Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v3

Genuine question, why not mirror coat over stealth rocks to really fuck up special attackers? Like especially stored power manaphy.

I got to 1500s pre h-sam with an h-zoro meowscarada team. It's not impressive in the grand scheme of things but pre h-sam OU is my favorite iteration of the tier and I miss it. I also really liked making fun of stall players who complained about gholdengo back then.
cuz rocks is much better long term and i have other teammates to check manaphy, seems like a pretty dumb replacement

Honestly I could see it being either Ghold or Sneasler

Its probably sneasler but I could see it being Ghold

Either way one is getting suspected and the other is being banned
i mean, if it is ghold, sneasler should be quickbanned immediately afterwards because it would no longer need to run anti-ghold tech and would go from broken to double broken

Sorry y'all, I got the PROOF that Maushold's days are numbered

To take the debate away from sneasler/ghold for a second, what are everyone's thoughts on Blaziken coming back? Saw the question in the Office Hours (where you, yes you, can talk to the REAL LIVE FINCHINATOR) about (THE REAL LIVE) Finchinator's opinion on Blaziken in a Tera meta and it got me thinking. With Speed Boost, Swords Dance, an immaculate offensive type combination, and now Tera to boost its coverage, it certainly sounds excellent, maybe even broken, but powercreep could also finally catch up to it. What do you think?

Gholdengo is keeping our fragile metagame together during these trying times.... Meanwhile the evil Sneasler is sweeping teams left and right with no setup! Kingambit doing Kingambit things! Ogerpon-W is too fast and strong! And manaphy is cheesing teams left and right!

I will be giving every Pokemon except Gholdengo a 5 on the next survey.

Is Gholdengo the glue? I don't see how it's helping, other than multiple defense matchups against broken threats. I'm not a veteran and I have only seen thorough arguments against gholdengo. So, what is it doing for the tier?

I'm not trying to fight, just trying to study the other side of the coin.

I think Blaziken is gonna find itself in UUBL again if it doesn't get Raging Fury. It's fragile, outsped by most Pokemon before it gets up a +1 Speed and suffers from Flare Blitz recoil which will be further exacerbated by the thousands of Spikes littering the tier. It could very well find its home in OU, you never know with this Gen, but I'm betting the chicken will struggle to find itself a spot on teams.

what if it keeps defog

again quite glad that people woke up about broken ass sneasler, it's been dumb since HOME really. As for Blaziken it'll either be broken with Tera or a really matchup fishy wincon imo

Scarlet and Violet turns 1 year old today! What was your favorite moment of the year? Mine has to be the Shed Tail ban. Its been a wild year of SV, and I can't wait for DLC 2 and its suprises. This has been my first year of competitive play, I hope it only goes up from here (ban:sneasler:)

If you want to get the full story of SV OU's history, check out WilhelmTheOkay 's thread on SV's first year. It takes a deep dive of the events that occurred in that year, covering things like Tours, Suspect Tests, Rises and Drops and more! (Remember Finchinator vs MudkipNerd?) I take no credit in this, I just wanted to shine a light on their MASSIVE contribution to SV OU. Thanks so much to them!
