celever's claim is absolutely terrible if im real, but hes also the doc claim, none of this has been meta just my thoughts

the strongest town role for protection besides me would arguably be Laurel's BPV, otherwise it's M2H's roleblocker (which is better than a doc in the lategame but worse in the earlygame).

d2 wagons look really bad for shane, celever role wise looks bad, laurel play wise looks kinda bad so between the 3 i have to choose what is going to make me decide
its pretty strong in fucking up mafia, along with tracks/watches + alignment cop, its kind of the straw that breaks the camels back
theres so much protective roles and yours is by far the strongest, there definitely mafia in the protective roles, but if its you its a lot more balanced than if its what you, in which case most of the others being town + doc is still pretty broken (unless mafia can just bypass protect every turn)
if you are mafia, all the rest can probably be functionally town together

laurel's bpv isn't the strongest town role for protection given that it didnt protect. i could see argument that he's not the first to go over since a mafia strongman one kill makes some sense given how much fuckery there seems to be around, but

I mean based on the BPV bypass, and especially based on the fact that (say it with me folks) i am town, I agree with my theory earlier in the game that the large amount of protection is mostly just vanilla-lite roles because scum can bypass it seemingly.
I still argue that roleblocker is stronger than doc. It's not even a JK, just a straight up RB.
The thing I can't square with this game in terms of the setup is that it genuinely feels like a very low power game, except for where it doesn't. Clouds was a cop who seemingly was balanced by a vig existing, and with how the game's gone the vig hasn't been able to prove itself yet and shoot someone so it's tinfoilable I suppose... except the fact that a role gives the wrong result then becomes public info so the cop is kinda just really strong. Then as I say if M2H is town then we have a full roleblocker and a full doctor with a JOAT to back up both of those abilities one-shot... but the people who it'd actually be that worth protecting are faily low in number. Shane, once he's a full watcher, and of course the cop and claimed vig, but that's it. The rest of the roles aren't doing that much.
Self-watcher is like a random failsafe where scum can get caught in a lie if they're really unlucky, but if Alice is town idk why scum would lie about targeting her with something anyway.
Genuinely think trying to eval based on setup is probably a fool's errand. Which ik is being said from the position of someone who people feel is implicated by the setup, but I feel that way in general.
Safeclaims, when I make them, are just a translation of the roles that mafia actually have with different flavour. As much as that's not totally typical, I would expect at least most of the safes in the game to be the roles that the mafia team actually have. To that end, I imagine most mafia are mixed in with the seemingly weaker roles so that they can't be found through the processes that people are currently trying to do, maybe with one more powerful role so as to not be too predictable with it. The powerful roles are Clouds, M2H and JALMONT (because doctor isn't powerful on mafia only on town) and I'm surprised that that line of logic hasn't been entertained by anyone. Is it just because people townread them both? Because valid, but still lol.
