  • I don't think that he could help his own sanity. He was sane for a long time, but then his mind gradually degraded due to old age.
His writing reached the reader greatly. The problem is that he was Thoreau's mentor. Therefore, proving him inferior to Thoreau becomes challenging.
Sorry I left for an hour. I'll be leaving again at 5 and have no idea if I'll be back on after that.
There is a positive part for Thoreau. But those are extremely easy to find. My partners and I have all but finished that part. The negatives of Emerson, on the other hand, are something that we've all been struggling to find. I'm hoping that they find some things too (that are different from mine)...
Thank you lord axelia for the invite. Actually it should be more of an im sorry because my life is full of compact scheduling and i havent been on much since volleyball is in that way. I havent battled in weeks:O
    1. Emerson preached about experiencing nature, but never left the confines of a civilized society, whereas Thoreau lived in a cabin for 2 years, 2 months, and 2 days.
    2. Emerson’s concept of self-reliance is flawed in that it would justify the actions of those such as Adolf Hitler.
    3. He says that envy is bad because it can be turned into jealousy, but neglects that it can also be used as a drive to better oneself.
Idk if that's a bad thing... what was he obsessive about? his work?
Either way, I got #3, whoo! This is going to be a very difficult debate...
It would if it said "to be continued". Btw, my responses will be very delayed; I'm working on a history project.
^^it was more the first paragraph of a series of novels. Also, advice: use spell-check. It'll make your stories much better.
