NOC Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Mafia - Explorers - Game Thread (Game Over!)

I mentioned it before but especially the fact that Hydro is why I almost died yesterday because he added his mayor to it and then he came back today to say the "let's just kill Shane and Celever!" but has otherwise never provided a read on me, it does ring alarm bells.

Repeating cos of current discourse :P

just not specifically about them, but I have actively tried to deliver escalated the whole dynamic of clever Vs Shane a lot for fear of them both being town, and that there's a huge opportunity for mafia to stir this and get free votes off on town, I've mentioned this type of stuff a lot actually

probably the same but i don't know since i'm firmly in one PoV at this point, i am having trouble assessing this in good faith

if you can't imagine a world where celever is town and what that might mean for the game, youre almost certainly too tunneled to be genuinely reading in good faith anyways and are super in a confbias hole

I was more like, if you think this is a mafia tactic, and there are at least 3 people doing this, why isn't your head poking in that direction? How did you miss it?

I mentioned earlier, that there's so many people interacting with this dynamic in many different ways and how good it bad they look all depends on exact alignments of both celever and Shane

I could theory crafting but I would be preflilling not just one player, but two to try get to reads, its so many layers of conditional it's not really that useful

I think everyone in the game or most players we can gather some form of info from, relating to what these guys alignments are

if we flip them both and they were both town we would just lose though, so by time we flip them both then find which of the names who said "flip them both" which certainly would have mafia, we are probably in lylo, and I'm certain that while there's mafia in said group (IF it's tvt), theres probably also at least one town, who we now also have to try pick out at f9 lylo and save, whike trying to find the probably multiple deep wolves who played well around the dynamic and just let town fight

so to sum up, it's not a great sign, but hey, maybe one of those guys is mafia, and in that case it's no longer a red flag, but by time we resolve this, if they are town v town we already lost the game basically

it's fine for you to take this stance if you just don't particularly scumread either of us but if people have suspicions in celever and i there's no real duty to ignore them either

Celever Shane flips town, what do you do?
I'm not thunderdoming with Shane rn, I'd mainly be annoyed at how he played and then move on.

He's managed to float between so many different relationships over the course of the game that we have very few concrete interactions reads to build on later, mainly over the course of D1. On D2 he's picked a side much more, but that's then come at the expense of a wide range of interaction reads. Genuinely feels like scum-benefitting play more than anything else; tunnelling is a good scum strategy because it leaves more question marks concerning the rest of the game if you die.

IDK why Shane would have felt he was particularly in danger to full send that strategy, but still.

Probably the main worthwhile interaction reads would in fact be pushing Hydro / genisu more. Especially Hydro, I think he knows better than to flip two people just because they argued. He never came off the back of a me/Psy fight and went "let's kill both of them".
