When Blissey finally clues in, I can just switch to Breloom and work from there. The member who I am most likely to replace fo sho.

I like the surprise factor there. If it works for you then fine.

Hey Kira, I might test Timid ScarfGar later, but I know that I am never going to let Gyarados get 2 Dragon Dances off, but it is worth a try. Also if you are going to write shortish comments, please don't quote. Thanks!

Now I can't just go and let my first apprentices first RMT after the tutor program go nearly unaswered, could I?

First of all, I would definatly stick a Life Orb on Mamoswine. It's very helpful to be able to switch between your awsome physical STAB'd Ice and Ground attacks.

As for Infernape, without Fire Blast, it's basically just an inferior Azelf. However, with Fire Blast, Infernape hits harder than Azelf can, just sacrifices some speed.

Even with Gengar, you have a bit of a fighting weakness. Ambipom, Blissey and Mamoswine are all hit SE, while Breloom and Infernape both take neutral hits hard. May try something like Swords Dance Gliscor, who can still take those boosted fighting hits, and keep up your offense with Swords Dance, agility, baton pass, a STAB'd EQ, Taunt, Stone Edge.....you get my drift.

Also consider replacing Blissey with a ResTalk Heatran. Heatran will hurt things a lot more than Blissey, and thanks to it's much more usful resistances, it can easily function as a special attack absorber, just as long as you're careful about SE hits.

Good luck, and I want to battle this team sometime.

iggybot, i run a CB mamoswine and i can tell you that it works very well. it's such a huge boost. EQ kills smaller pokes even at neutral like starmie or ambipom. all that i'm saying is that LO is not necessarily better than CB on a mamoswine.

a lot of people's teams (on shoddy) have gotten a lot less mamoswine weak since i came on to smogon. i mean just read the sig XD.

anyways, back on the team, why not make the ape mixed? give gengar HP ice and you have enough of that type to go around. then just use a standard mixape as a late game sweeper - something that you don't have specifically.

I never ment to say Life Orb is better than CB, I did however recomend it because Mamoswine enjoys switching between attacks, since being locked into EQ sometimes sucks when you can OHKO the switch in with one of your Ice attacks.

yeah, mamoswine has the worst defensive typing it only gets to come in on electric attacks, posion and weak even attacks. being weak to things like water, grass and steel really hinder it. Life orb seems to be a better choice.

Anyways, you may want to try double hit on ampibom over pursuit, maybe brick break. It will destroy any ninjasks which are in the top 10 leads and any sub passers for that matter. It also adds really nice STAB.

I don't want to use MixApe because my team has bigger problems with stuff like Cresselia then it does with Blissey. Everybody sees Mixape coming anyways. Also, it can hold it's own against Mixape's 3 common counters, Salamence, Gyarados and Cresselia. And yeah, Hidden Power [Ice] seems to be the best move for gengar. I have decided to run a test now from Iggy's suggestions, let's see how they go.

Azelf isn't a big problem if you switch Blissey in and then you switch to Gengar. Although they will probably suspect it's scarf'd. The really big issue here is your fighting weakness, as Infernape and Breloom will still fall to a strong Close Combat. Gliscor does take care of that to a degree.

Ok, I just made some major updates, so this is worthy of a less than 24 hour bump. Gliscor worked great over Infernape, so I decided to put it in, and I am trying some different versions of Swampert over Ambipom, because it was my weak link. How is the team looking now?

Hmm.. maybe you should consider Kristy (Floatzel) as a starter? It can Bulk Up to most of your team, and also isn't afraid of Infernape and other slower starters. Also helps for your ice weakness.

Nah, I don't really like Baton Pass Set-Ups for this team... 24 hour bump!
